1Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is rated out of 5 by 111.Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed from Doesn't work for me I've had these traps for about a month now and haven't caught one mouse. I put peanut butter in them as suggested and put them where I've seem the mice running, two upstairs and one in the basement and nothing. I ever tried squirt cheese that I know they like and still nothing. Nice idea but doesn't work for me.Date published: 2015-11-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Mike1889 from easy peasy I placed the traps in my camper and two days later had a mouse in two of the three traps. Turned them off, opened the door over a garbage can and the mice fell out. Closed the door, put the traps back in place and turned them back on. I don't know how it could be any easier.Date published: 2015-11-03Rated 5 out of 5 by CindyM from Best Mouse Trap Ever! On a farm there are always rodents. Mice have been an issue since we moved in four years ago. And because we have grain and hay it is the perfect welcome mat. I had purchased these traps about two years ago because I didn't want snap traps or poisons around farm animals and since I am the one in the barn I knew I would be the one maintaining the traps. Simply put, there is no mess, they are effective and the price is perfect. Loading batteries, applying a little dab of peanut butter and turning it on...I walk away. I check for the flashing green light at least once a day and if there is a catch I turn off the unit open the door and dispose in the trash. Reset and do it again. The first winter I used them I caught 100 mice with my three units. It was a very cold winter. The last couple of winters I've caught less that 50. I had to replace my units this year so the investment certainly paid off in the couple of years I had my original units. I don't write review but these are great traps.Date published: 2015-11-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from A great Mouse Trap! I bought three of the Victor Electronic Mouse Traps and put them to use right away. After fighting with conventional traps and the D-Con rattletrap, these new electronic traps from Victor are a gift from heaven. At first, I had to check the traps every couple of hours just to remove the deceased rodents and reset them - after three days, no more mice. I will never use any other trap than the Victor Electronic!Date published: 2015-10-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Adez from Awesome product!! I bought this based off of all the great reviews I read. I got it home and it worked just as advertised. Mouse gone, everyone's happy!Date published: 2015-10-24Rated 5 out of 5 by vsoto216 from Great product and features This is by far the best mouse trap that I have ever gotten. I have recommended to anyone that tells me they have mice. I will never use any other mouse trap because the others can't compare to this.Date published: 2015-10-20Rated 4 out of 5 by BullyGrrl from Humane and Safe around PETS!!! So far, so good! We caught 1 mouse our 1st night, and 2 on the 2nd. Having 3 dogs & 2 parrots i am EXTREMELY cautious over what I introduce in the house. Chemicals were not an option, tried glue traps but decided they ARE in fact way too cruel, snap traps either don't hold the bait or had a residual blood stain left to deal with, and as much as I would love to catch and release, that just isn't a permanent solution for where I live. Growing more desperate to put an end to this issue, I found these traps while scouring the Internet for appropriate options. I was initially skeptical the product would deliver as advertised. With the buy 2 get 1 free deal, I decided it was worth a try. After carefully scrutinizing each unit & its methods I put them into action. After 2 night & 3 mice I am convinced this IS IN FACT THE MOST HUMANE WAY TO TERMINATE MICE! I didn't hear them cry like I did sometimes with the glue or snap traps. When I power the unit on, I can hear the charge & I know it's working. A little zap, & in a humane & sanitary way the mouse is gone. For animal lovers that are reluctant to harm any critters in the first place, this is VERY IMPORTANT! I plan on sharing this with all of my animal friends. (Especially a friend who's dog got into DECON a few weeks ago!) My only complaint is I agree sometimes it is hard to catch the flashing green light, & one unit arrived with a slightly broken hinge, but I've still managed I get it to work.Date published: 2015-10-19Rated 5 out of 5 by zortron2000 from the best mouse catcher the best mouse catcher I have ever owned. only wish it had a beep signal when a mouse was inside. since its sometimes hard for me to see the light otherwise I highly recommend it to catch any mice you may have..Date published: 2015-10-16
Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do I place the trap?
A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. For example, if you have a mouse in your house (super small droppings as compared to rat droppings, which are about the size of half a raisin).
Q: How do I bait it?/What should I use to bait it?
A: To bait the Electronic Mouse Trap, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along the back wall of the trap in the bait trough provided. We’ve carefully researched and recommend baiting with anything high in protein like peanut butter or hazelnut spread. Place a small amount of bait (the size of a pea) against the back wall of the kill chamber. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. Please don’t place the bait or any other material directly on the metal plates as this will falsely trip the system.
Q: How do I clean the trap?
A: Through repeat use and baiting, dust and debris can settle on the metal plates inside the trap, so we recommend that you clean your trap between each use. To clean the trap:
- Turn the unit to the off position and remove the batteries
- Wipe the metal plates with a damp cloth (water or unscented dish detergent only)
- Allow the Electronic Mouse Trap to air dry completely
- Replace the batteries and turn the unit back on.
Q: Is the buzzing/clicking normal?
A: The buzzing and slight clicking sound with the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is normal during the start-up of the trap. When you first turn the trap on, the green light will blink momentarily and then you will hear the buzzing or a slight clicking sound indicating that you trap is working properly and starting up.
Q: Is it reusable?
A: The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is reusable. These traps are able to kill up to 100 mice per set of batteries.
