Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap - A New Twist on a Classic Design

Simplify your rodent control routine with the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trapp. Using the original wooden snap trap design with an improved larger trip pedal to ensure higher catch rates, this trap will help you to effectively eliminate rodents around your household or business. Two settings, Firm and Sensitive, allow you to control the sensitivity of the trap. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings. In addition, these traps require no chemicals or poisons.

Quick and Effective

Expanded Trigger Plate

The Wide Pedal Mouse Trap enhances the classic snap trap design by adding a large plastic trigger plate to ensure higher catch rates. The expanded size means it can be easily activated both by rodent interest in food and through accidental contact as mice scamper across the floor.

Easy 4-Step Setup

For your convenience, the Victor® Wide Pedal Mouse Trap is very easy to use. Get your trap setup by following these four simple steps:

  1. Release the Arm Bar - Remove the staple and move it so the arm hangs over the back of the trap.
  2. Bait the Trap - Apply bait on the plastic pedal for best results. Use a high-protein bait such as peanut butter or hazelnut spread.
  3. Hold Securely - Pull back the kill bar and hold it securely with your thumb.
  4. Set the Trap - Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.

Location

Location, Location, Location

Set the baited trap in areas where you have noticed high levels of rodent activity. Rodents tend to travel along walls, so placement in this location often works best. For maximum effectiveness, use multiple traps, placed at 2 to 3 foot intervals to increase results. Place the trap with the baited end flush against the wall.

Quick & Effective

Once a rodent triggers the pedal, the Wide Pedal Mouse Trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. After a catch, simply lift the kill bar to dispose of the mouse and reuse the trap or, dispose of the entire trap for quick, clean removal. It’s your decision!

Five Stars

"BEST TRAP ON THE MARKET! I purchased the easy set traps because of the tension adjustment (either hard or soft) I have tried other traps and even using a side-by-side comparison, the Victor traps captured the rodent every time. Victor is the only trap I'll buy from now on. It works, it's durable and easy to set!"

Mouse Trap Instructions
  1. Release the arm bar from the staple.
  2. Move the arm bar to the back of the trap so it hangs over the back of the trap.
  3. Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread or bacon to the yellow plastic pedal on the trap as shown. Use a Q-tip, toothpick or another tool to bait to avoid transferring your scent to the trap.
  4. Pull the kill bar back and hold it in place with your thumb.
  5. Place the arm bar over the kill bar and secure it under the plastic pedal. Take note of the Firm and Sensitive setting. The trap will be easier to set on the firm side, but not trip as easy. The trap will be more difficult to set on the sensitive side, but trip very easily.
  6. Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.
  7. After the mouse is caught, properly dispose of the dead rodent. The trap can either be discarded or reused.

The best snap trap!

The best snap trap! Use them dry with no bait- set them with the yellow paddle next to the wall where the mice travel. Or push peanut butter into the holes in the yellow paddle. The mice put more pressure on the paddle to dig out the pb and whammy. I often get 2 mice per trap.

The mice eat the bait completely off and the trap doesn't trip. Takes a little too much force to trip them. The old ones with the metal trip worked so much better that these

Won't stay set.

I have caught dozens of mice over the last 20 years with this design of Victor mousetraps, but something has changed with the latest bunch of mousetraps that I bought. I cannot get the trap set. Doesn't matter if it is Firm or Sensitive, the bar will not stay under the pedal. The ones I bought have a pedal that looks like cheese (like it always has) but I see from the picture above that there is a new pedal with a "V" shape. Maybe they've fixed this problem with a redesign?

Bad design

Terrible design. They are extremely difficult to set and usually snap when you try to release your hands. Takes me about 20 plus tries to get one to set. I also don’t consider them safe at all for this reason. I wear thick leather gloves when I attempt to set them so I don’t destroy my hands. They do eliminate the mice if you can set them.

We are sorry to hear about your experience with these traps! To set them, hold the trap vertically and make sure the yellow pedal is at about a 20 or 30 degree angle from the base, then set the trap by hooking the metal bar under the lip of the yellow pedal. Please feel free to contact us at 855-584-2867 for further assistance. We're happy to help you get the most of your purchase!
Bought a pack of four ...

Bought a pack of four and had to throw away three of them because they broke while trying to be set. I spent way too much time trying to set the trap just for it to go off as I put it down. Not a fan of this design.

These things work great.

These things work great. I use them outside my house, without any bait. I just set them with the pedal facing the foundation and the mice try to jump over them, and lots of them don't quite make it. I have also used them in my workshop, with a little peanut butter. I've been meaning to try hot gluing some dry dog or cat food to the pedal, just to see how that works. It should work on the regular snap traps as well. Happy hunting!

Could not get the plastic pedal to set after many many tries and finger snaps. The old style ones work great. On some the bar does not even reach the pedal, on the ones it does, it won't catch. Do Not Buy! What a waste of money.
