The latest innovation in rat traps, the Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap is set and released with one simple “click”. This one-step open and close mechanism also makes it easy to cleanly dispose of the rodent with no hand contact.
The rat killer trap was designed with a large trough for easy baiting with any of their favorite foods. The Power Kill’s oversized pedal is easily activated – both by rodent interest in food AND through accidental contact as rats scamper across the floor – to ensure maximum trapping quickly. Once a rodent triggers the pedal, the powerful jaw immediately springs closed for a quick, humane kill on contact.
The clean-trapping Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap delivers effective and immediate rat control - even in hard to reach places. Each powerful rat trap features two holes on the back for attachment to pipes, beams and other hard-to-access places where rats thrive.
Made of highly durable plastic, each rat trap of this twin pack is safe for use around food, water, animals and children and can be reused multiple times to maximize rat control. Victor® Power Kill Rat Traps are the perfect for use anywhere in the home. These rat killing traps should be placed where rodents travel, such as along walls at 2 to 3 foot intervals.

simply the best designed and built trap ever.it is so fast nothing gets away and it kills instantly no suffering. the design is so good you never touch the pest, simply use the set bar to pick up the trap and then discharge pest over trash. no pest has ever stolen the bait, twice as fast as std traps. safe setting, you never get fingers near the snap bar. I have used the same bait on many catches. great for mice, rate flying squirrels.

A shame I can't post photos. I tried glue traps and poions. The little buggers are super rats. I have a picture of glue traps taped down with duck tape 1/2 way ate by the rat. Last night I set up 2 of these in the kitchen and this morning was greeted by oh moust auspicious sight. VERY DEAD RAT on the floor. Aha. Thanks Victor. I say VICTORY. This trap works graet on Chipmunks. Fill the bait holder with sunflower seeds and bye bye chipmunk.
Easy to Use - Didn't Creep Me Out - It Works!October 24, 2009
I heard scratching in my attic early this morning. "Say it isn't so!", I thought to myself. Afraid of what I'd find, I ventured up into the attic and there they were...rat droppings and gnawed particle board. After lots of research, I drove an hour to get this rat trap because it received good reviews. But I still dreaded having to remove a dead rat by myself...yes, I'm a woman. Anyway, I bought 4 of these inexpensive little gems, put them in my attic, baited them with peanut butter, and in 20 minutes, I caught my rat! Disposing of the rat wasn't bad at all - much better than I expected. All that worry for nothing. This trap did the job quickly, effectively, inexpensively, and made killing a rat easier to deal with than I ever imagined. I highly recommend this trap!
Best Trap Ever!March 16, 2009
See the rat. Buy this trap. Set the trap. Hear the snap. Dump the rat. IT IS THAT SIMPLE.

This is the best trap I have ever used. Within 12 hours of setting 2 traps, both had successfully triggered. Both kills were instant and humane as possible. Setting and clearing of this trap is very easy and safe. Highly recommended for all.
Throw your old traps away...this one is better.January 08, 2009

