Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap - A New Twist on a Classic Design

Simplify your rodent control routine with the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap. Using the original wooden snap trap design with an improved larger trip pedal to ensure higher catch rates, this trap will help you to effectively eliminate rodents around your household or business. Two settings, Firm and Sensitive, allow you to control the sensitivity of the trap. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings. In addition, these traps require no chemicals or poisons.

Expanded Trigger Plate

Expanded Trigger Plate

The Wide Pedal Mouse Trap enhances the classic snap trap design by adding a large plastic trigger plate to ensure higher catch rates. The expanded size means it can be easily activated both by rodent interest in food and through accidental contact as mice scamper across the floor. Note - Firm and Sensitive setting. Trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip easily. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive setting, but trip easily.

Easy 4-Step Setup

For your convenience, the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap is very easy to use. Get your trap setup by following these four simple steps:

  1. Release the Arm Bar - Remove the staple and move it so the arm hangs over the back of the trap.
  2. Bait the Trap - While the trap is pre-baited with a scent, apply bait on the plastic pedal for best results. Use a high-protein bait such as peanut butter or hazelnut spread.
  3. Hold Securely - Pull back the kill bar and hold it securely with your thumb.
  4. Set the Trap - Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.

Location

Location, Location, Location

Set the baited trap in areas where you have noticed high levels of rodent activity. Rodents tend to travel along walls, so placement in this location often works best. For maximum effectiveness, use multiple traps, placed at 2 to 3 foot intervals to increase results. Place the trap with the baited end flush against the wall.

Quick & Effective

Once a rodent triggers the pedal, the Wide Pedal Mouse Trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. After a catch, simply lift the kill bar to dispose of the mouse and reuse the trap or, dispose of the entire trap for quick, clean removal. It’s your decision!

quick and effective
Five Stars

"BEST TRAP ON THE MARKET! I purchased the easy set traps because of the tension adjustment (either hard or soft) I have tried other traps and even using a side-by-side comparison, the Victor traps captured the rodent every time. Victor is the only trap I'll buy from now on. It works, it's durable and easy to set!"

Mouse Trap Instructions
  1. Release the arm bar from the staple.
  2. Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back of the trap.
  3. Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread or bacon to the yellow plastic pedal on the trap as shown. Use a Q-tip, toothpick or another tool to bait to avoid transferring your scent to the trap.
  4. Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
  5. Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.
  6. Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.
  7. After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.

Trap Broke

Sep 27, 2010
I have a bunch of these traps, and so far two of them have broken! The loop that holds the snap bar on comes out of the wood. However, I did manage to catch one mouse before that happened! Yipee!!!

Does the job!

I love these traps. You don't have to mess with bait, just set them perpendicular to the wall and it will do all the work for you. I have found a common runway and get them regularly (I live out in the country). Plus they're so cheap that if it's messy I just throw the whole thing away and get a new one. Love these traps!

We live in the country and every fall the mice migrate into the kitchen. I have used every type of trap out there. This is by far the best. It is easy to set and highly effective.   Hands down, there isn't a better mousetrap out there.

These work GREAT

These by far have been the best traps I have used. I am situated in the middle of 27 wooded acres and some of the mice get by the snakes living outside the house, but these have been tested by me against the traditional snap traps and catch way more mice than one of those that you have to add bait to.   2 Thumbs up from me!!!

Very Good Trap

I got this trap from the walmart for a school invention project. I came home and decided to set the trap in our old shed that I had seen a mouse in about a week ago. I left the trap for exactly 24 hours came and checked it and I had the mouse. I have also used the same brand rat traps and they are great too.

Within 5 minutes of setting the first trap, it attracted and caught a mouse. I replaced the trap and caught another within 10 minutes. The scent really works, and the traps kill the mice immediately. I recommend these very highly. Victor also gives excellent customer service on the phone!

Excellent Work!

Amazing! Absolutely amazing! The last time I used one of your traps it had a metal trigger on it. I was working in a Hardened Aircraft Shelter (HAS) in Iraq for six months and the mice owned the building. Someone found a package of Victor traps so we decided to see how many mice we could get. We baited the metal triggers with peanut butter or bits of meat from our MRE's since the mice were chewing their way into those anyway.   Each time a trap was successful, we'd put a notch in it and certain traps quickly became the favorites. Contrary to our beliefs at first, it turned out that the more successful traps were the ones baited with meat squeezed into the metal trigger. The peanut butter baited traps were not as successful since the mice were sometimes able to lick the trigger clean without setting the trap off.   In all by the time we left we trapped 43 mice in that HAS! Recently, at home my Wife discovered that we had a mouse in our house. Naturally, I went right for the "V"! But you had replaced the metal trigger with a larger flat piece of plastic trigger. I viewed this as, "why didn't they think of that before!"   As of now I've trapped 3 mice in our home and each situation is the same: bar across the brain, and one foot still on the trigger! Even placing potato chip crumbs on the trigger results in success (as witnessed just an hour ago)!   Excellent work! You've built the better mouse trap!

The Best Mouse Trap - Hands Down!

Oct 20, 2008
Just want to give your company an "that's the way to go!"   I am a long time user of Victor mousetraps. I have tried other brands but nothing works as well. With colder weather coming in, mice try to make a home in my older house. Victor mouse traps always come to the rescue.   I placed one on my patio yesterday because my husband had seen a mouse there. I caught one. After smoking the trap with a lighted kitchen match, I rebaited it with peanut butter. This time I caught two mice in the same trap at the same time. I used the same smoking and rebaiting and caught a fourth mouse within an hour. So within two hours I caught four mice. My record is 128 in a week when we first moved in 41 years ago.   I always look for the Victor name when buying mousetraps.
