Helpfulness
Died after three years :(
Oct 22, 2024
Bought in 2021. Worked for three years. Zapped about 6 rats, so pleased with the results. But changed the batteries, and the unit is dead; no lights appear. Cleaned the metal plates, still no lights. Called support per the recommendation in the Q&A part of this page, and support said all the troubleshooting they can do is to have us change the batteries. Well, that wasn't much help. Warranty only lasts for one year, so kind of expensive for a trap with such a short life span.

This thing doesn't work at all. I have video of the rats looking inside and running away.
So far I'm out $100+ on useless traps

We are sorry to hear this! Sometimes rodents will be cautious about entering a new trap. To help them overcome their caution, we recommend baiting a trap and placing it powered OFF at first, allowing the rodent to become accustomed to it. Don’t worry - you won’t be feeding these pests for long! After a night or two, add fresh bait and turn the trap on, ensuring the next time the rodent enters the trap will be the last. Please feel free to contact us at 855-584-2867 for further assistance, we're happy to help!
Ordered 8/2/2024.

Ordered 8/2/2024. While waiting for delivery I placed a few sunflower seeds at the intended location where rats were seen. Seeds were eaten every night. Using seeds because they would not attract my dog to the trap. Received and installed on 8/8/2024. I always use disposable gloves when handling the trap and arm it nightly. Successful kills - 1 rat 8/8, another 8/9. Successful kills again - 1 rat 8/13, another 8/14. Using recommended 4 Lithium AA batteries and sunflower seeds in bait trough. The blinking green light did not occur on the last kill. Perhaps I need to check batteries. So far very happy with this product. Seems to be working.
Be patient. - it words

Be patient. I purchased this trap (not from here) 01/2023. I hate killing anything but now the problem is out of hand and I will NOT poison any animal. I baited the trap every single morning since the purchase but never turned it on. I was conditioning the rats to go in and out and feel safe doing so. This morning I decided enough is enough. I turned it on and used what I always used - canned cat food, anything as long I don't harm the squirrels. I had it set for 10 minutes and the green light was blinking. I could not believe it. I caught one. I reset the trap and within an hour I got another one, ten minutes later I got another one. That's three today. It does make me feel good that their death is so quick. I have to catch more but that was enough for one day. Just be patient and don't expect them to just run tight in. Condition them for a bit like I did. Then turn it on. Good luck
Rat zapper max

Bought this because of the all weather design. No kills for 4 months. Relocated and got 6 kills, then no kills for 4 mo.I tried baiting out of the holder several times still no kills only feeding. Called victor they replaced it with the same one. Once again no kills only feeding. I even placed some mice from the classic zapper and let them sit for 3 days then re-baited, still only feeding???Had the classic traps in the same location 25 kills. I like the all weather design but did not work???!
Not as good as indoor model

I purchased two of these to use around my house. I have never had a single successful trapping using these despite having them deployed for months, and yet my older indoor model has zapped a half dozen mice and rats just a few feet away. (I had a known mouse problem in my garage and deployed my outdoor model and after days of no success, set up my older indoor model and had success immediately.) I think the center location for bait is not attractive enough to rodents. The indoor model works perfectly, but I have to remember to bring it inside in inclement weather. I won’t be ordering more of these outdoor models.
I have had this trap ...

I have had this trap for months, moved it around, and never caught anything. I have other traps that work great.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We're sorry to hear that the desired results were not yet seen with this trap. If given a choice, a mouse will go to a trap in the open vs. a trap he has to enter to reach the bait. To take full advantage of the "no touch, no view" disposal of the electronic traps, we recommend removing any snap traps from the area. Reach out to us at 1-855-584-2867 with any questions.
Yep, it killed 'em

Took our colony a few days to be less suspicious of the trap.... but then we had success. Largest rat we have observed was in there. Hoping for ongoing success.
Works great!

I can't say there are no more rats, but thanks to the Zapper Max the local population is down. I had rats in the garden and even in the tomatoes on the porch. I won't use poisons around my dogs or the local wildlife which includes raptors and owls. This trap is great as it is safe outside and can handle multiple kills without battery replacement. It's easy to bait and although it takes the rats time to decide it is safe to enter, I've caught quite a few, enough that I invested in a second Zapper Max. I am hoping that using them through the winter when food sources are limited will cut the population down.
It works

After seeing results of secondary poisoning I decided to remove all my bate stations. I had one M460UC and purchased 5 more. They work really well - getting 1-3 mice pretty much every day. I run them on Energizer Extreme Lithium batteries (Sam's Club sells them at a decent price). Peanut butter + peanuts is my bate.
