With one simple “click,” the Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap is ready to catch the unwanted rats in your home. The Power Kill’s oversized pedal is easily activated. When the rodent triggers the pedal, the powerful jaw immediately closes for a quick, humane kill on contact.
How to Use
Set-up is fast and easy for the Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap! Simply fill the bait trough with bait, pull back the High-Impact Kill-Bar™ until it “clicks” into position, and place the trap in desired location. This trap is convenient for both indoor and outdoor use.
How it Works
For your convenience, the trap comes with a large bait trough for easy bait placement. The temptation of rat’s favorite food lures them to step on the oversized pedal. Once the pedal is activated, the powerful kill bar is released, ensuring a quick humane kill. To reuse the trap, simply lift up on the kill bar to release the rat to save the trap, or for a one-time-use dispose of the trap.

The Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap was created for trapping in hard-to-access places. It can be placed in locations indoors and outdoors. For best results, place the traps along walls or in areas where rat activity is visible, with the trigger end facing the wall. Secure the traps in place using the appropriate anchoring method to help keep them from being moved. We also recommend checking the traps regularly and removing any captured rodents promptly. Looked good and set easily, but after sitting outside for two weeks, never tripped. Once it finally did, it wouldn't reset. Sprayed it clean with the hose, but still won't stay set. The old wood ones worked better.

Outdoor conditions can sometimes affect the trigger mechanism, especially if moisture, dirt, or debris gets into the moving parts. We recommend allowing the trap to dry completely, checking that the trigger and latch are properly aligned, and gently cleaning any buildup that may be affecting the reset function. Avoid using high-pressure water directly on the mechanism, as it can sometimes push debris further inside or affect the moving components.

Not a fan of the new trap at all

I just bought a couple of these yesterday for a rat problem in my garden. I set the traps with cameras so I could see when they were caught. What I ended up with was video of the rat(s) stepping on the trap pans several times without the trap even firing. Someone from PETA must have designed these so that the rat wouldn't be hurt.

For the best results, place a small amount of bait in the bait cup only and position the trap perpendicular to a wall or along the rat's normal travel path, with the bait end facing the wall. Bought so many other traps , even the electric ones, and these are the only ones that worked to catch the large roof rats we have a problem with. They are super easy to use and are the only ones that work for these large rats!

I have several of the new all plastic power kill! They are hard to reset most of the time, not sure if it's poor assembly or design? When the work they are good but when you all trouble resetting they don't always click in place or the locking jaw is to short! Not happy!

This is a fantastic piece of kit I bought one started catching rats straight away so I bought another one rat was quite big I think it has moved the panel as the pad is not as sensitive but still works. I have caught 5 rats in 2 weeks. Well done for such an effective trap that actually works.

Very disappointed in the short effective lifespan of the , "Power Kill" traps. Worked well for a very short time but had numerous instances where the bait is gone but the trap didn't trigger. Out of the pack of 2 that I bought, one now won't even lock in the 'loaded' position.

Redesigned model stops working after a few uses

I found that the gray colored trap was redesigned - even the pictures on the website show the old model (without the jagged looking teeth around the based and a shorter spring) and the new model with the "teeth" and longer spring. The old model still works while the redesign one stops working after a few uses. There is no debris in the way and it seems the higher tension spring can't be kept back by whatever plastic sets the trap. Not sure what the problem is and there are no help videos anywhere on how to fix it. Even if the trap is set, it can slip and snap after a few minutes.
I called customer service and they said there is a 1 year warranty though the box makes no mention of it and it says on the bottom of the box "Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back." Not at all true. I told the customer service person that this is poor redesign and defective, but she kept reciting the "customer service" script that I had to find my receipts to prove date of purchase was within 1 year. I won't be buying these again. The previous model worked great and trapped chipmunks and even a few nosey birds. The simple wooden snaps are great, but doesn't catch the bigger varmints.

I got 1 out of 6 plastic pedal rat traps to set. On Victor’s own operations page it suggests getting pliers to adjust to trip bar. What? I need to fix the rat trap in order to use it? Get your shit together Victor and bring the metal bait holder back. Will never buy again.

I bought 2 traps. One was set off but no rat was caught. When I tried to reset the trap it doesn't lock the bar in place and immediately is unset again. How do I fix this.

This is the fourth version of the Victor Power Kill Trap I've used. The stronger spring is a plus but the trip plate doesn't activate with small/baby rats. Also this is the first trap that has broken broken where the safety bar engages I've only had it about six month. Older traps are about 5 years old and still work fine.

I set the trap once caught a rat, then when I went to set it a second time it wouldn’t set.
