Mice are enough to escape the traps. I have carefully followed the directions for two different models of Victor catch and release mouse traps—mice are able to safely stop by for a snack, leave a turd or more, and leave.
I loved the original version of these. They caught many mice before they eventually chewed though the plastic. This one I've had for almost a year and it hasn't caught a single mouse.
I had a heavy infestation. Baited the trap with peanut butter and within two hours I had caught four mice. The next day I caught two more. Now I've caught a total of nine with this single trap. I haven't had issues with the mice chewing through as others have stated. However, I do see where this could be possible if left alone long enough.
Failure as a trap. Will catch mice, but mice can chew through the plastic and escape. I heard one in the pantry and he had just chewed through the trap. He sat on my pantry shelf and just stared at me and laughed before running off.
It worked fast. The mouse ran in. The little metal door that closed opened right back up so when the mouse was done eating and napping he just went right back out. All before I woke up. Now I have tons of videos of it running in and out waiting for its next meal.
bought 6 of these 4 have done nothing so far and the other 2 had mice in them but they managed to escape i personally seen these 2 traps with a mouse in them when i returned 10 minutes later with a bucket the traps was empty
We bought two of these from Home Depot. We used them one night and caught two mice in one trap and one mouse in the other trap. We released them in a nearby nature preserve
Design flaw causing product to fail
Mice were able to chew through the inner plastic piece and escaped. Reinforcing with a steel plate would likely solve the issue.
Product is of poor quality. I caught a mouse and it definitely wanted out. Before I was to release it, I had to do something that took no more than 3 minutes. When I went back to get the trap so that I could release the mouse in another location, the mouse was gone. I examined the trap and the only way to describe it, the mouse broke the trap or the trap was defective. The door and ramp are very flimsy and the door didn't seal the trap like the other plastic traps do. I had absolutely no problem catching mice with the all plastic.
