How do I "slide out the power pak" per the instruction manual?
Question by: Bennett on May 3, 2023, 4:33 PM
To remove the power pak, pull up both pieces of the tunnel assembly, then slide the power pak forward out of the slot to access the batteries.

We love this trap. It's worked for us for a couple of years, but now when we change the batteries, the power won't come on. No green light when we push the button. I cleaned all the metal plates with soap and water, still nothing. And yes, we are using AA Lithium batteries. Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you make an electronic unit for both mice and rats(pack rats)?
Question by: Kevin Simplicius Nelson on Dec 11, 2024, 12:53 PM
Thank you for reaching out! Please note that none of our traps have been specifically tested for pack rats. However, we recommend the Victor® Electronic Rat Trap, which is designed for both rats and mice. This trap uses a high-voltage shock to humanely and effectively eliminate rodents, and it is suitable for controlling both rats and mice in your home or yard.

Can you confirm that the batteries must be lithium and not alkaline? I'm assuming it's important since the lithium batteries are 3.6 volts and alkaline are 1.5.
Thanks
Thanks
Question by: Annie on Jan 28, 2025, 6:30 PM
Hi Annie, 1.5 v batteries should be used, not 3.6 v. You can find different options for lithium 1.5 V batteries, like the Energizer Ultimate Lithium.

Does the Zapper Max allow for a wall wart power supply to be used so I can save on buying batteries? The Zapper will be used in a carport protected from rain and sun, but would still be outdoors.
Question by: Chuck Weiss on Aug 10, 2025, 10:11 AM
Thank you for your question!
The Zapper Max is recommended for indoor use only and operates solely on batteries. We do not advise using a wall wart power supply with it.

I have previously used a different electronic trap in my garage. When I saw the indicator light had gone off, I looked but there was no rat in the trap. Much later (by smell) I discovered a dead rat hidden under shelving in the garage. I assume this was the rat that had been zapped but was still alive for a while. I had other rats around but only this one fell for the trap. In the description of this one it talks about baffles. I want to know how well those might work in a situation like this. Also, you say the top is clear, does this mean that I can see the captured rat by looking in without opening? Since I have this experience of the rat getting zapped but not dying right away, I'd like to be able to verify it is dead before opening the trap.
Question by: Jeffrey Mills on Aug 19, 2025, 6:14 PM
Thank you very much for contacting us. It would be our pleasure to assist you. Please make sure the trap is free of any debris, as this could affect activation. When a rat enters, the trap is immediately activated. Each unit is equipped with Kill-Switch technology, which automatically shuts off the trap when the lid is open for safety. You can monitor the trap daily for signs of a catch—the LED lights will blink to signal when a capture has been made, and the clear lid allows you to easily see inside and verify the catch without opening the trap.

Looks like a great product….how many kills can this unit hold…shame it doesn’t have the Wi-Fi notification capability….I place my traps in tough spots where I would have to check them daily to see if I have a kill….
Question by: Robert Losee on Sep 14, 2025, 11:36 AM
Hi, thank you for your question. This unit kills one rat per setting.

Will the lithium batteries, rust outdoor use. Despite all the protection of the casing, we are worried that we have to keep buying new batteries.
Question by: Betsy Rose on Sep 27, 2025, 6:51 PM
Hi, thank you for reaching us. The trap was designed for outdoor use, and batteries are protected. However, moisture and humidity can rust or corrode with prolonged outdoor use. We recommend checking the trap periodically.