I've had great luck with this trap. It has a great design. It is easy to set without getting your fingers snapped. And it is hard for the rat to get the bait without getting snapped. The design also has holes in the corners to allow you to physically secure the trap. (I usually screw it down so I can find it after it has triggered.)
The best... but what do I do now?August 03, 2013
I live outside a major city known for it's rat problems. I was using your average wooden base snap traps and 9 times out of 10 the rats were eating the bait without tripping the traps. One night a rat was merely stunned and injured by these traps and I had to finish the job with a shovel, not pretty. I bought 3 Power Kill Traps and had immediate success, averaging 2 rats a night but know I've encountered the same issue. The traps aren't killing some of the rats, they're just snaring them. I've had to release 2 rats now because they weren't badly injured, just caught. The rats are in fact larger than some of the others but it's happened even with a smaller rat too. Any suggestions Victor? Your traps have performed beautifully till now and I'd like to continue using them with the success rate I've had. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST AUGUST 05, 2013 Thank you for your review! We are glad to hear how well the Victor® Power Kill Rat Traps (model M144) have worked for you! With these traps, we recommend using a very small amount of bait, just the amount that would fit on the end of a toothpick. This forces the rodent to have to work harder for the bait and positions them for a quick and humane kill. We hope this information has been helpful. First use great... subsequent uses, not so much...August 18, 2012
I bought a dozen of these traps and set them up. The trigger plates were extremely sensitive and I caught 6 rats the first night. Upon subsequent sets, the trigger plates all became very unsensitive, often being able to be pushed entirely down without going off. After cleaning the traps and ensuring no dust or grit in the works, the traps are still not sensitive enough to trigger reliably. Very disappointed considering the higher cost over conventional traps. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST AUGUST 20, 2012 Dear Rob, Thank you for your feedback regarding the Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap. Not dead yet...April 23, 2010
I set this trap in my attic and the poor rat has been banging the trap around upstairs for eight hours now. I can see his ear is stuck in it and maybe part of his face. I can't get him out of the attic until he finally dies.
Rats.... Victor missed, twice.May 13, 2013
I've had rats in our compost bin for the last two years. We never dump food in it, only old grass clippings and weeds. I bought a Super Snap Trap and baited the bugger with peanut butter and held it in place with two large spikes. Checked it over the weekend and it was tripped and licked clean, but no rat. Rebaited it and smeared PB all over the pad hoping the rats would really have to put some weight on it to get to the PB in the holes. Came home today and the sucker is once again tripped and licked clean. What is the secret? Not too thrilled with the product at present. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST MAY 17, 2013 Dear Jim, Thank you for your online review of the Victor® Power Kill Rat (model M144). We are sorry to hear that you have not yet seen the desired results with this trap. We recommend using just a small pea-sized amount of peanut butter with this trap. Using more than this amount can adversely affect the sensitivity of the trap, or allow the rat to grab the bait and run. We hope this information has been helpful. If you have any other questions, please to not hesitate to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867). The reason for the failuresNovember 12, 2012
This trap has gotten mediocre review and it's justified. It was designed (?) to catch full size, grown rats. There are younger, less heavy rats too whose wight is not enough to engage the trigger. The "Metal Pedal" is the real deal. It's so sensitive that it can catch a baby rat too and it did with the Metal Pedal type. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST NOVEMBER 12, 2012 Dear Thomas, Thank you for taking the time to submit an online review for the Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap (model M144). We are sorry to hear that the traps did not work well for you. With this trap, we recommend using a small pea sized amount of peanut butter. Any more than this can affect the sensitivity of the trap. We hope this information helps. Above all, we would like to ensure that you are satisfied with your purchase. Still Waiting For First RatSeptember 27, 2012
Set out three traps first night. Two were sprung in morning. After that, no bites. I think the rats identifiy with the noise first experienced and do not take the bait. Trying different baits now but, still haven't caught first rat. Traps are placed where rats have been seen, in and around house outside foundation, under bushes, baited with peanut butter. Still waiting for first rat in trap. Traps now sitting idly.Guess our rats are to smart? I'm impressed with the traps but, don't know why I'm not getting my first rat RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST SEPTEMBER 28, 2012 Thank you for reviewing Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap (model M144). We are sorry to hear that you have yet to trap your first rat. To prevent rats from being able to access your bait and not be caught tie your bait to the trigger. If you are using a bait that cannot be tied (like peanut butter), be sure to use a small pea size amount. You want to force the rodent to work hard at taking the bait from the trigger to ensure a successful catch. Also some rats are neophobic, or “extra cautious” of new objects that suddenly appear in their environment. It is normal for the rat to take a few days to trust the trap. Try leaving an unset rat trap out for a few days before setting it with bait. This will give the rat a chance to become accustomed to it in order to be caught. We hope you found these tips helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) if you have questions or need assistance. Best regards,LizConsumer Relations RepresentativeWoodstream Corporation
worked ounceMay 03, 2012
Bought 2 of these worked good the first use. Go to use them both again and the trigger plate doesn't work, just lays there wont come up. Then when it did pop up after about 10 times of trying on both of them to set it and thought it was set , the rat made of with its belly a little fuller !!! very disappointing RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST MAY 17, 2012 Dear Lars, Thank you for your review, we appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience. how do you set it?November 02, 2010
The instructions consist of about four words and the diagram of the trap doesn't really help either. I thought that the website would give instructions, but it doesn't. I don't want to lose a finger. poor resultsMay 16, 2011
I found these traps to be very unreliable. Bait cleaned off the trigger with no catch or trap fired without a catch. Very frusterating. I'd trade them for the wood traps with the yellow trigger in a second. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST MAY 18, 2011 Thank you for taking the time to submit an online review for the Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap. We are sorry to hear you had difficulty with your trap. When you find bait has disappeared from your trap without setting it off it is possible that either insects or juvenile rodents may have actually eaten it. Their light weight would not trigger the Power Kill Rat Trap. To help prevent this to try different types of bait or even use water in the baiting well. Rodents are also attracted to nesting supplies; try tying a piece of thread to the pedal. We would like the opportunity to discuss this matter to you in detail. Please contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-800-800-1819, opt 1 so we may better assist you. Best regards,LizConsumer Relations RepresentativeWoodstream Corporation
The Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap is extremely easy to bait. An instruction sheet and video are available that will give detailed step-by-step instructions on how to bait the Victor® Power Kill Rat Trap.
Individuals in a rodent population search for different types of food. For rats, anything like peanut butter, dry dog food, nuts, fruit or bacon is a great option. Try to use whatever bait the rodents are currently feeding on, but feel free to provide alternative choices as well.
