Have not seen any new evidence of moles. It seems to be working. I like the solar spikes because D batteries are expensive and annoying to have to replace. Solar energy is FREE!Date published: 2016-07-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobws56 from Patience pays off - they're gone Not sure what critter(s) we had, but these stakes seem to have worked. My rodent friends may have been prairie dogs (we live in the SF Bay Area). It has been about two weeks since I placed two stakes in my yard and I have not seen any evidence of the critters in the last four days. Prior to this, the drain covers in our lawn drainage system were popped off nearly every night. The system provided a ready-made burrow and tunnel system for the little guys. There were areas in the yard that were dug up where the rodents were digging for grubs. My 3-pronged attack included two sonic stakes, repellent and traps. I placed spring traps in the drain holes, but to no avail. I also spread gopher and mole repellent on the lawn to discourage the pests. I do believe this helped. I was losing patience with the sonic stakes and was going to resort to poisoned bait. Fortunately, the stakes seemed to have worked. It did take a full two weeks. The drain covers have stayed in place and there has been no damage in the yard for five days now. Success!!Date published: 2016-07-18Rated 5 out of 5 by slh25 from Good Riddance! These stupid gophers were ruining everything in my yard. I had already tried many things to get rid of them so when I saw these solar spikes I thought, why not? Well they work great. I don't know where the gophers went but I am glad they are gone.Date published: 2016-06-15Rated 5 out of 5 by VOLE HATER from Great Product Bought these 2 weeks ago. VERY effective in keeping Voles out of our yard. :) Highly recommended!!Date published: 2016-05-27Rated 4 out of 5 by Mel28 from Seems to be working! We've only been using the spikes for a about 2 weeks, but so far (and I know this sounds awful) we've had 4 gophers commit suicide in our pool! We've never had a gopher in the pool before, so I can only assume that it's the spikes. Anyway, sure seems to be working good. I'm giving it 4 stars because we've only used it for a couple of weeks.Date published: 2016-03-15Rated 5 out of 5 by LondonEye from Great product! We tried all kinds of products before I found Sweeney's Mole and Gopher Solar Powered Sonic Spike. Upon installing the spike, we received almost instant results. I saw a gopher in my back yard the night before we purchased the spike. The next morning, i inserted the spike and we have not seen any more pests. Thank you for carrying this product. I have told all my friend about this wonder product.Date published: 2015-07-11Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from don't waste your money Moles have come within 8" of units and make return trips. It has been over 3 weeks use now. Moles are not in least bit bothered by "sonic" sound. Use your money for another method.Date published: 2015-04-24Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from They're Gone Critters arrived about three months ago and were very quickly destroying my 1/2 acre yard. Neighbors had tried a variety of traps in their yards with little success so my offer was to try the Sonic Spike. I was somewhat hesitant. But three days after installing the two spikes my moles had all but vanished. The sound which is slightly audible must really irritate them because I found one crawling on top of the ground. Question is where do they go?Date published: 2014-11-24

Why does it keep beeping? Does it stop when it's dark?Every 30 seconds, sonic pulses penetrate the soil, emitting a penetrating sound which is irritating to moles and gophers who are virtually blind and extremely sensitive to sound and vibrations. One charge lasts up to 5 days, meaning that the spike will continue to work overnight.Date published: 2016-10-12

- All About
Moles are helpful in that they remove damaging insects and grubs from lawns and gardens. Unfortunately, however, their burrowing habits can destroy grass, gardens and flower beds and tear up tree roots.
Gophers excavate soil from their tunnels, creating large, horseshoe-shaped mounds. Gopher mounds are typically larger than Mole hills with the entrance hole at an angle to the ground surface.
