The Victor® Electronic Rat Trap is the ultimate in rodent control. It works by delivering a humane, high-voltage shock to kill rats and mice that enter the chamber. Featuring a sleek, simple design, this trap allows for easy setup and No-See, No-Touch™ disposal. The trap also uses convenient LED lights to alert you of catches and low battery power.
Quick, Humane Kill
Once powered on, the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap uses smart circuit technology to deliver a humane, high-voltage shock, effectively killing rats and mice. This powerful device can kill up to 35 rats per set of batteries, making it a great value when you’re dealing with a sizable infestation.
No-See, No-Touch™ Disposal
With the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap, disposing of rats is a breeze. After a catch, an LED light blinks green, so you know when it’s time to empty the trap. Then just power off the trap and empty the chamber into the trash without ever having to touch the dead rodent. There’s no mess and no rodent contact.
Easy to Use
The Victor® Electronic Rat Trap takes the hassle out of eliminating rats. To use, apply a small amount of bait on the rear shock plate, turn the trap on, and place it along the wall near signs of rodent activity. In case of false triggers, this trap has an automatic re-arming feature so it can be triggered again without you needing to reset it.
It worked but I broke it trying to open the trap and clean the rot smell to reset it. Apparently the older traps allowed easy access to clean. Now I’m out the money on something advertised for reuse.
We're sorry to hear about your experience. The Victor® Electronic Rat Trap is designed to be reusable, and cleaning should be performed by removing the kill chamber from the trap before wiping the interior with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. The trap should never be submerged in water or taken apart beyond the removable components, as this can damage the unit. Allow all parts to dry completely before reassembling and reusing the trap. We appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with our product team.

I didn’t not work at all.
I bought this style so I could work on my rodent problem while having crippling fear and anxiety about them. The idea was I didn’t have to see or touch the animal and I could despise of it without paying a professional hundred of dollars.
It didn’t work at all. The rat would just push the trap around trying to get at the bait from the wrong side. Money down the drain since I switch back to the snap traps which caught the animal in one day. But now I have to pay more money to have someone help me dispose of it.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when you were looking for a solution that felt easier to manage. For best results with the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap, bait should be placed in the designated bait cup at the back of the trap using a small amount of high-protein bait such as peanut butter, and the trap should be positioned lengthwise along a wall with the entrance facing the rodent’s travel path, as rats typically move along walls. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our products.

Very bad redesign.

Very bad redesign. The updated rat trap is flimsy, smaller, and you can't open it to clean or bait. I will not buy your electric rat traps again unless you go back to the old design. Shame on you for cheapening a great product to make it so user unfriendly!
We’re sorry to hear the updated Victor® Electronic Rat Trap did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the design changes. For best performance, the bait should be placed in the designated bait cup at the back of the trap, and the kill chamber can be cleaned by following the care instructions in the product guide after use. We understand that product design preferences can vary, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Took 3 days, but got my fat rat. The “Tomcat” gel bait didn’t work, but a chunk of soft cheese did the trick. The rat was found just outside of the trap, and the trap was a couple feet away from the fence indicating a struggle. We tried the more traditional traps with no luck.
I look forward to killing the remainder of this rat’s family.
Terrible redesign.. I had to replace the older model which I had for years. This one is too small for larger rats and probably okay for mice. Hard to clean and bait. I’ve bought Victor traps for years but not again unless this is fixed.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations. This model is designed for typical-sized rats, so placement and setup can make a big difference in performance.
For best results, place a small amount of bait (like peanut butter) inside the bait cup at the back of the trap to ensure proper positioning. When cleaning, turn the unit off and use a damp cloth with hydrogen peroxide to wipe the interior, avoiding excess moisture on electronic components. Placing the trap along walls where rodents travel can also improve effectiveness.

No where NEAR as good ...md

No where NEAR as good as the earlier model. Redesigning that into this was a colossal mistake..
1) much much harder to clean
2) much more difficult to bait without a bait door
3) using smaller batteries instead of the original c cells means it won’t run as long.
I’m now looking at other models (by companies that copied the earlier model which was way better) and I will never buy nor recommend a victor electronic trap again.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback on the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap. We’re sorry to hear this model didn’t meet your expectations, especially compared to the earlier version. This design was intended to offer reliable performance with updated components, but we understand that cleaning, baiting, and battery life are important factors in day-to-day use.
For best results, using a small amount of bait placed toward the back of the chamber and following the recommended cleaning steps in the instructions can help with usability and performance.

Don't waste your money
Nothing makes sense.
Glorified toy.
Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap. We’re sorry to hear about your experience. This trap is designed to deliver a quick, effective result when set up as directed, so the outcome you described isn’t expected. Ensuring fresh batteries are installed, the trap is placed directly along rat travel paths, and the bait cup is properly filled can help improve performance.

