Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap - A New Twist on a Classic Design
Simplify your rodent control routine with the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap. Using the original wooden snap trap design with an improved larger trip pedal to ensure higher catch rates, this trap will help you to effectively eliminate rodents around your household or business. Two settings, Firm and Sensitive, allow you to control the sensitivity of the trap. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings. In addition, these traps require no chemicals or poisons.
Expanded Trigger Plate
The Wide Pedal Mouse Trap enhances the classic snap trap design by adding a large plastic trigger plate to ensure higher catch rates. The expanded size means it can be easily activated both by rodent interest in food and through accidental contact as mice scamper across the floor.
Easy 4-Step Setup
For your convenience, the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap is very easy to use. Get your trap setup by following these four simple steps:
Release the Arm Bar - Remove the staple and move it so the arm hangs over the back of the trap.
Bait the Trap - Apply bait on the plastic pedal for best results. Use a high-protein bait such as peanut butter or hazelnut spread.
Hold Securely - Pull back the kill bar and hold it securely with your thumb.
Set the Trap - Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.
Location, Location, Location
Set the trap in areas where you have noticed high levels of rodent activity. Rodents tend to travel along walls, so placement in this location often works best. For maximum effectiveness, use multiple traps, placed at 2 to 3 foot intervals to increase results. Place the trap with the baited end flush against the wall.
Quick & Effective
Once a rodent triggers the pedal, the Wide Pedal Mouse Trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. After a catch, simply lift the kill bar to dispose of the mouse and reuse the trap or, dispose of the entire trap for quick, clean removal. It’s your decision!

"BEST TRAP ON THE MARKET! I purchased the easy set traps because of the tension adjustment (either hard or soft) I have tried other traps and even using a side-by-side comparison, the Victor traps captured the rodent every time. Victor is the only trap I'll buy from now on. It works, it's durable and easy to set!"

Mouse Trap Instructions
Release the arm bar from the staple.
Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back of the trap.
Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread or bacon to the yellow plastic pedal on the trap as shown. Use a Q-tip, toothpick or another tool to bait to avoid transferring your scent to the trap.
Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.
Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.
After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.
I’ve been using the victor wooden mouse trap for years. I just bought 4 wooden traps at tractor supply. I bought two packs of the wooden traps with two traps in each. I set two traps they didn’t go off so I opened the second pack I went to set the traps and both traps fell apart. The first one when I pulled it back the spring came detached from the wood. The second trap was good until I pulled the trap back to set it and the spring came unattached from the wood and snapped my finger. This is very poor quality control!!
I will not and would not use or recommend this product again.
The trap is sensitive and effective. Gingerly placing the trap is key but but the hammer trips so fast that mice barely have a chance. The catch triggers the trap well enough that I've had one out of 20 set traps come up empty. I can usually reset them with little bait taken!

I prefer the wide pedal mouse trap over the metal pedal mouse trap. I always set the arm bar to the most sensitive area under the plastic pedal, however, this requires care placing it into position or it may trigger. The result is nearly 100% kill rate leaving most or all of the peanut butter still on the pedal. Most times I can just reset the trap for the next kill. The Victor Wide Pedal snap trap is the only trap I’ll use, the statistics speak for themselves.
The old Victor traps were perfect! The new plastic paddle is garbage! It will not stay set and if it is sprung even twice the bait paddle separates from the trap. It's worthless.
TAKE THIS TRAP OFF THE MARKET
Horrible! These traps are a pain in the ass to set with the bar being barely long enough to put it into the yellow plastic. Buy the ones with the metal trigger, those ACTUALLY work.
This is one of the best examples of how to take a great product can screw it up by improving it. I've been setting traps for decades using the traditional wire catch versus the new plastic one. It worked great. If victor thought the problem was the bays, and they should have made a wire wider base with a table metal catch. Instead, they created a plastic slippery underside for the catch, which literally makes it impossible to set. Now remember, I've been doing this for 30 years. And probably it's set hundreds of old victor traps, and if I can't get it to work, imagine what people new to the business of mouse catching, have problem. I will actually pay more to have an old trap if I can find them versus these horrible plastic ones. Fix the problem of the platform, not the catch.
Well they’re all set, remember to look at the picture… the plastic part has to come up a little bit for the arm to fit under and keep it set. Hopefully catch the mice soon!:)
Just trying to set the new traps with the plastic, they are a total JOKE!!! I tried adjusting them by bending the metal U hook towards the plastic to try to set them - got 1 out of 6 to set. I'm sure it will pop before any mice get to the trap. You use to make a good product. I'm shocked you have not recalled them. They are defective and dangerous trying to set them.
