Keep your yard free of burrowing critters with Victor Mole & Gopher Poison Peanuts. The handy peanut pellets act as both a bait and a killer to eliminate moles and gophers and stop lawn damage fast. Plus, the cone tip design and precision tube makes it easy to pour pellets into active tunnels. With 6 oz. of peanuts, this container includes plenty of bait to rid yourself of burrowing animals.
Palatable Bait
Victor® Mole & Gopher Poison Peanuts eliminate moles and gophers doing damage in your yard. First, the peanuts are designed to look and taste extremely palatable to burrowing rodents. After ingesting the poison peanuts, the active ingredient, Zinc Phosphide, soon exterminates them.
Punch Holes with Cone Tip
For your convenience, the cleverly designed container features a cone tip that allows you to punch holes in tunnel surfaces for easy pellet application. After identifying active areas, simply poke a hole in the top of the tunnel with the pointed end of the cone. There are no tools needed!
How to Use Poison Peanuts
Victor® Mole & Gopher Poison Peanuts are incredibly easy to use. Note: this product should not be placed in areas that are easily accessible to children and pets.
Prior to treatment, determine which burrows are active by pressing down a small section of the tunnel. The burrow is active if the flattened runway is raised again or the roof has been repaired within 48 hours.
After identifying active burrows, carefully punch a hole in the top of the tunnels with pointed end of cone.
Next, drop in a teaspoon of poison peanuts and carefully close the tunnel with sod or stone.
Do not collapse the runway again or allow loose soil to cover the bait.
After a few days, check the burrows to see if they are still active. If so, repeat treatment.
While wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of exposed dead animals.
The poison peanuts are generally effective. Application should be made preferentially in tunnels near fresh mounds. In areas where there are mounds tightly packed whether new or old seem to indicate a “residential area” and also can be a good area for application. I use a homemade steel rebar rod tool with a sharply ground pointed end to locate a tunnel and then verify it with a 3/4 inch PVC Pipe with a ground beveled end to confirm the tunnel and providing a hole to drop in the poison. I use a table spoon to measure the poison, which is more than Victor recommends. The hole must be carefully cover so that no light gets in. And there cannot be dirt on top of the peanuts. The Victor peanuts are the most efficient way to kill gophers because you can seed tunnels quickly many times faster than using traps, for example. The success rate is definitely at least as good as carefully and laboriously installing traps. When I use traps, I always insert Victor peanuts ahead of the traps (two traps are used at tunnel location). I have a ranch with lots of acreage with fertile easily dug soil and this lots of gophers to fight, so the speed with which the peanuts can be deployed is a big help.
I'm on my third cone of pellets and have used a complete bottle of spray, neither appear to work. I've been at this for months and they haven't left nor apparently died. I've used a couple of other products in past years that I bought on line and at a nursery. Can't fiind those anymore. So I was stuck with Victor products. Wasted my money, my time and still have not positive result.
The spray is terrible and seems to not want to come out of the bottle spray container. The pellets don't help.
You have to keep at the moles, they are creative and persistent. Just keep actively watching and poking at the fresh mounds, adding a teaspoon of product into the tunnel. Use a small stick instead of the cone. It might take a few weeks. You have to keep going outside every 4 hours and checking for new mounds. This is what worked for me. At 4pm one day, I actually saw with my own eyes, a new tunnel being created. I could see the top of the tunnel growing across the yard, along the fence line, at about a rate of 6 feet per hour. So I poked a few holes in this tunnel, very stealthlike, and quietly, not to disturb them. And about 24 hours later, there was an odor of a dead rodent. Worked!
I've tried both the peanut & worms and to be fair either one has not helped. 6 pack of peanuts & 3 boxes of worms. I followed the TIPS but still to no avail. Im wondering if I doing something wrong or these VOLES are building Condominiums below. Im wiling to try again but as of now spent considerable amount of money for both. Suggestions?? before I get evicted from these guys
Sorry to hear about this! These products are not recommended for voles. We do offer a variety of repellents and baits for voles however. Please give us a call at 855-584-2867 for assistance. We're happy to help!

It doesn't seem to work. I've followed directions but I keep getting more mounds in the yard. I was gone for about 2 hrs this afternoon and came home to 3 more mounds. Very disappointed.

Just finishing a case (6?) of these. "0" results. The mounds are actually more frequent, larger, and don't seem to ever touch the bait. If they do, it hasn't killed one.
We are sorry to hear that you had such unusual results! Please feel free to contact us directly so we can learn more and work with you make this right! - Susan

My husband and I used at least two 'cones' of these pellets down several open holes. Each time a new hole opened, another application was made. Most distressing were friends standing in our driveway watching 6 foot Mammoth Sunflowers with 12 inch heads get pulled completely underground in less than five minutes. Stunning sight. Open hole applications on either end of the 9 plants lost over two weeks. Managed to trap one female pocket gophers in another area of the yard near a bird feeder. Not a trace that the product was working.
We're sorry to hear you didn't see the success that's typical of this product!. It is important to target active tunnels. Please contact us at 855-584-2867 for assistance, we're happy to help. - Kathryn

Fantastic product!!! The only product I have found that kills chipmunks. And in their holes. Discarded my rat traps, darn rats got to smart for them.
Just wish I could buy this product in bulk. Four or five pounds at a time.
Your mole killer is a farce. It does not kill moles. I have gone through several cones over the last two months. They are still tearing up my front and back yard. I'm wasting my money on your product.

Does this product work for voles or just on moles as they are two different rodents?
Question by: Sandra on Feb 18, 2025, 6:59 AM
Thank you very much for contacting us. It would be our pleasure to assist you.
The poison peanut formula is specifically designed to attract moles and gophers. This product was not tested on other animals and should NOT be used above ground.
For voles, we recommend using the Victor® Rodent Killer (M925) or the Victor® Dual-Action Mole & Gopher Repellent (M7001-1).
If you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

Applied the Peanuts about three weeks ago and appears to work. When will it be safe for my son to have have his dog in our yard again?
Question by: Scott McIntyre on Oct 31, 2024, 6:38 AM
If the peanuts were placed in tunnels and then completely covered, it should be fine as long as the dog is supervised to prevent digging open the tunnels. Also be aware that secondary poisoning could occur if the dog eats a mole or gopher that ingested the peanuts.

What happens to uneaten pellets?
Question by: Stoney butler on Mar 2, 2025, 1:03 PM
Thank you for your question!
Regarding the pellets, they remain active for approximately 6 months. If they are not consumed, they will stay in place and eventually break down into fertilizer.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call us.
