My safe set mouse trap will NOT reset after I used it the first time. How can I fix this?

I used your Safe-Set Mouse Trap. My trail camera showed the mouse sniffing but apparently not reaching the peanut butter in that little cup. How much bait should be under that spring cover ?

It sounds like you've got a smart mouse on your hands! For the Safe-Set Mouse Trap, we recommend using a pea-sized amount of peanut butter in the bait cup.
It's also a good idea to wear gloves when handling the trap and bait. This helps prevent transferring your human scent to the trap, which can deter cautious mice.

Hi, we really appreciate your question. You should apply a pea-sized amount of peanut butter the purpose is for the rodent to touch the pedal and get caught.

Thank you for contacting us. First, you must open the bait cup and clean it; then, if it is still armed, carefully touch the trigger with a small pen to set it until you need it again.

To disarm the Victor® Safe-Set™ Mouse Trap, press down on the top of the trap (the same area used to set it) until you hear a click, then slowly release the pressure to return it to the open position. Keep your fingers clear of the opening while doing this for safety.

I just bought a two pack mouse trap but was surprised there is no bait. I just read your reviews…do you suggest peanut butter on the traps in the bait cups?

Yes, peanut butter can be used in the bait cup of the Victor® Safe Set Mouse Trap. Apply only a small amount, about the size of a pea, to encourage the mouse to interact with the trap. Other high-protein spreads, such as hazelnut spread, may also be effective. Be sure to place the trap along walls or in areas where mouse activity has been observed for the best results.
