I experienced rats in the attic and was capturing them with an old-fashioned rat spring trap. The challenge was that I needed to take out my ladder every few days and check which was a major inconvenience. This was why when I came across the WiFi Rat Trap I was very excited because I would know the status of the trap at all times. However, what I have discovered while using the product is the following: - No audible sound or visual indicator that the shock component of the trap is working. After 4 months of using the trap without any kills and still using a spring loaded rat trap that is killing rats, you begin to question if the electronic rat trap is working. - Even placing steel wool in the trap, there is very little spark again supporting does this trap have enough shock to kill a rat. However, when calling Victor about the product and getting support, it was one of the best experiences I have encountered. The rep was very helpful and pleasant. They provided me a replacement product at no cost. This is the reason why Victor products will always be my first choice. My rating for this product would increase if there was a visual indicator that the trap is working plus I would have a few kills.

Beef up the bait door By Jack

This is a great trap and I have zapped 3 rats so far. However, one issue I have with this trap is the the little bait door is not very secure. I had a Rat figure out it could open the door. Maybe it was too stupid to crawl around and enter as intended, but this weekend I found the bait door had been snapped open. I think this part of the trap needs to be redesigned to stay shut more firmly.

Yet to deliver on claim - jury is still out By DaveC426913

No rats yet but a couple of mice. Heed the instructions: "For **indoor** use only". Trap has a number of problems if used outdoors: 1] Raccoons are much stronger than rats and will happily abscond with the entire trap. 2] Raccoons are much more inquisitive than rats, and the bait trap door is child's play for them. 3] Outdoors is messy enough that trap is easily triggered on false alarms. I'm actually looking in the trap right now - there's nothing in it, yet it is in full-on continuous "Zap" mode. A twig for just a bit of leaf might be enough to set it off. 4] So far, despite mice and false alarms, it has yet to send a single notice to my phone.
