I'm thinking of purchasing this model or the solar powered version. With winter approaching, should I wait until spring, or will they survive the winter (no appreciable snow, but rain will be plentiful). Also, I have an automatic irrigation system that will be turned back on in the spring. The yard will be watered 3-5 times a week. How does rain/water affect them?

This unit says it needs to be 95 feet unobstructed. If a house or garage is in that 95 foot range does that mean I can't use it?
Question by: ken on Mar 26, 2025, 11:37 AM
Hi, thank you for reaching out!

If there is a house or garage within the 95-foot range, it may partially obstruct the sound waves, potentially reducing effectiveness. However, the unit can still be used, but for optimal results, place it in an open area without large structures blocking the signal.

My solar spike has started to emit a two tone sound. Is there a problem? BTW-The spike doze exactly as the box says - it cleared my yard in 2 weeks.
Question by: Steve Booth on Apr 15, 2025, 5:28 PM
Thank you for reaching out to Victor Pest.

We are glad to read that the Sonic Spike is working after 2 weeks.

To clarify, the Victor® Sonic Spike emits a primary sound in the 42 KHz range, with various harmonic tones and frequency ranges as a byproduct of the main sound. These frequencies are mostly inaudible to the human ear, which is why we classify them as ultrasonic. While it is possible for you to hear some of the sound above ground, it should be muffled, as the device primarily produces a tone and vibration.

If you are experiencing a decrease in effectiveness due to changes in the sound, we recommend taking advantage of the one-year limited manufacturer warranty. To proceed with a replacement, kindly provide us with the receipt showing the date of purchase, and we will be happy to assist you.

Warm regards
