I have an old set of out o'sight traps that were given to me. they were pretty rusty, but they still functioned. I wanted to get them to be like new again, so I took one and soaked in vinegar for 2 days. It worked well and down to bare metal. I dried it off and now have it in my oven at 350 to get it completely dry and moisture-free. My question is what should I do to avoid forming rust? I thought about a thin layer of unscented coconut oil. Hoping that it would not keep moles from approaching. Any advice? Thank you. These traps are great!

Coconut oil is effective for a short-term solution to rust, but for a long-term solution, dedicated rust preventative oils or coatings are preferred.

My neighbor bought two of your Out'O sight mole traps and claims they are the best product on the market. He was so successful in ridding his lawn of moles that he no longer needs four traps. He has offered to sell two of them to me but can't find the instruction sheets. If possible, please forward me a copy electronically. If necessary, I will pay any fees required. Thank you for your help in this matter.

What to do when the mole seems to be smarter than the trap? I set the trap like the video says and come back the next day and the mole has burrowed up along side of the trap. Opposite side of the setting wire.

Thank you for contacting us. Regarding your question, we recommend relocating the trap to a fresh, active, straight tunnel where the mole is clearly traveling, and ensuring that the trigger pan is centered directly over the travel path. The trap should be firmly positioned, and the tunnel entrances should be filled with soil so the mole is directed through the trap.
