Humane Catch and Release

Humane Catch & Release

This innovative, non-lethal mouse trap is designed to humanely catch and release mice without harming them. The trap catches four mice per setting and the transparent lid design makes it easy to see when you’ve caught a mouse. After a catch, release mice at least 2 miles from your house, away from other neighborhoods.

Easy to Use

Using this trap is easy – simply apply bait in the designated bait cup and place the trap indoors or outdoors where you’ve seen activity. There’s no setting required. The see-saw design lets mice into the trap and once fully inside, mice cannot escape. Once a catch has been made, the rear door opens for offsite release, so you never have to touch the rodent.

Helpfulness
Having tested over 100+ traps I would NOT RECOMMEND

I simply would never recommend this product to anyone. I've tested over 100+ traps on mice and this one simply has been one of the worst I have seen..Mice seem to avoid this product even when tested with different baits and locations. On the odd occasion it does catch a mouse the mouse would chew its way out. I bought 3 of the traps to ensure it wasn't faulty traps but still yielded the same results. Now if you are looking for a effective trap I will share you a secret. I do find the classic wooden victor snap trap works very well almost all the time but to solve some of the issues the trap has tuck a little cotton into the baitpad and smear peanut butter into the cotton. Works almost 100% of the time even with the smartest mice. I hope this review is helpful.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Victor® Catch & Hold™ Mouse Trap. This trap is designed for humane, live capture when used as directed, but placement and setup can greatly affect success. Try positioning the trap along walls where mouse activity is visible and ensure the entrance doors are fully open. Check the trap frequently to prevent mice from damaging the divider once captured. Your feedback is appreciated and will be shared with our product team for review.

Seems like a nice design, but at first use the mouse chewed the plastic that separates the two chambers at the end of the foot pedal and somehow was able to get back out.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Victor® Catch & Hold™ Mouse Trap. This trap is designed for humane, live capture when used as directed. In rare cases, a mouse may chew through the divider if it remains in the trap for an extended period. We recommend checking the trap frequently and relocating captured mice promptly to prevent damage. Please give us a call at 1-855-584-2867, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM ET, so we can assist you further and ensure you’re satisfied with your purchase.
Lasted one week: The design of this trap is insufficient because of plastic in some areas that can be chewed.

The design of this trap would work well if some areas were metal instead of plastic. In the entry area above the tilting ramp there are plastic barriers that are part of the roof design. Once trapped inside, mice chew these mounded plastic roof barriers and when sufficiently reduced, mice consistently escape. If the plastic roof barriers (the middle one in particular) were metal or reinforced with some thin sheet metal, the product would probably work for more than a week, and perhaps function well for years. This product did not undergo proper testing in the new product introduction process and it may now start receiving very unfavorable ratings such as mine.

It worked very well and managed to catch around six mice. About 48 hours after being deployed, lucky mouse number seven chewed through the side tab to escape. The older design was better.

Checked the traps today, they were filled with mouse droppings and no mice! So much for the mouse traps. I've never thought I'd be saying this but the engineers need to perform MORE mouse testing before releasing a product.

The new Victor Catch and Hold mouse traps are inferior to the original version.

Your original Victor Catch and Hold mouse traps worked well and only rarely could a mouse escape from the trap. Recently I ordered more traps, and received the NEW clear topped Catch and Hold traps, and in a very short time a mouse can chew the hard black plastic near the release flap (where they can see daylight coming in around that door) or by the side latches, making these traps unlikely to be “reusable” more than once or twice. With the original smoke colored traps with the sliding lid, I NEVER saw bits of plastic chewed off from inside the trap, and they can easily be used many times. Having a straight head on entry instead of a tunnel with the entry off to the side after entering the tunnel IS an improvement over the original version.

Mice are enough to escape the traps. I have carefully followed the directions for two different models of Victor catch and release mouse traps—mice are able to safely stop by for a snack, leave a turd or more, and leave.

New version doesn't work

I loved the original version of these. They caught many mice before they eventually chewed though the plastic. This one I've had for almost a year and it hasn't caught a single mouse.

I had a heavy infestation.

I had a heavy infestation. Baited the trap with peanut butter and within two hours I had caught four mice. The next day I caught two more. Now I've caught a total of nine with this single trap. I haven't had issues with the mice chewing through as others have stated. However, I do see where this could be possible if left alone long enough.

This trap features a transparent top so you can easily see inside. The rear door opens for convenient, offsite release after a catch, and the lid opens for easy cleaning.
The trap is reusable and can be emptied and reset as many times as needed.
