Victor® Clean-Kill Mouse Trap - 4-Traps

When Ralph Waldo Emerson, coined the phrase “Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door,” in the late nineteenth century, this is the trap they were talking about. Why? Because the Victor® Clean-Kill Mouse Trap is unlike other traps in that it offers a no-see, no-touch experience with easy, stress-free baiting and setting.

These clever little covered rodent traps look like a perfectly innocent little tunnel for unsuspecting mice. Once the mouse enters the trap to take the bait, however, it’s in the perfect position for the Kill-Gate™ to produce a quick, humane Clean-Kill™. The unique tunnel design increases mouse interaction, and since the bait trough is located at the back of the trap, bait theft is a thing of the past.

Clean-Kill Features

To empty the trap, simply hold the setting button down, while pulling up on the Kill Gate™ to dispose of the dead mouse. The Clean-Kill™ doesn’t use chemicals or poisons, so it’s ideal for households with children or pets. Plus, it’s highly durable plastic construction means the Clean-Kill™ can be used over and over or disposed of at your discretion.

Easy-to-use instructions for setting the Clean-Kill™ are printed directly on the covered mouse trap. Here’s how it works:

  1. Open the bait door located on the back of the trap.
  2. Using a Q-tip, toothpick or other tool to mask your scent, bait the trap by placing peanut butter or anything high in protein like chocolate or hazelnut spread in the bait trough.
  3. Close the bait door.
  4. Hold down the setting button while pulling up on the Kill-Gate™ to set the trap.
  5. Place the trap wherever you’ve seen signs of rodent activity, or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. Two traps should be used and placed back-to-back lengthwise against the wall.
  6. After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.

Helpfulness
"Tunnel of Death"
5
Jul 28, 2019
I call this one the "Tunnel of Death".....now in their third year of SUCCESSFUL action some of them are malfunctioning, so I will GLADLY order some new ones! We live in rural Santa Fe County, New Mexico and wish I had kept statistics on how many mice and/or " young" pack rats we have caught with these....I empty them in a juniper grove which I suspect is frequented by neighborhood coyotes, but maybe its the crows who "take them away"....peanut butter works great as bait in our experience

DOA

I bought a 2 pack to try new types of traps ... right out of the package, only one worked.. the other won't set or if you can eventually set it, it will snap on it's own shortly afterward. These are the only traps available to the mice, yet not a single mouse caught. I see mouse droppings, have spotted mice when I turn on a light.. but I only have one working trap and apparently not tempting to the mice. Regret trying this type.

Hello,We appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback and are sorry to hear that you have not experienced the success we typically see with this trap. We recommend baiting traps with peanut butter, just the amount that will fit on the end of a toothpick. This product is covered by a 30-day guarantee and a 1-year warranty with a copy of the purchase receipt. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) with any questions.

This worked like a charm in one night. Wanted something to make a clean and quick kill and didn't have to see what the trap did except for picking it up from the ring and dropping it in a bag for disposal. Surprisingly my placement was not perfect, I placed it in the drop ceiling above the basement bathroom right next to the "T" Bar so decided to place the second trap in the same location to see what happens tonight. Oh, they really love Peanut Butter!

Worthless

Worthless. I use the basic snap trap with the yellow pedal, and it works all the time. Trouble is, that trap is so sensitive it frustrates me taking 10 or 20 tries to get the rod to stay in the pedal, so I tried this trap. It's easy to bait and set, but two traps have been sitting on the garage floor for two weeks with nary a mouse caught. A few years ago I tried another brand's trap that has an opening into which the mouse must venture to get caught, and that didn't work, either. My guess is that mice won't go into an enclosed trap, but they are suckers for the snap trap out in the open.

We are sorry to hear about this recent experience and appreciate the feedback regarding this trap. When given a choice of baits, mice will usually go for the one that appears most accessible. In order to see the full potential of a trap with an enclosed bait, we recommend removing open snap traps from the area. Feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) with questions on any of our products.

We bought these traps for our 85 year old mother because my sister recommended them. She has only had a mouse once before and my niece was living there and caught it. This time she saw the mouse and was very anxious about it when my sister said not only do they work but our mother wouldn't have to see the mouse when he gets caught and it worked! The mouse was caught just a couple of days after we set the trap.

102 down and more to go.

Returned from a winter in Arizona and found residence over run with mice. Have tried all kinds of traps in the past with limited success...except with the tried and true wood base Victor snap traps. I've even started to photograph my successes. Kinda sick huh? But the little buggers deserve some kind of obit. So far 102 mice and one slug in two months. . I dump the mice on the edge of our woodland and crows pick them up daily. A natural recycling program. The Victor snap traps are the best...low cost and reusable!

Don't work

Promising at first, easy to set. But my country mice have not been able to trip them at all. Old models of a different design have been catching mice while these remain empty. Even when I took the other traps away, these were disturbed but not tripped. Totally useless sorry to say.

Victor® has a long history of producing high-quality and reliable products. We are sorry to hear the expected results were not seen. When setting this trap, we recommend placing two traps end-to-end along a wall where mice activity has been seen.  This should increase the catch rate as they will approach an opening from either direction.  Please give our Consumer Relations Team a call at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for additional assistance.
DIDN´T DO IT FOR MY UNFORTUNATELY

Set 3 of these about a week ago... no mice yet. I do know for a fact there are mice because I see the droppings. Just to confirm I had mice I also put a very small bait in the path of the traps and the next day they were gone and the droppings keep showing up. I´ve changed the type of bait, even the position of the bait.. and nothing. I purchased these because I had apparently been the luck recipient of a full litter of mice, and I had been buying the regular classic wooden traps, those were working like a charm, set one every night, woke up to find a mouse there every morning. Decided to get these because of the reusable feature since I was going through one trap a day, and because of the easier set up (i.e. less risk of getting my fingers smashed). Unfortunately they didn´t work, I´m now about $20 short and no mice caught. One star is for the ease of setup.

Thank you for sharing this experience. We apologize that the desired results were not seen when using this trap. Mice will often look to steal bait that is easiest to access, which may be why the snap traps are receiving successful catches and the bait at the entrance of these traps have been taken. If there have not been successful catches after the trap has been in one position for a few days, we recommend relocating it to a different position. Keep in mind that mice prefer to travel along walls for safety. Our traps are covered under a 30 day return policy. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for additional assistance.
Doesn't work, stick with the classics.

I bought four of these for $10 at the local Farm & Fleet after seeing mice droppings in my basement. All have been knocked over each day I check them, half the time the trap is tripped but no mice. After three days I bought four of the basic wire traps they make ($3.50) and caught two mice last night. Stick with the classic trap.

Hello Thom,We apologize for this unusual experience and would like the opportunity to learn more.  This trap is tripped when a mouse enters and pushes on the wall beyond the Kill-Gate™.  It should not trip if the trap is knocked over.  We recommend placing two traps back-to-back lengthwise along a wall where mouse activity has been seen.  Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for additional assistance. This trap is covered by a one year replacement warranty.
