Innovative Safe-Set™ Technology
Designed with a safety feature that prevents accidental triggering, the Victor® Safe-Set™ Mouse Trap is a safe choice for homes with kids and pets when used as directed. To set, simply squeeze the trap until it clicks into place and place in an area with noticeable rodent activity. Mice will be able to enter the hole to grab the bait and trigger the kill bar, however, curious children and pets will not be able to set off the trap because of the Safe-Set™ feature.
Designed for Easy Baiting
Proper placement of bait is essential for a quick, clean kill. The Safe-Set™ Mouse Trap takes the hassle out of eliminating mice. To bait the trap, open the hatch on the bottom of the trap and apply a high protein bait, such as peanut butter, in the bait cup and click the hatch closed. Plus, the bait hood prevents bait theft by ensuring that rodents trigger the trap when trying to access the bait.
Quick and Effective Rodent Control
Once a mouse triggers the trap, the Safe-Set™ Mouse Trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. All that’s left to do is dispose of the rodent and clean the trap so it’s ready to use again and again. For the best results, place the trap near signs of rodent activity. Mice typically travel along walls, so placement in this location usually leads to a higher catch rate.

These traps do not work. I thought they weren’t snapping because the mice were babies, but I tested it with a stick and it still wouldn’t snap. Very disappointed.
I have two of this style trap and they work great…. Easy to bait and set and
there is another brand that makes this style too, but in my opinion they are junk!
I bought a pair of these along with an electronic model to elliminate a newly discovered infestation. In the last 4 days, this snap trap only got 2 mice, and didn't even kill one of them. I had to release it outside because it was simply stuck in the trap. While they are extremely easy to set, I don't think the spring is nearly powerful enough to kill humanely, at least slightly larger individuals. My electronic one has cleanly killed 4 in the same time period, with no signs that the mice survived the initial zap. I don't know why the mice aren't even attracted to these snap traps, they're baited with the same peanut butter. Something about this just isn't appealing.
I honestly didn't think they would work. It seemed too difficult for the mouse to get the bait out to spring the trap. Guess that shows what I know. They're working just great.
My husband bought two of these traps because the label said "100% kill". Well, it works, EVENTUALLY. In the meantime, one is serenaded with the sound of a helpless mouse trying desperately to escape before it succumbs 10-15 seconds later. If I have to kill a mouse, I want a fast, humane kill, not having the poor thing struggle in pain. I'm throwing them in the trash and finding something that actually works IMMEDIATELY.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND the safe set mouse traps! We heard mice in our walls..set 4 traps under the house and caught 4. No mess and touching them and them easily reset.
Easy to bait and set. Mouse caught shortly but now dragging it around. I'd rather it'd have killed the d@mn thing so I didn't have to figure out how to! Ick.
I used your Safe-Set Mouse Trap. My trail camera showed the mouse sniffing but apparently not reaching the peanut butter in that little cup. How much bait should be under that spring cover ?

It sounds like you've got a smart mouse on your hands! For the Safe-Set Mouse Trap, we recommend using a pea-sized amount of peanut butter in the bait cup.
It's also a good idea to wear gloves when handling the trap and bait. This helps prevent transferring your human scent to the trap, which can deter cautious mice.

Hi, we really appreciate your question. You should apply a pea-sized amount of peanut butter the purpose is for the rodent to touch the pedal and get caught.

My safe set mouse trap will NOT reset after I used it the first time. How can I fix this?
