Good product but lacks tips on usage, would be great if added. By Mike
1st night caught a pack rat. So far so good. My complaint is the packaging contain no instructions. While simple enough to use some of the tips on this site arent included. You could print these on the inside of the packaging so not adding any more paper.
Good product though I'll buy more in the future.

As advertised By Katy

My neighbor recommend Rat Zappers and lent me one for a while. I quickly saw how effective they are and bought three. They are now at work, protecting my crawlspace and garage. Unlike poison or traditional mousetraps, I can use Rat Zappers around my dog. I was upset to find a zapped chipmunk early on, but they are rodents too. There are lots of squirrels around, but I haven't zapped any yet -- and don't want to. They are happy feeding on acorns and nesting in the trees.

Works well - some concern about battery life By tonyjoe

Trap works as advertised. I caught 1 mouse and 1 small rat, then after cleaning thoroughly it would only flash red. (I had a new set of Duracell in it) Came to this site and saw that this was often low batteries. Changed the batteries and it works again. Wondering if it could be because I had been away and the mouse was maybe in there a couple of weeks and drained the batteries. I'll see how long the next set last. Other than that I am very happy with it. The rat dies humanely and there is no poisoned carcass to poison other animals.

The Rat Zapper is a great tool for any home, rural or suburb. By Ronald

The Rat Zapper is pretty amazing. Easy to load and pretty much takes care of anything that walks into it. I has zapped mice, rats and gophers so far. Just load, turn in on and leave it in a established trail. I live in the country, on 6 acres and mice and other rodents are a real problem. In addition the mice and rats are easily disposed of without having to actually touch them. A great product.

They work great and hope they keep on working. By Ranchmom

We live on a retirement ranch, and have a doggy door. Since getting the traps we catch something every night. We put 4 of them out in and outside the house. Nothing worse than finding mouse turds on your counters. We also have pack rats around and have caught/killed a few of them. Feel better now with the traps around.

Works great By Joe

I bought 1 from local store and ended up buying 3 from website. At first they were not working until I started putting dry dog food inside them. I have switched to peanut butter inside the back along the side of the inside and in the middle between the front and zap area. I have caught both mice and rats

Pretty good product By D

I bought 3 of the silver and 3 of the blue/ purple. The silver works the best, kills rats, mice, anything that crawls inside. I use mine outside under a covered patio but Victor should make a waterproof one!

Good product By S

These worked great for the first two weeks. The traps caught 15 rats, practically one per night. Then I noticed the traps would be flashing red but nothing was inside. Finally, there was a random rainstorm while I was at work which fried two of them. Initially a great product to invest in but are rather water sensitive and too expensive to replace.

A good product but you have to outthink the rats. By Murph

This is a good product. Users need to read up on rat behavior to get the best results. Rats are wary about changes in their surroundings. If you have been unsuccessful with a bait in a spring trap the same bait will likely not work with this trap and it might make them wary of the trap for other bait as well. Also avoid touching the trap with your bare hands. Rats can be wary of human scent. Good luck and be patient.

Heebie jeebies By Raye
I bought this a few weeks ago after finding a dead rat in my spare closed off bathroom.
I freaked out and got hysterical and went on a mission to find out if there were more. I ordered this device and baited it and was stoked to rid myself of this nightmare. Nothing happenned for weeks. I thought maybe there were no more but then i started finding evidence. I moved it all over my house and even contacted victor to see what I was doing wrong. 4 days ago I found the entrance. A hole in my wall behind my fridge. I placed the trap directly in front of the hole. I've caught 2 in 2 nights.
Super easy disposal and I don't know what I would do without this device because I am absolutely disgusted by rats and I'd never be able to handle glue or snap. Don't even have to see the body but somehow I always look to see what I caught. Reset now and hoping to go 3 for 3.
I'm even considering ordering more because I'm so mortified there's rats in my home

Works great! By Country Girl
I got these traps a few weeks ago and put one in the garage and one outside along the wall of the house. There have been several mice in the garage trap but one almost every night in the outside trap! I got one before bed one night and reset it to have another in the trap the next morning. I just wish the trap would still work after being tripped, since I'm sure there would be more than one killed each night. No rats yet, but I've had them before and am glad the trap can accommodate a large rat.

It's nice to just have to glance for the blinking red light to know if it's been tripped or not, and it's much nicer to dump the mice out of the trap than have to deal with a disgusting snap trap. It was a good buy and well worth the cost!

Wish the rats weren\'t getting so smart. By Ben K
Bought the 3-pack to increase my no. of captures. It's been a week now and no luck. I see the droppings nearby, so I know that they're still here. I've used these zappers before, and they've always done their job. I'm patient. Actually, I'm going to refresh the bait. I'm using peanut butter and dried dog food. The rats must be getting smarter this year!

