Victor® Catch & Hold™ Humane Outdoor and Indoor Mouse Trap

Humanely capturing mice is a preferred option for many, and this Victor® Catch & Hold™ Humane Outdoor and Indoor Mouse Trap lets homeowners effectively capture mice without chemicals. Often, one mouse that you see means many mice you don't see, and a mouse infestation in your home or office isn't just a nuisance. Capturing and releasing mice somewhere they can't cause troublesome infestations is simple with Victor® traps.

Poisons and Snapping Parts

Free of Poisons and Snapping Parts

This Catch & Hold™ Mouse Trap uses natural baits to allow live capture and release of pest animals. These traps are also free from snapping parts like conventional mousetraps, ensuring small fingers or curious pets aren't injured by mistake. The fully sealed design means you never have to touch the mice. When it's time to release, simply open the secured lid and let the mice out.

Simple to Use

The Victor® Catch & Hold™ Humane Outdoor and Indoor Mouse Trap is designed to be simple for homeowners to use, without ever having to touch a mouse. Simply bait the trap with peanut butter, and place where you know mice travel. Once the trap is full — it holds up to four rodents — follow the guidelines of your municipality to release them back into the wild, away from other neighborhoods. These traps may be used over and over until your mouse problem is solved.

Trapping Tips

Trapping Tips

It's important to use the right number of traps. While you may only see a few animals, mice are fast and used to hiding. Studies show that more mice are captured the first night that traps are set, and choosing too few traps may mean the mice that remain are wary. Ridding your home or business from these pests can potentially take longer if not enough traps are set.

"Caught my little guest the first night I set it out. Released the little one back into the wild. Simple set up, easy cleaning and reusable. Highly recommended!"

We are sorry to hear that happened! When using a live trap to relocate mice it is very important to monitor your trap frequently. Mice need to eat several times a day. They can also quickly become frightened and anxious when trapped and will go to great lengths to escape. To ensure a successful release, keep your eye out for a catch and relocate it as soon as possible.
Great trap, until they chewed through it.

First trap we've had success with the mouse actually getting in. Previous catches were successfully released. But this guy got smart, chewed a hole, and actually got stuck trying to get out of it. The see-saw mechanism is brilliant (works better than the tin cat mechanism) but making the rest of the trap out of plastic was not a good decision. Please, for the love of all that is holy, make more of these traps but out of a better material like metal! Or use the see-saw mechanism in the tin cat trap.

Worked well at actually getting them in the trap. Was able to catch and release one yesterday without incident. But a different fella chewed his way through here and got stuck. I tried to get him out into a bucket (should have just taken him outside) but he got stuck in his own hole. Tried to help him out and he used the opportunity to escape. The see-saw trapping mechanism is amazing! For the love of all that is holy, can you make the rest of the trap metal to prevent chewing through?

I ended up returning it before I even used it as the top was very difficult to slide back and forth and I didn't want to be fighting with the top when mice are in it and I am trying to release them. I would suggest an easier slide top or a latched top to make for easy release, I'd pay more for a better quality product.

Please, please, Victor, make the lids _clear_, for those of us who are tenderhearted!!!!!! I bought live traps because I wanted to be able to release the mice I caught, 2 miles from my home, as instructed. I checked this trap frequently after I set it. I even looked with the bright light from my phone, but I did not perceive, because the lid is smoke-colored, that there was a mouse caught there. That poor little mouse died in terror, and its own urine and poo, because it had hidden underneath the ramp, and I could not see it through the smoke-colored lid. I didn't want to kill the mouse. I wanted to release it!!! This was FAR from humane!!!????

Rodents will chew the plastic and escape

This trap definitely works! were it not for the problem with the captured rodent chewing the plastic tab that obstructs its access to the metal flap. Once that tab is gone the rodent can easily get in and out of this trap at will. Other reviewers are mentioning this going back ten years. Surprised the product has not been improved since then.

The trap worked very well for quite a few mice. One thing I noted is that you have to have the cover on correctly otherwise they escape. We did have one very clever and persistent critter that gnawed it’s way out but I bought a new trap and felt with that bigger. All in all the trap works very well and I’m glad that I didn’t have to kill them.

The trap worked perfectly for many months and I was able to capture several mice with the exception of one that gnawed through the box.

Mice escaped! Disappointed!

The first night with three traps we caught and released 1 mouse > 2 miles away.. The second night there were none, and the third night there were none, but there were more mouse droppings in the kitchen. I checked the traps and the peanut butter bait was gone with more mouse droppings in the traps. They had dined and escaped. Is the entry "door" supposed to "lock" in the up position when the enter? It's not. I am not using them until I know if they are defective or I have closed them incoreeclty.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. The entrance of the trap does not lock. It uses a see-saw mechanism to prevent them from being able to exit the trap. We appreciate this feedback and have shared these concerns with our Product Managers. The traps are covered under a one year replacement policy. Reach out to us at 1-855-584-2867 for assistance.
