Description

Victor® TIN CAT® Mouse Trap with Window

The Victor® TIN CAT® Mouse Trap with Window and cover all bases at your business, home or office. For use indoors or outdoors, each reusable metal trap can catch and hold up to 30 mice. Since it does not include any poisons and simply contains the mice without harming them, they may be used near children, pets, food and water. An added feature of this model is the viewing window, which allows you to see when a mouse has been caught, as well as how full the trap is.

Simple 3-Step Method

  1. Bait – Just a dab of peanut butter is all it takes.
  2. Place – Put the trap along a wall or next to a hole where mice have been located.
  3. Release – When the trap is full, dispose of the captives following your local authority’s guidelines for releasing captured animals into the wild. The trap may then be reused or stored away until needed again.

Large Capacity for Maximum Effectiveness

Each unit can lure and trap up to 30 mice before needing to be emptied, and will eliminate your problem in no time!

Convenient Indoor and Outdoor Design

Indoors, the TIN CAT® mice trap’s sleek design allows for inconspicuous placement in your home, particularly in drop ceilings, raised floors and underneath furniture. Outdoors, the traps can prevent mice from even getting inside!

No-Touch, Non-Lethal Rodent Solution

Turned off by the thought of handling a dead mouse? Then the TIN CAT® is perfect for you! Rather than kill rodents, this trap lets you return them back to their original home in the wild – without ever touching them! Familiarize yourself with local guidelines first so that you release them where you are allowed to.

Prevent Escapes with a Simple Upgrade

Add our pre-baited Victor® Glue Boards (model BM309) for enhanced effectiveness. Designed to insert easily into the trap, the glue board will help keep mice from moving about and attempting to escape. A little olive oil is all that is needed to free them afterward. It is advised that you check the trap more frequently if you add a glue trap, as you will want to ensure that the opening does not become blocked by mice that become stuck upon entering.

Effective and Easy By Beanie

Within an hour of putting the trap (with peanut butter as bait) along the wall and turning out the lights, I caught a fat little mouse. He did crawl into the little ramp housing area but I simply turned the trap over and gave it a few quick shakes and out he jumped to live another day. Great option for those who don't want to kill while not having to touch the mouse.

Design flaw By Dee

I'm a rodent fan (just not in my house) and an experienced Havahart user. I thought I'd give the Tin Cat a try, since it looked like better overnight accommodations for the mice. So far I've caught two mice in 4 of the window traps - not sure if it's because they're not that effective, or the infestation isn't as bad as it was in the spring. The traps are very sturdy. My complaint is that the 2 mice I've caught holed up in the ramp housing and didn't want to come out when the trap was opened. I pulled one out by the tail (with gloves - I would really rather not have to handle them at all) and had to fuss with blocking the inner entrance to one ramp housing while poking and prodding the mouse in other one, since it kept dashing from one to the other without leaving the trap. I don't have time to mess with them like that in the morning.

Caught 5 mice my first night By Teresa

I put them all out and first night I caught 5 Second night 6 Third night 4 I believe that the window makes the mice on the outside look at the mice on the inside and they want to join the party. I know that these are catch and release, however, because I have a plant nursery and we are in a rural type area, I would suggest that you offer a drowning tray.

Does not work By Janjan

I too think that they have figured out this trap as I see mouse droppings and no mouse in this trap. This does not work without the glue trap inside. So much for humane catch.

Response From Victor®
Patty : Consumer Relations Representative

We are sorry to hear about this occurrence with the trap and will be happy to help.

The see-saw mechanisms at the entrances are designed to keep the mice inside. We recommend checking that these ramps are functioning properly and that the lid is staying snapped shut. Our traps are covered by a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and a one-year replacement warranty. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for additional assistance.

Q&A
Q.Does this trap have CE mark for application of UE market?
A.

This trap does not have a CE mark.

Q.I bought the tin cat trap. Instructions are "bait the trap-a dab of peanut butter is all it takes." Where, inside this trap are you supposed to place the bait? I thank you
A.

The bait can be placed anywhere inside the trap.

Q.If I get this mouse trap, how far away do I have to release the mice so they won't return to our house? Is across the road far enough, as that's where there are no houses, only Federal Parkland?
A.

If local laws permit, we recommend releasing the mouse in a habitable environment at least 2 miles away, preferably over a natural barrier such as a stream.