I received the order promptly, in good condition. Unfortunately, 1 of the 6 Zappers was defective, missing the plates in the battery compartment necessary to install batteries. Haven't had time to contact customer service yet. Hopefully, this will be resolved.

Great design but malfunction problem By NWTQ
I like the design of the rat zapper. Had bought three of the smaller units previously and had problems with rats getting wedged in the trap after being electrocuted. This design is far superior for the rats I have been trying to eliminate. I rat tail is a excellent innovation - prevents me from climbing into my attic space each day to inspect.
I have had a nagging problem with two of the four units I purchased after a few kills. The units appear to be working fine with green light lighting up as usual when turning the unit on. However units no longer kill the rats and rat tail lights up solid red and bait is eaten. Would like to know if this problem is repairable? What might have happened to cause this solid red light display?
There is nothing like these units on the market - I think this is the most humane way to kill these pests - I like the concept. However I don't want to have to purchase a new unit every 4-6 rat kills. What can I do to avoid this problem?

Bought the buy two, get one free. Two work well but, not sure if one has enough power...the red light flashes (indicating a kill) but, the rat has managed to get away three times

I had an old rat zapper that I was very happy with until it wore out. I have tried one of the new ones and I'm not sure if it's working properly or not. It's too soon to tell. I was very happy with the purchase experience, however.

Amazon Review, It works By
Thus far, it's accounted for four rats and appears to be working as advertized. We've not had the problems mentioned in the lower ratings and are quite satisfied. We've found that a small amount of dog kibble works for our rodent population. You do have to keep checking for the flashing red light, though. We didn't do that once and the result was a bit messy.

I have several mice that try to make a living in the backroom of my garage every single year around this time and I get them every single year-I dont know if they talk or what but it has always been a problem. I never get them in the house thank God for that. So I set this out for a few nights to no avail and on the third night was a bingo-caught two of them ready to make their winter break home back there. Easy cleanup and done til next year! I hope! Lol This is much nicer than the old traps-no cheese and I dont slap my hand in the wires which I always seemed to do!

Amazon Review, Stellar product that gets the job done. By
This is my 2nd rat zapper. We use them to kill chipmunks in our small back yard. I initially tried to use this when temps were 30 degrees and below and it just doesn't work. I have changed the batteries this spring and have already caught two pests in one week - a mouse and a chipmunk. We have chipmunks and I'm starting to see new holes in the yard. I initially struggled using this product since I am an animal lover, but my yard is getting wrecked and I'm tired of having all my hard work get destroyed. I am also tired of large amounts of poop in my garage, all over my shelving. This unit is very easy to use - though I really wish the back had an opening. I'm always so paranoid to stick my hand in there to load the bait, even with the item turned off. I take out a battery when I load the bait, just to be sure I don't get zapped. LOL A "back door" that opened for easy bait loading would be much appreciated! I'm using peanut butter as bait, which seems to be very effective. I do like that this kills the pest quickly, humanely and cleanly. There's no blood, etc. Just tip the device into a yard waste bag and load bat again. I was doing the catch and release method with Havahart, but got tired of giving chipmunks a ride to the local park, wasting gas and time. There are times when a chipmunk will get a free meal and the red light indicates a kill, but there's no chipmunk inside. I attribute this to batteries needing to be replaced. Easy to use, easy to set and works well. Love the blinking red light telling you you've got a catch!

Given the restrictions of this trap, it seems to work okay. I put some crackers with peanut butter for bait and set the trap where I thought the rat was traveling in my garage. 4 days later, the red light was blinking and I had a large, adult rat in the trap. I slid him out into a small plastic bag for insertion into the garbage pail and put the trap back down. The bait was still there. As others have mentioned, I am not convinced that this trap is any easier or more sanitary than the normal rat traps. It is a little safer, though. Most pets would be too large to be able to go into the interior of the trap and touch the electric plate. Perhaps they could stick their paws into the opening to try to retrieve the bait, but it doesn't seem likely that they would be seriously injured doing so. Given that I have pets that do go in/out of my garage with some frequency, this is the rat trap that I'll use in the garage, rather than a regular trap that could possibly break their toes or perhaps a nose.

I'm a fan of the Rat Zapper Ultra, and use it to zap mice in our home. I already had a Rat Zapper Classic, and found it performed admirably, but was excited about the Ultra because of the extra kills you get from the batteries. With the Classic I found I'd get a few mice, but then the juice would wear down quickly and I'd hear it go off but then not find anything within. So, that's not cool. But, with the Ultra, I don't have to change the batteries as often, and it's still nice and easy to kill & dispose of the critters. The indicator light is also a nice plus. Now, to be clear, this isn't perfect - cleaning it can be a pain when it gets, um, messy (mostly from food), and it does still miss some mice, but on the whole, it's better than a lot of other products out there, and is much cleaner / safer than snap traps or glue traps in my opinion.
