Do you remove the cardboard piece in the trap?

Thank you very much for contacting us. It would be our pleasure to assist you. Using this trap is very easy – simply apply bait in the designated bait cup and place the trap indoors or outdoors where you’ve noticed activity. There is no setting required. The see-saw design allows mice to enter the trap, and once fully inside, they cannot escape. After a catch has been made, the rear door opens for offsite release, so you never have to touch the rodent.

The videos don’t show the cardboard that surrounds the entryway for the mouse. Do I remove the cardboard?
