Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap - A New Twist on a Classic Design
Simplify your rodent control routine with the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap. Using the original wooden snap trap design with an improved larger trip pedal to ensure higher catch rates, this trap will help you to effectively eliminate rodents around your household or business. Two settings, Firm and Sensitive, allow you to control the sensitivity of the trap. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings. In addition, these traps require no chemicals or poisons.
Expanded Trigger Plate
The Wide Pedal Mouse Trap enhances the classic snap trap design by adding a large plastic trigger plate to ensure higher catch rates. The expanded size means it can be easily activated both by rodent interest in food and through accidental contact as mice scamper across the floor. Note - Firm and Sensitive setting. Trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip easily. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive setting, but trip easily.
Easy 4 Step Setup
The Wide Pedal Mouse Trap is easy to use. Set trap with these 4 steps:
Release the Arm Bar Remove staple and move it so the arm hangs over the back of the trap.
Bait the Trap Apply bait on the plastic pedal. Use a bait such as peanut butter or hazelnut spread.
Hold Securely Pull back kill bar & hold securely with your thumb.
Set the Trap Place arm bar over the kill bar & secure it under the plastic pedal.
Location, Location, Location
Set the baited trap in areas where you have noticed high levels of rodent activity. Rodents tend to travel along walls, so placement in this location often works best. For maximum effectiveness, use multiple traps, placed at 2 to 3 foot intervals to increase results. Place the trap with the baited end flush against the wall.
Quick & Effective
Once a rodent triggers the pedal, the Wide Pedal Mouse Trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. After a catch, simply lift the kill bar to dispose of the mouse and reuse the trap or, dispose of the entire trap for quick, clean removal. It’s your decision!
"BEST TRAP ON THE MARKET! I purchased the easy set traps because of the tension adjustment (either hard or soft) I have tried other traps and even using a side-by-side comparison, the Victor traps captured the rodent every time. Victor is the only trap I'll buy from now on. It works, it's durable and easy to set!"

Mouse Trap Instructions
Release the arm bar from the staple.
Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back of the trap.
Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread or bacon to the yellow plastic pedal on the trap as shown. Use a Q-tip, toothpick or another tool to bait to avoid transferring your scent to the trap.
Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.
Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.
After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.

Here is a real review ...

Here is a real review from somebody with trapping experience for 68 years. This mouse traps is outstanding. 100% kill rate no get-away's. These are made here in America. The TOMCAT brand is owned by Scotts as in Turf Builder, are made in China on the box, weak spring, stiff trip pedal, and the hold down you end up with the trip too high. The TOMCAT's are a copy and junk when compared to the VICTOR's. Here is how to work these, first the trip has a small area in front where you put a tiny amount of peanut butter, its a tiny cut out, just a tiny amount. The same cut out behind on the same trip plate you left the plastic plate, I tilt them holding them up and then insert the trip retaining bar for the trap. Just slowly let the kill bar up and it will catch on the plastic notch inside just ever so slightly. Its supposed to be that way! Place facing a wall say two inches away. Its so sensitive that as soon as they touch the plastic trip plate, kaboom over. Use Latex gloves, pick up and for the common person just drop in plastic grocery bag, tie off, and into the trash. No your not going break a hand doing this, its a mousetrap. Hope this helps everyone. How many you ask? 14 and counting Cat adoption coming next. No were not filthy, the neighbors on both sides did complete renovations, and one house sat vacant for over six months, so they came over here. Lovely not a problem for 34 years until now. None caught today...wooo hooo.
These traps with the plastic foot are only good for catching your fingers. I will NEVER buy another trap with the plastic foot. What a disappointment from a supposed “ made in USA “ company.
Don’t buy these traps!!!!!
We are sorry to hear about your experience with these traps! Hold the trap vertically and make sure the yellow pedal is at about a 20 or 30 degree angle from the base, then set the trap by hooking the metal bar under the lip of the yellow pedal. If you hook the left side of the pedal, the trap will be easier to set but slightly more difficult to trip. If you hook the right side, the trap will be more difficult to set but slightly easier to trip. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings.

These traps really do work and are easy to setup, every time i set one up i get the mouse in the house or basement. Good product
Just like others have said, would have given 0 stars if it would have let me! Victor needs to go back to original design! Unfortunately I threw away the receipt. I've never had a problem with Victor mouse traps, so when I bought this design, which was all the store had, I didn't think twice about them not working.
Victor, stop selling this crappy design and go back to the original one! I DO NOT recommended this, at all!

Bought a 2 pack from Canadian Tire only one of them would even set as the bar is too short to reach under the pedal, even then it kept snapping on me before I could FINALLY set it.

These are very hard to set there is barely enough plastic to hold the rod down, snapped on me 5 times before it finally held in place.
We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear the trap was tricky to set! The pedal can be set using either the sensitive or the firm side. Please feel free to contact us at 855-584-2867 with any questions!

I purchased these because I ...

I purchased these because I couldn't find the metal pedal type. I never bothered with the directions because I'm 61 and I know how to set a trap. Apparently ANY extra weight on the bait pedal will cause a hair trigger and become almost impossible to set down. I'm going to put out the other two WITHOUT peanut butter and see what happens. I personally believe this is an example of an engineer justifying his employment with little benefit to the consumer. I'm going back to the metal pedal whenever I'm done with these.
We are sorry to hear this, and we appreciate your feedback regarding these traps. If you hook the left side of the pedal, the trap will be easier to set but slightly more difficult to trip. If you hook the right side, the trap will be more difficult to set but slightly easier to trip. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings.
