For large-scale protection against unwanted snakes, try Victor® Snake-A-Way® Snake Repellent Granular. Snake-A-Way® can be used to repel both poisonous and non-poisonous snakes such as garter and rattlesnakes, from areas around houses, cabins, trailers, garages, flowerbeds and more.
Sends Snakes Scurrying
Snake-A-Way® is a unique blend of sulfur and naphthalene, which work together to temporarily disrupt a snake’s Jacobson’s Organ (auxiliary olfactory sense organ). Snakes rely on this organ to receive environmental stimuli important to their survival, so disrupting it successfully disorients the snake and causes it to retreat in search of fresh air.
Easy Application
These long-lasting snake-repelling granules begin to work after application, and they’re simple to apply. Wearing gloves, spread the granules in bands along the perimeter of the area you want to protect. Bands should be 4-5 inches wide to repel garter snakes and 8-12 inches wide to repel rattlesnakes.
EPA Registered Snake Repellent
Snake-A-Way® is EPA registered which means, when used as directed, it will not have adverse effects on humans or the environment.

This stuff really works, but there is a big however. We have monsoon rains and it gets washed away, and then the rattle snakes come out. That is where shot shells become useful. If it rains for several days in a row, it is futile to put down more snake away, until there is a dry spell. When it is dry, the snake away is not affected by winds, and works very well at repelling rattlesnakes.
I live in a rural wooded area in the mountains and around water. This is a must to keep snakes out of my yard to protect my dogs. Victor pest gets 5 stars for fast shipping a great prices.
We've used this product with success at my lakeside condo community for 6 years, applying a perimeter around all buildings in mid-April, mid-July and mid-October (Midwest climate). Ground-level units that had baby garter snakes inside their condos every few days in the past, have none now. Occasionally a snake gets trapped inside a newly-established perimeter of Snake Away and won't cross it ... so it retreats to inside. That does not mean the product isn't working. Once a new perimeter is established and maintained, the problem ends.
