Victor® Catch & Hold Mice Trap - 4 Traps
This 4-trap offer of the Victor® Catch & Hold Mice Trap can handle your mouse-catching needs. Designed for indoor or outdoor use, each trap can lure and contain up to four mice before it needs to be emptied for further use. These live traps contain no poisons or snapping parts, making them ideal for use at your home or business where they may be set near water, food, children or pets.
Simple 3-Step Method
- Bait – Put a little bit of peanut butter inside.
- Place – Set the trap down wherever your mice are known to travel.
- Release – When full, follow your local authority’s guidelines for the release of captured animals back into the wild. The emptied traps may then be reused as many times as needed till you no longer have a problem.
Combine for Greater Capacity and Improved Effectiveness
Enhance the efficiency of these traps by using all 4 to improve the odds of eliminating your mouse problem in less time. With 4 traps that can each hold 4 mice, you can catch up to 16 mice at a time before having to reset them!
Convenient Indoor and Outdoor Design
Used inside your home or business, this trap will catch the rodents that have already made their way inside. But if you are able to determine where they may have gained access from, placing one outdoors will help keep more from entering until you can effectively block the point of entry.
No-Touch, Non-Lethal Rodent Solution
Does a dead mouse make you squeamish? With the Catch & Hold mice trap you do not have to kill, or even touch, the captive critters, which may be returned to the wild once the trap is full. Follow local guidelines and only release them in areas where it is allowed.

Review RateActual trap different than pictured trap on packaging
The trap we bought has packaging just like shown, but is different inside, with a short solid metal door insteal of the long perforated one shown on the cover. The door lies down on the floor and I can’t see how it closes, but that may be connected to the small metal dowel that fell out of the trap when we took the lid off. Will try it anyway, but as of now, it seems as if mouse can walk in, eat, then walk out.Response From Victor®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateZERO instructions regarding what appears to be an important feature of this product.
Very disappointed with the instructions for this live trap. There is a metal "flap" in front of the "tetter-totter" mechanism but no -- I mean ZERO -- instruction about how to position the flap. If it is pushed downward onto the tetter-totter it impedes the function of the tetter-totter. If it is positioned upright, mice cannot enter the trap. Somewhere in between? HOW WOULD I KNOW? The online video that you provide doesn't even mention the flap!! If this is a modification to the original design, why haven't you invested in updating the instructions on the packaging, the (hard to read) instructions on the trap itself or in your online video?!?Response From Victor®Kathryn : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateGreat trap
Used peanut butter, worked within hours.
Review RateWorked first try!
Worked perfectly! Set it up before bed and caught the mouse the first try. I just feel better knowing I didn't have to kill anything (or deal with a dead body) just not my thing. Thank you for having this option available! My only criticism would be that it's a little nerve wracking trying to slide the thing open to let the mouse out when you release, maybe some tweaking of that could make this an even better product. Did what I needed it to do and I feel good :)
Review RateThey don't work!
worthless. I haven't purchased the Tin Cat, but no small plastic trap has ever, ever worked for me, and I have read a lot about where to place trapes, how and with what to bait them. Don't waste your money on these or ultrasonic repellents. I doubt this review will be published. If it is, you can trust this site for honesty. The snap traps seem to be most effective and provide a quick humane kill. Large mul;ti-mouse trappers can woprk well the first night or two, then are often avoided ever after. A few times per month they accidentally kill a mouse, and not in a quick or kind way, so check them often.Response From Victor®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateEmpty trap promptly
The traps work but they are a little flimsy. If the mice are in there too long, they will chew their way out. I read reviews online before I purchased and followed these suggestions: check trap every 24 hours and remove captured mice promptly; use duct tape to ensure lid stays on the trap before setting.
Review RateWorked perfectly
I haven't had any mice escape. The plastic is strong and as long as the pieces are on track (same as the crisper drawer in your refrigerator, for example) then it stays shut no problem. I've caught 6 total now, sometimes two at once, though I really don't see how 4 mice could fit. Probably three tops. CHECK IT OFTEN, SET A REMINDER ALARM IF NEEDED. They will be terrified, thirsty and hungry. I let them out of the trap into a secure bucket with plastic over it if I can't go release them immediately. If you plan on buying this trap and then just throwing the whole thing into the garbage without releasing the mouse... SHAME ON YOU. It will die an awful, slow death. Just buy a kill trap instead! Put the poor thing out of it's misery! This is a humane trap for a reason - it is not meant to be a torture device. Catch and RELEASE.
I set up a couple of these, baited them with peanut butter, and in less than 12 hours had caught a mouse. And the mouse chewed its way out of the trap and escaped! How useless is a live trap made of material so flimsy the trapped animal can chew it up and get out? We'll be returning these two traps and would never never buy another.Response From Victor®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Review RateOkay for a few uses
I have experienced some of the same problems as other users. The lid doesn't always latch tight and I had to add a piece of tape to secure it. Victor claims it can trap several mice at a time, so after the first mouse was caught, I decided to wait and see if another would join him. My first trapped mouse warned off another with quite a bit of racket, so that didn't help. I eventually caught 4 individual mice before they figured out how to get in and out at will. I think they may have loosened the metal flap or spring just enough to crawl through.Response From Victor®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We recommend checking the trap frequently. A mouse needs to eat several times per day, so it is important that the mouse is released shortly after it is trapped.

Review RateTrap works great.
I had a house mouse lurking in my apartment. I bought one of these traps and baited it with bird seed and peanut butter. In 3 days the mouse was caught and Intranslocated it a fair distance away. Very happy with the design of the device.
Victor® Live Traps - Expert Tips
Location, Location, Location!
The most important rule for the effective use of traps is good trap placement location based on thorough inspections to determine the high-activity areas of rodents.
Number of Traps
The most common trapping mistake is using of too few traps. For only a couple of mice, a dozen traps are not too many. For severe mouse infestations, traps should be placed close together in double sets in areas of high activity.
Importance of the First Night
Statistics show that more mice are trapped on the first night than on any other night.
Offer Multiple Bait Choices
When many rodents are involved, different types of baits should be used. Individuals in a rodent population forage for different types of food.
Victor® Glue Traps - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many of mice are born at once? How do I know that I've trapped them all?
A: It’s practically impossible to tell when you've trapped them all. You should continue to trap as long as you see mice or notice signs of activity. The most apparent sign of an infestation is fresh droppings.
Q: What is the most common mistake in trapping?
A: The true number of rodents present is underestimated. As a result, not enough traps are used. Although you have killed a few rodents, the remainder of the population continues to multiply.
