Q.It is turned on and the green light indicates it is ready. I come back and it is blinking red. The trap is empty. It has happened several times with several traps. What does that indicate?
A.

The red flashing light is supposed to indicate a catch, but if you are finding that a number of false catches are occurring, it could mean that there is debris on your plates. To ensure that your trap works when it is supposed to, keep the metal plates clean so the trap won’t trigger at the wrong time. This also includes making sure that you are not over-baiting your trap, as excess bait could fall onto the plates and set them off, after which any rodent may safely enter to remove the food.
