Reading the Comments I'm confused.

Reading the Comments I'm confused. I loved the traps i bought with the smaller springs easy to set by hand and never had one break. bought more recently and the springs are now bigger and I have to use the tools to set them. (slows me down) i would love to have the smaller spring ones!! product still works great but I find the spring is so tight that tripping the trigger now is harder for the moles and i get a lot more tunneling through and not setting them off. should make 2 models available for people to choose their preference .
Absolutely HORRIBLE!

Absolutely HORRIBLE! 35 years owning a professional wildlife control company and we bought dozens of these to put into service. Poorly built all together, and soo weak a small child could set them with no tool. What happened Victor?? We counted on you for years, used, and highly recommend your products! We have a few of the old cast iron and super strong ones left that were truly amazing. Absolutely disheartening…… Total waste of money and they are sitting in a pile to be thrown out.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the Victor® Out O'Sight® Mole Trap and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, especially given your many years in professional wildlife control.
The Out O'Sight® Mole Trap is designed to be set by hand and relies on proper tunnel placement and trigger sensitivity rather than spring force alone. For best performance, the trap should be placed in an active, straight tunnel, with the trigger pan positioned directly over the travel path and the soil lightly packed beneath it. If the trigger is set too high above the tunnel, moles may pass underneath without activating the trap.
We understand your concerns regarding the construction and strength compared to older cast iron models, and we will share your comments with our product team for review. Thank you for your long-time support of Victor® products.
Absolute terrible garbage product.

Absolute terrible garbage product. I used to recommend this trap up until a few years ago when you guys changed the material and tension on the spring. The old original traps had a cast iron body and had a much heavier duty spring that actually caught the Mole. I had went and bought another one from the local Ace Hardware thinking it was the same one but come to find out you guys have changed it to the worst piece of crap design yet. I would not care if the price went up another 2 to 5 dollars per trap just to make it back to the old original one that you guys originally made back then. Will not be buying no more unless it is made back to the old original style type of trap.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your long-time support of the Victor® Out O'Sight Mole Trap and understand your disappointment with the changes compared to the older version. The trap is designed to be placed in an active mole tunnel with the jaws centered over the run and the trap firmly set according to the instructions. For best results, it is important to identify fresh, active tunnels and avoid disturbing the area after setting the trap. We value your comments regarding the trap's construction and spring tension, and we have shared your feedback with our product team for review. Your input is important and helps us evaluate future product improvements.

I bought these a few years ago when they came out with the new model. I tried them on and off for a year with my trapping business. These are horrible compared to the old cast iron material they use to use. I wish I could still buy the old ones as I need new ones again as my business has grown. I bought a dozen of these new 0631A and threw them away after a year and went back to the old models I still had. My business has grown a lot and I need to add more and wish they still had the old models for a higher price. I would pay $35 a trap for the old model if they offered it.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Victor® Out O'Sight® Mole Trap. The setting arm should stay securely in place, so having it fall off on the first attempt indicates a defective unit. Please contact our Consumer Care Team at 1-855-584-2867 so we can assist you further. We’re available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 7 PM EST.

I should have returned these last year when I bought them. Victor changed the material to a cheap metal instead of the effective cast iron they used to be. I have two old cast irons and two new ones and the new ones can barely cut through the dirt when triggered. This style of trap works great but they have to be the older style so until Victor figures out try looking for used ones.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Victor® Out O'Sight Mole Trap. The current design uses a lighter metal construction to make setup and operation easier, but we understand your concern about performance compared to older cast iron models. To ensure proper function, make sure the trap is placed in an active tunnel with firm, level soil and that the trigger plate is in full contact with the tunnel floor. We appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with our product team for continued evaluation and improvement.

As many before have mentioned, these traps used to be beafy and got the job done, the new dumbed down design ruined a great product.
All the excuses by the Victor reply is just lies to build a cheap, less effective product, what a shame this was done and double the shame they use canned respoes we all now is BS

We have used these traps for years in our professional pest control business. The new springs and aluminum jaws are terrible. This used to be the best mole trap on the planet, now we are searching for an adequate replacement. DO NOT BUY!!!!

new traps using different metal jaws (possibly aluminum) do not work. 2 broke when I tried to set them.
Springs were changed. Don't work as well.

I have always used these traps. Just bought 2 more and they aren't like they used to be. The spring tension is weak. I can squeeze it to set it without having to use the tongs things that come with it. Very disappointing.
