Mole and Gopher Repellent

Stop lawn damage fast with the #1 selling mole and gopher bait. Sweeney's® Poison-Peanuts act as bait to attract moles and gophers. When ingested, the poison peanuts quickly kill the moles and gophers. The cleverly designed canister features a cone tip that allows users to punch holes in active tunnel surfaces for easy application of the pellets.

Application Tips to Help Win the War on Moles

Prior to treatment, determine which burrows are active by either pressing down a small section of the tunnel or removing a one inch section of the tunnel’s roof. Mark these sections and re-check in 24 to 48 hours. The burrow is considered active if the flattened runway has been raised up or if the roof has been repaired. Only treat active burrows.

After identifying active burrows, carefully punch a hole in the top of active tunnels with pointed end of cone, drop in a teaspoonful of the pellets, and carefully close the hole with sod or stone. Do not collapse the runway again or allow loose soil to cover the bait. After a few days, check the burrows to see if they are still active. If so, repeat treatment.

Post-Battle:

Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of dead, exposed animals. Dispose of leftover bait in accordance with disposal instructions on package.

Didn't work in NC-moles didn't eat it at all. It brought more moles from across the street to visit my yard.

Thank you for sharing this experience. We apologize that the desired results were not seen when using this product. When placing the moleworms, it is important to ensure that they are located in active tunnels or runs. Also, the moleworm should not be covered by dirt as the mole may ignore it when passing through or repairing a tunnel.

We would like to learn more about this occurrence and take this opportunity to make things right. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for additional assistance.

This stuff doesn\'t work By PokeySue
This stuff didn't work. I have bought and applied 3 bottles of it. Still have active tunnels. The vermin don't seem to eat it. Instead, they kick it out of the tunnel before repairing the roof line. I've had better luck with mouse "snap traps". At least with them I have caught 3 vermin before the pack decided they won't be fooled by my peanut butter bait.

Hello Sue,

Thank you for sharing this experience. This bait is designed to be very palatable to both moles and gophers. After applying, we recommend checking active tunnels again for activity. If moles or gophers are still present, we recommend reapplying.

We apologize for this experience and would like to offer additional assistance. Please feel free to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-800-800-1819 x 458 with any questions.

Works Wonders By Gin1950
I purchased this product about three weeks ago and used it in ALL of the active mole and gopher runs and it seems to have worked!!! I have not seen any new runs so here's hoping that this is going to help me keep ahead of this MAJOR problem I was facing...my entire back and front yard was covered in mounds and runs!!! I WILL be ordering more of this product in the VERY near future!!!!

Follow the instructions about how to find an active mole tunnel. I put about 5 pellets in each hole and cover it lightly so birds don’t get at the poison. I have used these for years when I have a mole problem.

I've been using this product in tandem with Sweeney's Mole and Gopher Solar Spike S9014, and between them I've been seeing very little indication that chipmunks remain. When they reopen a hole, I pour in some pellets, and repeat as long as they disappear. When they remain, I figure there's nobody home to eat them.

I have read the reviews that state that moles will not eat a grain based food. However, after having a mole run in my yard for about a year, he seems to be gone/dead after using this product. The run is no longer visible and I have not seen any new ones! I had previously tried traps (sprung many times, but no dead mole), due to heavy clay soil.I rate the product 4 stars because I am not sure that this product is what solved my problem, but then again I couldn't guess what else would have, since I wasn't using anything else at the same time.It is cheap, I think it works, so why not try it.

Have mixed feelings about using poison, but moles tend to do us in. Try to be careful and put in run and cover so no other animal is tempted. Believe no problem there. Have the current theory that the first time I see a new mole run, if I put some bait in the new run right then, tends to help. In research and talking with others, seems that no matter what done, one mole will be followed by another, so endless struggle. Have the current impression that doctoring a new run is the best result. Feel we all need to remember it is poison and be careful in use. Tried traps and everything else I could find before returning to this product.

learn about mole and mole trap

Moles

Moles are helpful in that they remove damaging insects and grubs from lawns and gardens. Unfortunately, however, their burrowing habits can destroy grass, gardens and flower beds and tear up tree roots.

Gophers

learn about gopher and gopher trap

Gophers excavate soil from their tunnels, creating large, horseshoe-shaped mounds.  Gopher mounds are typically larger than Mole hills with the entrance hole at an angle to the ground surface.
