With one simple “click,” the Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap is ready to catch the unwanted rats in your home. The Power Kill’s oversized pedal is easily activated. When the rodent triggers the pedal, the powerful jaw immediately closes for a quick, humane kill on contact.
How to Use
Set-up is fast and easy for the Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap! Simply fill the bait trough with bait, pull back the High-Impact Kill-Bar™ until it “clicks” into position, and place the trap in desired location. This trap is convenient for both indoor and outdoor use.
How it Works
For your convenience, the trap comes with a large bait trough for easy bait placement. The temptation of rat’s favorite food lures them to step on the oversized pedal. Once the pedal is activated, the powerful kill bar is released, ensuring a quick humane kill. To reuse the trap, simply lift up on the kill bar to release the rat to save the trap, or for a one-time-use dispose of the trap.
Hard-to-Access Places
The Victor® Power-Kill™ Rat Trap was created for trapping in hard-to-access places. It can be placed in locations indoors and outdoors. Each trap features two holes on the back for attachment to pipes, beams, and other places where rats thrive. Contains no poison, making it an ideal trap for homes with young children and pets. Use with caution.
"I love these power-kill rat traps. They are easy to clean up!"

Set 4 of these up (3 of which caught a rat the first night!). Along with an electronic shock one (which didn’t). Batting .750 with these M144 models. Buy these. They’re inexpensive and they actually work! Proof is in the pudding.
This trap can be set where the trigger flap is not sensitive enough so the rat can steal the bait in the cup without triggering the trap. I saw it serval time on my security camera.
I set the 2 units up with bait and put them outside to trap a rat issue I've been having. Both traps were sprung the next day but no rodents in them. Unfortunately, neither trap will reset anymore. One activation and the "hook" will no longer hold the trap open. I've caught my fingers in these traps more than once trying to get them to reset but to no avail. I can't believe these traps are a one and done type design, but they are. I'm beyond disappointed with these useless traps and I cannot return them to Lowes because I'm just over the 30 days.
Not very good for killing small to medium size rats. First trap went missing second trap I thought killed one till I went to pick it up. It did not stay in the trap but right beside it. It must have only stunned it.
I purchased 2 of the M144 traps but find that often, when the trigger pad is pressed, it does not trip the trap. Critters are eating the bait without getting caught. I see the pad on a downward incline but not tripping the trap. The victor wood traps are way better but I really like the features of the M144 being they were better to release and wouldn't rust like the wood ones.
I bought two traps to use to catch gophers. They worked OK for a couple of weeks. I caught three gophers and then I noticed that the bait was eaten but the traps were not snapped. When I went to rebait the traps, I tried snapping them with a stick and noticed that it took a lot of force to snap them. I am not happy with this purchase.
We appreciate your feedback regarding these traps. They are not recommended for trapping gophers. Please feel free to contact us at 855-584-2867 for assistance in selecting products that would suit your needs.

They work GREAT, ive been using traps for over 50 years, these traps are the best ones ive ever used. I bought a pair of them, and both of them catch a new rat rat, almost every night. I am in fact buying 2 more today.
Powerkill lives up to its name hands down. See my 2 in 1 blow photo. Enough power to spare! Trapped 12 rats in a week, 1 to 3 a night. Can't understand the negative reviews although of the 3 powerkill rat traps I have, 1 trapped 9 rats, 1 trapped 2 & 3rd trapped only 1 so there might be some sensitivity between them or it could just be placement & opportunity. No empty bait cups or triggered empty traps. Tried Tomcat clam-shell type snap rat trap but rats wouldn't put their heads inside & preferred open air powerkill traps every time. I highly recommend Victor Powerkill traps and would buy again to rid my bird feeding station of unwanted suet & seed thieves.
Thank you for this feedback. We're sorry to hear that the trap is no longer working. It has a one year replacement policy. Reach out to us via the Contact Us page for assistance.

Not sensitive enough

Bought a pack of two. Neither one works. The pedal needs too much force to trigger. There is too much contact area between the pedal and the hook that holds it. Come out to empty bait cups over and over, and rats decimating my garden.
Thank you for this feedback. We're sorry to hear that the desired results are not being seen with these traps. These concerns have been shared with our Product Manager. They have a 30 day return period at the retailer.
How should I clean the plastic rat snap trap after catching a rat.

Use a hydrogen peroxide topical solution (available at most drug stores) and an old toothbrush to clean the trap. Let the trap thoroughly dry before use. Thank you for your question.
