Use it wherever you encounter a mouse problem.Target Unwanted Rodents Victor® Metal Pedal Mouse Traps are a time-tested solution for capturing the mice that have invaded your home or business. Mice are able to sneak inside buildings through the tiniest of spaces where they can spread disease and destroy your property.Step-By-Step Guide The Metal Pedal is easy to set and use. Here’s how:
- Remove the arm bar from the staple.
- Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back of the trap.
- Bait the trap with a high-protein substance, such as peanut butter, chocolate or hazelnut spread. Place the bait on the metal bait pedal using a Q-Tip, toothpick or another tool to mask your human scent.
- Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
- Swing the arm bar over the kill bar and latch the bent end of the arm bar into the notch on the metal pedal as shown. Slowly release pressure from the kill bar until the arm bar has fully engaged and holds the kill bar securely.
- Place the trap wherever you’ve seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents like to travel. The baited end of the trap should be placed flush against the wall.
- After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.
"I've tried other brands of traps, but so many times the mice eat the bait but the trap doesn't trigger. So the bait just becomes a regular meal for the mice. These Victor traps are easy to bait, easy to set, cheap enough to use everywhere, and most importantly, they work!" (Review from Dagarb) Read More Reviews »

Review Rate The perfect miI thought mouse traps were the perfect invention. But these a CRAP. I am feeding the mice but not catching them. What a complete waste of time and money!!

Review Rate Really worksThis is the best. Tried the traps with the big plastic cheese but there was too much friction so the mice would eat the cheese off it, and even out of the holes. Got a Victor and set it up (carefully!) and it got one mouse within a few hours. Worked great if you cram soft cheese into the trigger jaw so the mouse has to work at it. They are delicate to set but they do work.

Review Rate Impossible to setIf you manage to set this, without the trap snapping back on your hand, you are a superhuman. Firm, sensitive... neither will hold. The only thing you'll be catching with this trap is your own finger.

Review Rate reliableThe easiest to bait and set. Still number 1 in my book.

Review Rate Very disappointingThese traps were really shoddily made-not like they use to be-Many of them fell apart before use because the staples weren't firmly in the wood, and a cheaper metal was used. BIG disappointment!
Response From Victor®Brandon : Consumer Relations RepresentativeI am sorry to hear of your experience! We do have a 1 year replacement policy along with a 30 day refund policy. Please give us a call at 855-584-2867 for further assistance!

Review Rate Cheap crapI tried this style of trap because I had trouble baiting the other kind with the yellow paddle but was totally unable to set the traps. Bought at a local Aubuchon's, I don't know if they were bent in the package but they are so poorly made that they were impossible to use.
Response From Victor®Kathryn : Consumer Relations RepresentativeThank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had trouble getting the traps to set and are happy to assist! These traps are covered by a 1-year replacement policy. Please contact us directly at 855-584-2867.

Review Rate Best there isI've tried many other 'better mousetraps' out there, and they have all been picked clean without tripping the trap. The standard 'old fashioned' mouse trap is the best, if you know what you're doing. I use chunky peanut butter, and when baiting the trap, a make sure a little piece goes under the curl of the metal bait pedal, that way the mouse has to work harder, thereby triggering the trap. On rare occasion, I'll get a mouse that thinks he is smarter than everyone else, and manages to clean the trap without tripping it. At that point I get a piece of Jujube candy, wedge it into the trap, then put a little bit of peanut butter on there.....dozens of mice over the last 30 years have yet to escape that one. I won't buy anything else.

Review Rate Use a little lubricant on the clasp area.I normally use the faux plastic base types because they trip better and I usually catch a lot of mice. However, they seem to be getting harder and harder to set. My hand starts to hurt after multiple times trying to set it. Victor, if you are reading this, you should put a tiny lip at the end of the flange so it will hold the metal rod better. In regards to these metal types with the clasp, as many have mentioned they are too hard to trip and the mice take the bait without getting caught. What I have done is used a little lubricant (WD40) on the area where it set into the clasp. This allows it to trip easier. Also, use gloves when setting these traps. Mice can smell your scent and will avoid them.

Review Rate The Perfect Mouse TrapHi, didn't like the thought of seeing a cute little mouse with his head smashed in. So I bought the Victor Electronic Mouse Trap. Within a day the light was on that the trap was activated. Open it up no mouse. Looked like there was pee on the base. Guess it scared the pee out of the mouse. Bought the original wooden Metal springbar I've known my whole life. Within a day SNAP/Success. Replaced the trap, a day later SNAP/Success. Sometimes you can't build a better mousetrap. Stick with the successful design of over 100 years.

Q: What kind of bait do I use?
A: Individuals in a rodent population search for different types of food. For mice, anything high in protein like peanut butter, chocolate or hazelnut spread is a great option. Also, nesting materials like dental floss, cotton or string are also great options. Try to use whatever bait or nesting material the rodents are currently feeding on or using to build nests.
Q: Can the trap be reused?
A: The Victor® Metal Pedal Mouse Trap can be reused or disposed of. It is personal preference. Check the traps frequently to ensure the trap is emptied as soon as the mouse is captured and the traps will last longer. Please note that for personal hygiene and biohazard awareness, disposable gloves should always be worn when installing or recovering any traps.
