I just placed the trap and now the light is blinking red. In reading the insert it says there is a problem! I thought it meant it has a mouse??!
Question by: Jana Mabry on Oct 26, 2024, 6:39 PM
The red light indicates that the battery needs replaced.

Is the bait cup the flat metal plate?
Question by: Jerry on Oct 27, 2024, 10:01 AM
No, it is more of a bait trough. It is located at the very back of the trap, between the smaller metal plate and the back wall with the holes in it. Please be careful not to get bait on the metal plate.
Answer by: Kristen on Oct 30, 2024, 12:11 PM
No, it is more of a trough that is located between the smaller metal plate and the back wall that has holes in it. Be careful to avoid getting bait on the metal plate, as that will impact its performance.

Hi, I purchased two of these traps (although model M250S-N) and they have worked great! A week ago, I dropped one of the from the attic, and it fell into pieces. I did, however manage to put it all back together again, except for the battery door where the lock had been broken. Is there any possibility to buy a spare battery door?
I also want to mention that mice are quite smart. They have chewed a lot on the plastic in the back where the holes are, as to get to the food without needing to enter the "death trap". :-)

Kind regards / Olof Ekdahl, Sweden

Unfortunately that is not available to purchase separately.

When turning on the trap, I thought it would buzz to indicate the trap was ready. Does the trap still buzz when it's first turned on?
Question by: Morgan Smith on Nov 19, 2024, 6:48 PM
Hello Morgan, Any of the models may buzz, however the buzz can be difficult to hear if there is any background noise. Some may not buzz at all. Even if the instructions indicate there should be a buzz, not hearing one doesn't automatically mean that the trap isn't working properly. As long as the light is flashing correctly when the trap is first turned on, it should be working correctly.

Hello. I really liked my electronic trap! Worked well last "mouse" season, fall in New England. Then I turned it off and put it in a drawer for the summer. Now it won't work at all! What can I try besides replacing the batteries? The silvery-colored plates are mottled with dark spots. Would the spots indicate that the plates are no good any more? I never scrubbed the plates to remove soils, just wiped them with water and air dried. Can you help? Thanks!
Question by: Barrie on Nov 20, 2024, 2:40 PM
Hi, the dark spots may be caused by humidity, You can put it in a dry/less humid area for a few days and try it again. You can clean it using a hydrogen peroxide topical solution (available at most drug stores - nothing above 3% in solution typical drug-store variant) and an old toothbrush to clean the inside of the chamber.
Use a wire brush as needed to remove any corrosion, being careful not to be too vigorous. This could accidentally remove all of the protective zinc plating.

I see only one note referencing "fully charged batteries". I assume, therefore, that rechargeable batteries are permissible. Rechargeable batteries usually have a lessor voltage (1.25v) than Alkaline batteries (1.5v).Will this make the trap less efficient at killing mice or shorter functioning time?
Question by: Fred on Nov 21, 2024, 8:09 PM
Hello Fred, thank you for reaching out to us. Do NOT use rechargeable batteries in any of the electronic traps. The battery voltage of rechargeable is usually far lower than alkaline (1.2V vs. 1.6V per cell – for 4 batteries 4.8V vs 6.4V), they also tend to self-discharge at a faster pace. The trap’s ability to dispatch a Rodent is directly tied to the voltage of the batteries. A small reduction in battery voltage has a drastic effect on the trap’s output voltage. Therefore, when using rechargeable batteries the likelihood of compromising the trap performance is high.

Hello
Did you discontinue the WiFi? I bought several and think they’re genius. Need more but cant find!
Question by: RD on Nov 25, 2024, 11:51 PM
We have discontinue that model, we no longer work it.
Answer by: Rachel (Admin) on Nov 27, 2024, 4:02 PM
Where exactly should I place bait ? I don’t see a cup as instructions imply. Is it just a place?
Question by: Dyan on Nov 29, 2024, 2:01 PM
My apologies for the confusion. It is not a cup perse, but more like a ledge. There is a diagram on our website www.victorpest.com. Get to the Electronic Mouse Trap, Model M250B, and scroll through the pictures "INNOVATIVE FEATURES". The placement of the bait will be a lot clearer to you.
