We are sorry to hear the desired results were not seen! When presented with a choice rodents will frequent the trap with the most easily accessible bait first. To see the full potential of this product, we recommend using one style trap in each area that needs protected.

100% Effective By heyJoe

Bought the rat trap and I am using it to kill chipmunks. Saw a YouTube video for killing chipmunks and it works great. I am using the trap outdoors and keeping it sheltered from the weather. Have killed 23 chipmunks in 3 weeks. Easy and absolutely no mess. Rarely see them anymore. No more tunneling and destruction of my garden. Great purchase and worth every penny.

My 3rd rat trap By D

I purchased my 3rd electronic rat trap few weeks ago; however, it did not work as those old ones. The customer service provided some tips, but it is still not working. Finally, I got a replacement, and it works like a charm.

Victor -Highly Recommended. Tips and Tricks By Jan

These Victor e-Traps really work their hearts out.. Highly productive, compared to other traps and poison. We have roof rats and they got in and trashed my kitchen and pantry while we were away for six months. I'm still cleaning. They fouled everything. It's a real nightmare for a housekeeper to come home to a mess like this. I've killed 27 so far in about one month, some from plastic paddle traps but these Victor e-Traps are more productive and consistent because they will get any size rodent that can fit inside. The paddle traps come up empty a lot of times and don't often get the small immature rats. Last summer I killed 50 rats out of the neighborhood. We have a problem with rats here and have for many years, because we live near Hollywood Park race track but this year and last are especially bad. Stables have grain and oat straw, so they harbor rats and mice. Now Hollywood Park has been torn down to make way for the new football stadium and the displaced rats have gone out into the neighborhood, looking for food and shelter. I already own two of these Victor traps and I just bought four more. I tried the Chinese knock offs, but they don't catch anything. I'm going to stick with the Victor brand. Now, here is how I do it.. I chum the rats. In other words, I establish feeding stations in areas that I know they travel in, and I start out by feeding them crushed egg noodles, sometimes sunflower seeds. When they are coming to get fed every day, and the food is all disappearing, I set out the baited traps. I just throw a little bit of seed or crushed egg noodles inside the trap and a little on the outside. Pretty soon they are committing suicide inside these traps. If you set the traps out about an hour before sunset, you will kill one per trap, and then you can reset them and in the morning you will have another in each trap, so you can get two per trap per day that way. The trick is to chum the rats in an area you know they are going to find, before baiting and setting your traps. If you do this, you will catch rats. I found that they always like egg noodles, sunflower seeds or bird seed. I never had any luck with peanut butter or peanuts. Once they are accustomed to a particular kind of food, they will prefer it over something new. They also like anything with oil in it, like salad dressing, cooking oil, etc so maybe chunks of bread with oil, but the sunflower seeds and pasta are less messy. Good luck, and "Death to Rats"!!! BTW, if you chum in your trapping area, when you see that there are still egg noodles and sunflower seeds still on the ground in the morning, it's a pretty good sign that you have killed off that colony completely, at least for that season.

Excellent! By Daniel

The best $50 I've spent to stop a rat problem that's cost 1000s in damage to autos and home. Every morning I find one more dead rat. Last night I actually had one rat in it 10 minutes after I set the trap! This is a great product I highly recommend. Wish I had several more!

Q.After I catch a mouse and discarded the mouse, do I have to turn it off and back on again to reset the trap?

After each kill the trap will need to be turned off, cleaned, re-baited and then turned back on.

Q.I put peanut butter in the bait cup and turned on the trap. The green light did flash on. A couple days latter I was surprised not to find a rat because we have seen a few running around. So I checked the bait cup to find that much of the peanut butter was missing. I double checked that the trap was on and it was. How is the best was to verify that the trap is working properly? I rather not keep feeding these guys. Thank you Henry

As long as the green light flashes once when the trap is turned on, it is working correctly. We recommend cleaning the trap with a hydrogen peroxide solution (first turning the trap off and removing the batteries) and then baiting the trap with a toothpick amount of peanut butter in the bait cup provided.

Q.What causes a buzzing SOUND and light to stay red.

If the unit is buzzing without a catch, we recommend cleaning it to make sure that there is no debris on the metal plates causing the trap to think a rodent is inside.

To do this:

  • Turn the trap off and remove the batteries.
  • Use a hydrogen peroxide topical solution (available at most drug stores) and an old toothbrush to clean the inside of the chamber. If needed, use a wire brush to remove any corrosion, being careful not to be too vigorous. This could accidentally remove all of the protective zinc plating.
  • Allow the interior and exterior of the kill chamber to air dry completely before reassembling.
  • Bait the trap.
  • Re-insert the batteries and turn the trap on.
