Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap - A New Twist on a Classic Design
Simplify your rodent control routine with the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap. Using the original wooden snap trap design with an improved larger trip pedal to ensure higher catch rates, this trap will help you to effectively eliminate rodents around your household or business. Two settings, Firm and Sensitive, allow you to control the sensitivity of the trap. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings. In addition, these traps require no chemicals or poisons.
Expanded Trigger Plate
The Wide Pedal Mouse Trap enhances the classic snap trap design by adding a large plastic trigger plate to ensure higher catch rates. The expanded size means it can be easily activated both by rodent interest in food and through accidental contact as mice scamper across the floor. Note - Firm and Sensitive setting. Trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip easily. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive setting, but trip easily.
Easy 4-Step Setup
For your convenience, the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap is very easy to use. Get your trap setup by following these four simple steps:
Release the Arm Bar - Remove the staple and move it so the arm hangs over the back of the trap.
Bait the Trap - While the trap is pre-baited with a scent, apply bait on the plastic pedal for best results. Use a high-protein bait such as peanut butter or hazelnut spread.
Hold Securely - Pull back the kill bar and hold it securely with your thumb.
Set the Trap - Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.
Location, Location, Location
Set the baited trap in areas where you have noticed high levels of rodent activity. Rodents tend to travel along walls, so placement in this location often works best. For maximum effectiveness, use multiple traps, placed at 2 to 3 foot intervals to increase results. Place the trap with the baited end flush against the wall.
Quick & Effective
Once a rodent triggers the pedal, the Wide Pedal Mouse Trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. After a catch, simply lift the kill bar to dispose of the mouse and reuse the trap or, dispose of the entire trap for quick, clean removal. It’s your decision!
"BEST TRAP ON THE MARKET! I purchased the easy set traps because of the tension adjustment (either hard or soft) I have tried other traps and even using a side-by-side comparison, the Victor traps captured the rodent every time. Victor is the only trap I'll buy from now on. It works, it's durable and easy to set!"

Mouse Trap Instructions
Release the arm bar from the staple.
Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back of the trap.
Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread or bacon to the yellow plastic pedal on the trap as shown. Use a Q-tip, toothpick or another tool to bait to avoid transferring your scent to the trap.
Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.
Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.
After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.
Bought two rat traps.
One caught 3 mice right away.
The second trap could not be set.
(Use thick gloves; It almost got my fingers.)
I am 80 years old; never had an issue with the ones with the original metal bait holder.

They 100% will kill everytime you get it to set. Unfortunately out of 6 I only got one to set. The pedal does not have enough friction to hold and you'll get your finger bit at least once.
Thank you for this feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with these traps. They have both a Firm and Sensitive setting. If the trap is not remaining set, we recommend adjusting the settings.

These are completely worthless.

These are completely worthless. They are impossible to set such that they will actually hold and do their job. What a waste.
Thank you for this feedback. We're sorry to hear that this is happening to your traps. They have both a Firm and Sensitive setting. If it is triggering easily, we recommend setting the trap towards the Firm side. Reach out to us via the Contact Us page with any questions.

I’ve been using Victor mouse traps for 40 years. These wide pedal are junk. After about 30 tries I finally got one to set on the FIRM side. Before I could put it down, slap. Returning to the store and looking for something you haven’t tried to needlessly “improve”.
Thank you for sharing this feedback. We're sorry to hear about your recent experience with these traps. These concerns have been shared with our Product Managers. They have a 30 day return period at the retailer.

Just Bought this Mouse Trap & Caught a Huge Rat on 1st Run

I just bought this mouse trap a few days ago. It caught a huge rat on its first run to my surprise. After disposal, I tested this trap and found it got really loose that it might come off. I don’t expect this to last longer than a month. This needs some redesign on the spring area for durability.
Purchased 4 wood traps with the yellow plastic trigger mechanism. THEY ARE JUNK AND GIVING YOU A BAD REPUTATION.

purchased 4 wood traps with the yellow trigger. One had the hold down bar missing. The remaining three :-(. The yellow catch that the hold down bar inserts into to set the trap is too smooth and the bar will not hold without much frustration. One actually would snap a minute or two after I set it and walked away. I found the solution is to drill a hole slightly larger than the hold down bar into the yellow catch. About 1/16 inch deep. That holds the hold down bar enough to hold until a mouse triggers it.
BEST SOLUTION IS TO QUIT MAKING THAT UNIT AND SELL ONLY THE MODEL WITH THE STEEL CATCH. THE YELLOW ONE IS GIVING YOUR PRODUCT A BAD REPUTATION.
Thank you for sharing this experience. We're sorry to hear that this happened with these traps. They have a one year replacement policy. Feel free to reach out to us via the Contact Us page for additional assistance.

No one on this planet has caught more mice than I, Guaranteed!
My normal life is 28 traps (Trap Line I like to call it) at my home, hangers, sheds, campers, Etc..
-yea THESE are By Far THE BEST
I live in the North East (NY) where there are lots and lots of mice.
61 year old Mouse Trapping Man, By the way all the mice I catch get fed to the Crows, Mice are their #1 choice for food...
The best snap trap! Use them dry with no bait- set them with the yellow paddle next to the wall where the mice travel.
Or push peanut butter into the holes in the yellow paddle. The mice put more pressure on the paddle to dig out the pb and whammy. I often get 2 mice per trap.
