Victor® Rodenticides - How They Work
The Victor® Rodenticides are a highly effective method of controlling rats and mice. Victor® Rodenticides come in two different presentations to repel rodents:
Pellets- Pellet baits are provide the rodent with a small food particle it can readily pick up and handle — similar to a rodent holding a seed or a nut. Pellets are also packaged into “place packs”, which deliver baits into hard-to-reach locations in small, sealed in paper packets. Bait packets keep rodenticides fresh and facilitate convenient, quick, “no-touch” placement of bait.
2. Blocks - Blocks bait formulations offer versatility and convenience for rodent infestations in any location since they can be used indoor and outdoors. Block baits are made in the form of extruded blocks — similar to the method that is used for making dry dog foods. The blocks are extruded in a unique shape designed to provide an attractive gnawing item for rodents.
The most important rule for the effective use of rodenticide is good bait placement location based on thorough inspections to determine the high-activity areas of rodents. Thus, thorough inspections to determine the numbers and placements of bait are critical.
Pest Management Professionals know that the key to successful baiting is to alternate among different rodenticide actives. Also known as “Bait Rotation”, this technique requires that different active ingredients can be used to:
Q:How many pellets of the second-generation anticoagulants does it take to kill a rodent?
A: Usually only a few pellets will kill a mouse. For rats, usually 6-30 pellets are required. Both rats and mice will continue to feed for several days until they succumb to the effects of the poisons. more»
Q:Will rodents leave the building to die? A: Poisoned rodents may die anywhere, including in some very inconvenient areas. There is no evidence the rodents exit buildings “seeking water” and die outside. Most times, poisoned rodents succumb in their nests. more»
Q:What should I do it my pet eats mouse or rat poison? A: Call the poison control number located on the package immediately for more information. This information is required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be on all rodent bait packages. more»
