Works easy and good results By Dee

With a little peanut butter I am able to rid my house of rats. Once the rats go inside they are killed. I do not have to worry about a messy cleanup. Light on box let's me know one is killed and I simply discard rat in garbage can . I place more peanut butter in slot opening if needed.

Good so far... By TT

So far so good. One mouse caught. I used peanut butter in the tray and put some avocados in as well. Weather has been bad with rain and cold but I have not seen any mice or rats since I put the traps out.

5 star product By Chase

I bought these trap as replacement for my older...not working so great electronic traps. In the first 3 days I had 5 rats terminated in my barn. Easy to bait, clean and I like the sound of the humm when you turn the trap on to let you know it is working.

Excellent product By Chase

Love this product. I bought this model to replace earlier version. It is easy to clean, love the bait cup door on the back side. In the first five days I had them set, seven rats were eradicated by the two traps. Oddly enough two of the rats were caught during day light hours.

Design flaw if there are small mice By TE

I bought one of these to try and used sunflower seeds to as a lead. The peanut butter was put into the end where it says to put the bait. it appears smaller mice rather than a rat was able to slip through the holes at the end, eat ALL of the peanut butter and trail of sunflower seeds leading into the trap. After the third day all the bait was completely eaten and no kills. It seems to be due to a design flaw. Smaller rodents can enter the trap through one of the five holes, eat all the bait and not get zapped. It appears the mice that sat and ate the bait were able to do so safely as the rear metal plate alone does not complete a circuit. This is very disappointing given the high price point for this trap. I cleaned the trap and trying again but have taped up the holes with duct tape this time. Hoping it works otherwise this becomes a very expensive and not very useful product that goes into the garbage.

fail By JW

I was really disappointed in this product. I put the bait in and the next morning the bait is gone but no rodent inside.

Response From Victor®
Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

We are very sorry to hear of this experience! When baiting the trap, it is important to remember a little goes a long way. We recommend baiting with a toothpick amount of peanut butter in the bait cup provided at the back of the trap. Anything more than that, and the rodent may be able to access the bait without going all the way into the back of the trap. The device is activated when the rodent steps on two plates at the same time. If any bait is touching the metal plates, it could cause the unit to falsely activate or the rat may not receive the full shock that is needed to kill them.

To proceed, we recommend cleaning the trap by wiping the metal plates with a hydrogen peroxide solution (first turning the trap off and removing the batteries). Once the unit has dried, it can be re-baited and set again.

Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) with any questions or for additional assistance.

Q.What is warranty for these traps?

This trap is backed by a 30 day return policy and covered under a one year replacement policy.

Q.What is the difference between the BM 241 trap and the M 241 trap

The M241 traps is the same. The B is indicating that it is a bundle.

Q.I have a rat living in my car engine. I have considered your snap traps/glue traps/poison, and am worried that if the rat is only injured, he may crawl off into engine compartment somewhere, and not be retrievable. I tried a Havahart trap - and he was too smart for that - he would just reach in from the side to get the bait. Would your shock traps be OK outside, but within the engine compartment? They would not be exposed to wet conditions, but may be cold at night. ( I do know I would have to remove prior to driving!) Thank you.

We do not recommend using traps or repellents anywhere near an engine bay of a vehicle.
