Caught the first one within a couple days with the trap and it worked like a charm. The mouse still had his mouth on the peanut butter so kill was instant. I've re-set the trap in the mean time but unsuccessful so far even though there is obvious mice activity around the trap. Have they figured out the danger already of entering the trap?Date published: 2015-12-25Rated 2 out of 5 by Vieira from Great at Catching, but Poor Longevity When working, these traps are Great! On the advice of a friend, I bought three traps in the last two weeks and have had three different problems; one trap caught two mice and then started making a load buzzing sound when turned on, another was missing a door hinge pin so I had to make a tape hinge, and one caught 10 mice and then quit working for no apparent reason. I handled the units very carefully so they were not abused. Not sure why I got three lemons???Date published: 2015-12-15Rated 4 out of 5 by Tee123 from Good Product This is the best product yet, however I am disappointed that when a mouse was caught the light did not flash for 7 days as stated. So happen I smelled a foul smell and when I checked the box there was a dead mouse. Can you tell me why the trap does not flash for 7 days indicating that there was a catch? I would have given it 5 stars if would have given me an indication that there was a mouse inside the box. I only had my trap for 3 days.Date published: 2015-12-07Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed from Doesn't work for me I've had these traps for about a month now and haven't caught one mouse. I put peanut butter in them as suggested and put them where I've seem the mice running, two upstairs and one in the basement and nothing. I ever tried squirt cheese that I know they like and still nothing. Nice idea but doesn't work for me.Date published: 2015-11-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Mike1889 from easy peasy I placed the traps in my camper and two days later had a mouse in two of the three traps. Turned them off, opened the door over a garbage can and the mice fell out. Closed the door, put the traps back in place and turned them back on. I don't know how it could be any easier.Date published: 2015-11-03Rated 5 out of 5 by CindyM from Best Mouse Trap Ever! On a farm there are always rodents. Mice have been an issue since we moved in four years ago. And because we have grain and hay it is the perfect welcome mat. I had purchased these traps about two years ago because I didn't want snap traps or poisons around farm animals and since I am the one in the barn I knew I would be the one maintaining the traps. Simply put, there is no mess, they are effective and the price is perfect. Loading batteries, applying a little dab of peanut butter and turning it on...I walk away. I check for the flashing green light at least once a day and if there is a catch I turn off the unit open the door and dispose in the trash. Reset and do it again. The first winter I used them I caught 100 mice with my three units. It was a very cold winter. The last couple of winters I've caught less that 50. I had to replace my units this year so the investment certainly paid off in the couple of years I had my original units. I don't write review but these are great traps.Date published: 2015-11-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from A great Mouse Trap! I bought three of the Victor Electronic Mouse Traps and put them to use right away. After fighting with conventional traps and the D-Con rattletrap, these new electronic traps from Victor are a gift from heaven. At first, I had to check the traps every couple of hours just to remove the deceased rodents and reset them - after three days, no more mice. I will never use any other trap than the Victor Electronic!Date published: 2015-10-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Adez from Awesome product!! I bought this based off of all the great reviews I read. I got it home and it worked just as advertised. Mouse gone, everyone's happy!Date published: 2015-10-24
Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do I place the trap?
A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. For example, if you have a mouse in your house (super small droppings as compared to rat droppings, which are about the size of half a raisin).
Q: How do I bait it?/What should I use to bait it?
A: To bait the Electronic Mouse Trap, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along the back wall of the trap in the bait trough provided. We’ve carefully researched and recommend baiting with anything high in protein like peanut butter or hazelnut spread. Place a small amount of bait (the size of a pea) against the back wall of the kill chamber. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. Please don’t place the bait or any other material directly on the metal plates as this will falsely trip the system.
Q: How do I clean the trap?
A: Through repeat use and baiting, dust and debris can settle on the metal plates inside the trap, so we recommend that you clean your trap between each use. To clean the trap:
- Turn the unit to the off position and remove the batteries
- Wipe the metal plates with a damp cloth (water or unscented dish detergent only)
- Allow the Electronic Mouse Trap to air dry completely
- Replace the batteries and turn the unit back on.
Q: Is the buzzing/clicking normal?
A: The buzzing and slight clicking sound with the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is normal during the start-up of the trap. When you first turn the trap on, the green light will blink momentarily and then you will hear the buzzing or a slight clicking sound indicating that you trap is working properly and starting up.
Q: Is it reusable?
A: The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is reusable. These traps are able to kill up to 100 mice per set of batteries.
