Best of all, no poisons to harm the environment. I Highly recommend it and would give it more than five stars if I were allowed to.
Review RateThe best rat trapWith out a doubt the best most humane rat trap there is. I have been using it for seven days now. I have euthanized 7 rats. 1 per day and counting. Kills the rat instantly with no pain. No smell and no mess. Very very easy to use. I put it up on top of a block wall where a lot of rats roam at night.
Highly recommend. The best thing is there are no poisons to harm the environment.
Review RateWeak system
I’ve had this trap for about 6 months and the first (and only) rat catch was super successful! However, I’ve noticed an increase in the amount of rats that I’m hearing at night and no more catches. I’ve tried replacing the batteries and making sure that the electronic buzzer still works (it does) but the buzzing sound is faint. I’m assuming it’s strength has depleted for some reason and I’m close to resorting to old fashioned snap traps. Any suggestions would help!Response From Victor®Kristen : Consumer Relations Representative
The buzzing sound can be very faint even if the trap is working fine. If the rats are not taking the bait, try using a different bait and changing the placement of the trap. If the bait is being taken, it may be that mice are taking the bait - they are small enough that they might not trigger the trap when they enter.
Review RateShockingly Good
Well I was curious about this trap. I hate emptying the standard snap trap so I thought this would be worth giving a go. Holy crap was I not disappointed. I got a notification 4 hours after I placed the trap that a rodent had been caught. Upon investigation I discovered an absolutely massive rat that easily took up the entire interior of the trap. Its butt hanging out the end. It was good and dead! Clean up and resetting of the trap was nice and easy as well. Money well spent.
Review RateDoesn't last very long
Bought the trap in Oct 2018. Killed one mouse. Installed it at a customer's house last month. The rats cleaned the trap out, twice. We cleaned the trap, replaced the batteries and checked that it was actually arcing (it was). He got a message stating there was a kill. Trap was cleaned out yet again. Unfortunately, it is out of warranty. My guess is that the capacitor is of inferior quality. I would love to use these traps as part of my business but the cost is too high considering the longevity of the product.Response From Victor®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative
These traps are most effective when non-rechargeable batteries are used. It's also important to not overbait the traps since overbaiting can cause the trap to falsely trigger. I experienced rats in the attic and was capturing them with an old-fashioned rat spring trap. The challenge was that I needed to take out my ladder every few days and check which was a major inconvenience. This was why when I came across the WiFi Rat Trap I was very excited because I would know the status of the trap at all times. However, what I have discovered while using the product is the following: - No audible sound or visual indicator that the shock component of the trap is working. After 4 months of using the trap without any kills and still using a spring loaded rat trap that is killing rats, you begin to question if the electronic rat trap is working. - Even placing steel wool in the trap, there is very little spark again supporting does this trap have enough shock to kill a rat. However, when calling Victor about the product and getting support, it was one of the best experiences I have encountered. The rep was very helpful and pleasant. They provided me a replacement product at no cost. This is the reason why Victor products will always be my first choice. My rating for this product would increase if there was a visual indicator that the trap is working plus I would have a few kills.Response From Victor®Jules : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateOnly worked twice then it doesn’t work anymore
It killed two rats, then it didn’t work anymore!! Even I replaced new batteries, the rat just went inside ate the bait and came out harmlessly. I had Arlos recording the actions!! The ROI of victor is too low! Only two rats then it burned out!!Response From Victor®Lauren : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateAlmost 5 stars!
4 out of 5 stars. The power light on the unit out of the box didn’t work with brand new batteries but I went through the setup process anyway. I have been trying to catch a nuisance mouse in my bedroom for a while without luck. So, I baited and positioned the unit along the wall where I could hear the mouse traveling and within an hour, I kid you not; I heard it zapping the little sucker and it notified me on my phone after 2 minutes! So effective! Now only if the lights on the unit worked so I knew if it was for sure working or not, it would definitely be 5 stars!
Review RateNot working at this point
Not sure it works. Setup was easy, but so far I have had the food in the trap eaten twice but rodent caught or killed.Response From Victor®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Victor® Smart-Kill™ Electronic Rat Trap - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: CAN THE TRAP BE USED OUTDOORS?
A: No, an electronic trap cannot be used outdoors. It uses batteries and electronic components that cannot be exposed to the elements. Placing it outdoors will interfere with the functionality of the trap, causing it not to work.
Q: HOW DO I CONNECT THE TRAP TO MY WI-FI?
A: Go to Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device. Select the trap, which is VICTOR following by 15 alphanumeric digits. Press “CONNECT”, then press the back button. Select the Wi-Fi network to connect the trap to. Enter the network password for the Wi-Fi network, then press the red “CONNECT” button. It may take up to 1 minute to connect. A notification appears when the trap successfully connects.
Q: HOW DO I BAIT THE TRAP?
- Be sure that the trap is powered OFF and batteries are removed before baiting the trap.
- Rodents prefer foods that are high in protein and fat. Try using peanut butter, hazelnut spread, chocolate and meats such as bacon or beef jerky. Be careful not to use too much. Rodents have a very strong sense of smell, so only a small amount of bait is needed to attract them to the trap.
- Open the bait door, which can be found on the back side of the trap.
- Use a cotton swab, toothpick, tweezers or similar tool to place bait so that your scent is not transferred to the trap.
Q: WHERE SHOULD I PLACE THE TRAP?
A: Place the trap on a flat surface against a wall where you have seen signs of rodent activity. The trap should be placed lengthwise with the rodent entrance nearest to the wall.
Q: HOW DO I EMPTY THE TRAP?
- Press the power button to turn the unit OFF.
- Remove the batteries.
- Properly discard rodent. Clean and bait the trap after each use for most effective results.
- Insert batteries and press the power button to turn the unit back on. The trap will automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi.
Q: HOW DO I CLEAN THE TRAP?
- Press the power button to turn the trap OFF, then remove the batteries. Open the trap by holding the base of the trap with your left hand and sliding the top backwards with your right hand about one inch. Pull the top away from the base.
- The kill chamber is now ready for cleaning. Use a hydrogen peroxide topical solution (available at most drug stores) and an old toothbrush to clean the inside of the chamber. Use a wire brush as needed to remove any corrosion, being careful not to be too vigorous. This could accidentally remove all of the protective zinc plating.
- Thoroughly dry the interior and exterior of the kill chamber prior to trap reassembly.
- To reassemble trap, hold the base of the trap with your left hand and slide the top into place by pushing forward with your right hand to reconnect the pieces. The trap is ready for use.
Q: WHAT TYPE OF BATTERIES DOES THE TRAP USE?
A: The trap requires 4 “C” batteries. Be sure to use new, fully charged batteries for best results.
Q: WHAT DO THE APP NOTIFICATIONS MEAN?
A: Please visit our support section for more information on app notifications.Learn More »
