With one simple “click,” the Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap is ready to catch the unwanted rats in your home. The Power Kill’s oversized pedal is easily activated. When the rodent triggers the pedal, the powerful jaw immediately closes for a quick, humane kill on contact.
How to Use
Set-up is fast and easy for the Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap! Simply fill the bait trough with bait, pull back the High-Impact Kill-Bar™ until it “clicks” into position, and place the trap in desired location. This trap is convenient for both indoor and outdoor use.
How it Works
For your convenience, the trap comes with a large bait trough for easy bait placement. The temptation of rat’s favorite food lures them to step on the oversized pedal. Once the pedal is activated, the powerful kill bar is released, ensuring a quick humane kill. To reuse the trap, simply lift up on the kill bar to release the rat to save the trap, or for a one-time-use dispose of the trap.
The Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap was created for trapping in hard-to-access places. It can be placed in locations indoors and outdoors. Each trap features two holes on the back for attachment to pipes, beams, and other places where rats thrive. Contains no poison, making it an ideal trap for homes with young children and pets. First this review is for the tan color power kill (as pictured in the operational video) not the black one pictured above. There is no sleeve on the kill board. Obtain this model/color some years ago and never used it. Recently after noticing rodent signs and two purchases of poison and no effect, discovered it, baited it, set it and instant success. One large rat and two smaller rats.
Have videos of rats getting caught by the "kill bar" only to escape, because the red tubing on the bars rolls on the smooth metal and the rat is able to wriggle free.
Also appears that there is not as much force coming down on the bar to be able to kill or keep the animal trapped.
Really disappointed with this trap. I’ve found the bait missing and the trap was not triggering. I also changed bait hoping it was too easy to remove or insects/mice got to it. Returned to find the bait gone again and the trigger fully depressed without the trap actuating. I borrowed the old style wooden trap with a small metal trigger and stronger spring. It was successful.
I don't know what purpose the plastic sleeve on the kill bar is supposed to accomplish, but it is obvious that, if it is successful once, blood and gore will get trapped between the plastic and the metal and the smell of that will warn further rats away.
MASSIVE DESIGN FLAW. Its cruel if the mouse doesn't go in the right way. If it goes in backwards, as soon as it steps on the pressure plate, it'll get trapped while STILL ALIVE. I woke up to one still alive in this specific model, the bar was crushing it halfway down its body. It probably thrashed around long before I saw it. Instant kill? No. Not when they can suffer in pain for hours until they die of crushed organs or internal bleeding.
These traps really work! I don't put bait in them. I place them next to the wall where the mice or rats run and when they go through the trap either way they get caught and are killed. It even caught a snake. But I turned it loose, it was a good snake.
