Q.I've been using my Rat Zapper Ultra for over a year and it has worked great. But, recently, the red light is flashing but no rat or rodent is inside of it. The bait is still there too. I have replaced the batteries but same problem. Is there something wrong with the Rat Zapper?
A.

When the trap is first turned on, does it start flashing red right away or does it flash green once? We would like to learn more about what is occurring and provide further assistance. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for additional help.

Q.What does it mean when the green light blinks. This is not the green light that goes on once when you turn the thing on, but a steady blink every 5 seconds or so. Thank you in advance.

Q.Can the Rat Zapper be used outside in my garden? I've definitely got rats (see dropping, eating leaves off a particular plant) and have set snap traps with peanut butter bait but no takers. I thought I'd try the Zapper, but can it be used outdoors?
A.

This trap is designed for indoor use only. Check out these 15 Rat-Trapping Tips or contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for further assistance.

Q.Can you clarify that the Rat Zapper only works once at a time? Found one dead mouse but the bait was gone which meant his buddies picked the bait up afterwards. Red light was blinking and turned off and turned on again. Thanks
A.

This trap does need to be powered off and on again after each catch.

Q.I bought zapper on Nov 21 and it killed seven mice over 48 hours, much appreciated. But the mice must have sent an email to their mice buddies since no new mice have been killed. I turned off the unit, put in fresh PB bait and set unit where mice are suspected to continue to feed. I did not turn on the unit and some critter entered the Zapper and took all the bait, as a test. I put in new PB bait and a tiny bit of PB on part of a cracker in the concrete in front of the Zapper and turned on the unit, got an OK red light. No new captures but something ate the PB cracker. I put out some traditional Victor traps in front of the Zapper and caught one. Do mice get trained not to go into the Zapper when it is on?
A.

If any bait is touching the metal plates, it could cause the unit to falsely activate or the rodent may not receive the full shock that is needed to kill them. We recommend cleaning the trap and using a toothpick amount of peanut butter on the back wall of the trap only. Also, we recommend using either the snap traps or the electronic traps. If both are used in the same room, the rodent will go to the trap with the most readily available bait first.
