Victor Product Comparison
See how the Smart-Kill™ compares to other Victor® electronic rat traps.
I bought this rat trap knowing that someone else had one similar and it worked great. The one I bought worked in the beginning however, it never showed me any lights that there was a rat in it and it never had anything blinking other than the green light when you turn it on. I don’t know if I just received a faulty one or if the description is not accurate. I would recommend using this trap if it was properly working and did exactly what it said it was going to do. I did get mice and rats with this product but now they’re going in the trap and eating everything and not being zapped.

This trap works Great!
One issue thou is if you have both Rats & Mice you have to do some modifications. With Rats, you have to weight the trap down because they can squirm & bounce around in the trap eventually breaking electrical contact and escaping.
This trap works well with Mice. What I found was the little buggers were entering from the holes on the back wall of the bait door. I taped those holes off so they have to enter through the front. The Kill ratio is now about 36 & 0 over the last 4 years.
I deal with the carcasses by placing the deceased out in the backyard for the Ravens, Hawks & Owls knowing they are not ingesting poisoned vermin.
I find Jiff peanut butter to be the flavour of the day. ????
Good Hunting Folks!

45 Tame white Rats in 1 night . all in my greenhouse . Now all 3 traps do not work the wires came out of the machine or undone . looking to buy 3 more. But they are expensive so ?
Thank you for sharing your feedback with our team. We are sorry to hear about this experience! Please keep in mind that this trap is not recommended for outdoor use and it could cause false alerts and premature product failure if exposed to the elements. For best results, the trap should be kept inside. If rats are failing to go inside of the trap, you may want to use a different kind of bait such as a hazelnut spread.

I have tried many types of traps for rats with zero results. I bought this trap and thought I was in for more of the same..,. No results! Then, I made a little modification that made all the difference! The trap works great! I’ve caught 9 rats in two weeks.
I love this trap I had it now for 5 years it works , you don’t see them much but when you do it’s in the trap. I love this would not trade it in for the world.
OK--I was super skeptical that this would actually work, but this was the least disgusting method i came across. The high cost initially was a factor but when it came down to it I was willing to try it. It worked like a champ--took one night. Setting it up again for the next few nights just to ensure no mo' catches.
When I turn on the trap the green light flashes but it doesn't buzz. I set the trap out and when I checked it two days later the bait was gone and mouse/rat hair was inside the trap but no animal. Does this mean the electronic shock isn't working? What do I do to fix this?

If the trap is flashing green when turned on, the trap is armed and ready. While the trap will often buzz as well, the buzz is fairly quiet and may be hard to hear if there is any background noise. It is important when using this trap, to make sure that the plates inside the trap are clean and free of any leftover bait and debris, as this could cause a false trip to the system, allowing the rodent to escape without a catch! The trap is backed by a 30 day return policy and a 1 year replacement policy. Please give us a call at 855-584-2867 for assistance.
