Sweeney’s® Solar Powered mole and gopher repeller offers a poison-free way to drive away moles, gophers. Every 30 seconds, sonic pulses penetrate the soil, emitting a penetrating sound which is irritating to moles and gophers who are virtually blind and extremely sensitive to sound and vibrations. This method encourages moles to leave the property, and the solar operated spike continues to discourage return visits.
No batteries are required to operate the waterproof solar spike; one solar charge will last up to 5 days. The spike is built with a mow-over design and safe to use around pets. Allow 7-14 days before moles and gophers start to move away from the area.

I built my home in May 2016. Every morning I was dealing with new mole tunnels. Became a daily ritual of stomping them all back down. Out of desperation I was willing to try anything. I went to the internet and began searching. I came across these spikes. For $45 it was worth trying in my opinion. They arrived within a day. I layer them in the sun for a day before installing them. They have been in he ground for about two weeks. I have not had any new tunnels since installing the spikes. Seems to be working.Date published: 2016-11-01Rated 1 out of 5 by Unhappy from Does not work Bought these a month ago, vey bad purchase as they do not work!Date published: 2016-10-26Rated 1 out of 5 by anonymous from Batteries? The unit S9014 should have accessability to batteries. Especially if it is overcast for most of the month as would occur in winter in the upper mid west. The ability to recharge the Ni-MH batteries is a most.. Would like a refund.Date published: 2016-10-18Rated 1 out of 5 by Christian from Do not repel moles Wanted to give these the full recommended time before review. After two weeks of function mole activity has not decreased and continues even as close as 18" from spikes. They are audibly toning so function is not the issue. They are properly installed in the ground per instructions and hard clay soil is supposed to be MORE sound conductive according to documentation. No effect on moles.Date published: 2016-08-12Rated 1 out of 5 by baileykat from not so great Got it for moles. They love it. Built a tunnel fight next to it.Date published: 2016-08-09Rated 1 out of 5 by Kim S from Don't waste your money We had agressive gophers in our lawn, and these spikes did absolutely nothing. In fact, shortly after installing them, we found that the GOPHERS had obviously made attempts at uprooting the spike!Date published: 2016-07-31Rated 4 out of 5 by Andie from Mole spikes, solar I installed one spike (small yard) a week ago. Have not seen any new evidence of moles. It seems to be working. I like the solar spikes because D batteries are expensive and annoying to have to replace. Solar energy is FREE!Date published: 2016-07-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobws56 from Patience pays off - they're gone Not sure what critter(s) we had, but these stakes seem to have worked. My rodent friends may have been prairie dogs (we live in the SF Bay Area). It has been about two weeks since I placed two stakes in my yard and I have not seen any evidence of the critters in the last four days. Prior to this, the drain covers in our lawn drainage system were popped off nearly every night. The system provided a ready-made burrow and tunnel system for the little guys. There were areas in the yard that were dug up where the rodents were digging for grubs. My 3-pronged attack included two sonic stakes, repellent and traps. I placed spring traps in the drain holes, but to no avail. I also spread gopher and mole repellent on the lawn to discourage the pests. I do believe this helped. I was losing patience with the sonic stakes and was going to resort to poisoned bait. Fortunately, the stakes seemed to have worked. It did take a full two weeks. The drain covers have stayed in place and there has been no damage in the yard for five days now. Success!!Date published: 2016-07-18
