Helpfulness
The poison peanuts are effective
Feb 27, 2025
The poison peanuts are generally effective. Application should be made preferentially in tunnels near fresh mounds. In areas where there are mounds tightly packed whether new or old seem to indicate a “residential area” and also can be a good area for application. I use a homemade steel rebar rod tool with a sharply ground pointed end to locate a tunnel and then verify it with a 3/4 inch PVC Pipe with a ground beveled end to confirm the tunnel and providing a hole to drop in the poison. I use a table spoon to measure the poison, which is more than Victor recommends. The hole must be carefully cover so that no light gets in. And there cannot be dirt on top of the peanuts. The Victor peanuts are the most efficient way to kill gophers because you can seed tunnels quickly many times faster than using traps, for example. The success rate is definitely at least as good as carefully and laboriously installing traps. When I use traps, I always insert Victor peanuts ahead of the traps (two traps are used at tunnel location). I have a ranch with lots of acreage with fertile easily dug soil and this lots of gophers to fight, so the speed with which the peanuts can be deployed is a big help.
I'm on my third cone ...
Oct 11, 2024
I'm on my third cone of pellets and have used a complete bottle of spray, neither appear to work. I've been at this for months and they haven't left nor apparently died. I've used a couple of other products in past years that I bought on line and at a nursery. Can't fiind those anymore. So I was stuck with Victor products. Wasted my money, my time and still have not positive result.
The spray is terrible and seems to not want to come out of the bottle spray container. The pellets don't help.
You have to keep at it

You have to keep at the moles, they are creative and persistent. Just keep actively watching and poking at the fresh mounds, adding a teaspoon of product into the tunnel. Use a small stick instead of the cone. It might take a few weeks. You have to keep going outside every 4 hours and checking for new mounds. This is what worked for me. At 4pm one day, I actually saw with my own eyes, a new tunnel being created. I could see the top of the tunnel growing across the yard, along the fence line, at about a rate of 6 feet per hour. So I poked a few holes in this tunnel, very stealthlike, and quietly, not to disturb them. And about 24 hours later, there was an odor of a dead rodent. Worked!
I've tried both the peanut ...
Sep 22, 2022
I've tried both the peanut & worms and to be fair either one has not helped. 6 pack of peanuts & 3 boxes of worms. I followed the TIPS but still to no avail. Im wondering if I doing something wrong or these VOLES are building Condominiums below. Im wiling to try again but as of now spent considerable amount of money for both. Suggestions?? before I get evicted from these guys
It doesn't seem to work.

It doesn't seem to work. I've followed directions but I keep getting more mounds in the yard. I was gone for about 2 hrs this afternoon and came home to 3 more mounds. Very disappointed.

No results at all.

Just finishing a case (6?) of these. "0" results. The mounds are actually more frequent, larger, and don't seem to ever touch the bait. If they do, it hasn't killed one.
They were inviting the neighborhood gophers over for a block party picnic.

My husband and I used at least two 'cones' of these pellets down several open holes. Each time a new hole opened, another application was made. Most distressing were friends standing in our driveway watching 6 foot Mammoth Sunflowers with 12 inch heads get pulled completely underground in less than five minutes. Stunning sight. Open hole applications on either end of the 9 plants lost over two weeks. Managed to trap one female pocket gophers in another area of the yard near a bird feeder. Not a trace that the product was working.

Fantastic product!!! The only product I have found that kills chipmunks. And in their holes. Discarded my rat traps, darn rats got to smart for them.
Just wish I could buy this product in bulk. Four or five pounds at a time.
Does not work

Your mole killer is a farce. It does not kill moles. I have gone through several cones over the last two months. They are still tearing up my front and back yard. I'm wasting my money on your product.