100% waste of your money

The redesigned electronic trap is absolute garbage.
It’s as if the the so-called engineers at Victor didn’t even test the product or try to actually use it before they sent it off to production.
Why it is a useless waste of your money:
1) No bait door anymore - makes it much more difficult to load effective liquid baits, peanut butter or others compared to the superior older model.
2) Smaller battery capacity: AA’s are now required instead of larger C batteries (like the previous model) you’ll have to change batteries out more often
3) The worst: you can longer slide the top off for easy cleaning. Makes it much more difficult to clean effectively.
Clearly, this was a solution looking for a problem as the previous model was a far better design. Luckily, there are other manufacturers out there that make a similar design to the old Victor style (which I still have two of) and that’s what I will be buying after I throw the two newer victor traps in the trash.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap. We’re sorry to hear the redesigned model did not meet your expectations. We understand your concerns regarding bait loading, battery type, and cleaning, and we appreciate you outlining those points.
For baiting, placing a small amount directly in the bait cup is recommended to ensure proper activation. Using fresh batteries and checking that the trap is fully seated and clean between uses can also help performance. The design changes were made to support consistent triggering when used as directed, but the experience you described is not what we want customers to have.
If the trap is not working as intended, please give us a call at 1-855-584-2867 (Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–7 PM EST) and our team will be happy to assist further.

Picked one of these up for an active infestation in my garage. Took a few days, as expected, for them to get comfortable around it, but each morning has been punctuated with the discovery of a fresh kill. The local ravens appear to be rather thankful for the free, undamaged meals in the morning, as disposal for me is simply asking nature to do its thing--and finding accord.
I didn't skimp on batteries or gamble with any laying around my home. I figure this thing uses some capacitors and circuits that need solid performance and strong voltage maintenance over time, so I went with the pricier electronics-oriented battery formulations.
How much longer the device may last could revise my sentiment, but not this review; it's proven capable and effective while making removal an effortless and clean process in short order; precisely when and where I needed it to.
Thank you for your rating on the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap. We appreciate you taking the time to share this with us, as your feedback helps us continue improving our products.

Lousy Design

This design is not as nice as the previous design. Previously the top could come off for easy access to the inside (i.e. for cleaning). I can’t easily get my hand inside the front hole on this design and I hate it. And this design no longer has the bait door.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap. We’re sorry to hear this design didn’t meet your expectations. The current model has a fixed top and front access opening, so cleaning may require using a brush or cloth rather than reaching inside by hand. Bait is placed directly in the back of the trap, which replaces the previous bait door.
In the past I used an earlier model of your rat catcher with great success. The new model does not seem to be working at all. No matter the lure, new batteries, or different placement the rat seems to be able to go right into the trap with no adverse effect. In fact I seem to be feeding it. After I turn it on the green light flashes a few times and then goes out. I don’t hear any buzzing noise as I did with the earlier unit. Any suggestions on how to make the unit actually perform

We recommend put brand new batteries, if the issue persist you can give us a call since our products have one year warranty.
Answer by: Rachel (Admin) on Nov 27, 2024, 3:44 PM
This new trap design is not effective. I’ve used the old design for YEARS with GREAT SUCCESS but this new trap just has the bait stolen with no kills. It’s also very lightweight and larger rodents drag it around.
There’s also no buzzing sound after I turn the power on, I don’t know if it’s actually on or not. It seems that the smaller batteries and he’s design aren’t powerful enough to get the job done.
Question by: Eirie on Dec 28, 2024, 10:22 AM
Hi, Thank you so much for your question!
Based on the information that we have, you have to apply just a pea size of bait inside of the trap, which will prevent the rodents from stealing the bait also, When you turn on the trap it will just flash once and then go off, there should not be any buzzing sound. If you have any questions or other issues please call us at 1-855-584-2867.
Answer by: Victor (Admin) on Dec 30, 2024, 8:46 AM
When I first bought the trap and turned it on the green light would come on for a few seconds. Now when I turn it on the green light blinks three times and then turns off. What does that mean?
Also, there is no buzzing sound after about a minute when I turn it on.

On the Electronic Rat Trap Model M241B, it states that it will "kill rats and mice". The response to a FAQ stated that the rodent "needed to touch all 3 metal plates" for the current to activate. If so, how are mice killed if they are too small to touch all 3 plates at once?
Question by: Debbie on Oct 19, 2025, 12:56 PM
Once the animal enters the trap and moves toward the bait located at the back, it naturally positions itself in a way that allows contact with all three metal plates.
