Unlike traditional snap traps, the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap uses a high-voltage, quick and humane shock that kills the mouse in seconds. The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is as efficient as it is effective, killing one mouse per setting and 100 mice per set of 4 “AA” batteries (not included). This trap offers a 100% kill rate – meaning there are no escapes and you can rid yourself of a small rodent problem in one single night.
How It Works
The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is equipped with advanced smart circuit technology that senses when a rodent enters the covered mouse trap. Once the rodent is inside, the patented tunnel design and beveled columns hold the mouse in place and prevent any escapes. The mouse steps onto the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a quick, humane shock. Each time the trap catches a mouse, the light on top of the trap flashes green for up to seven days to indicate a kill. To dispose of the mouse, just flip the lid open and dump the mouse directly into the trash for a hygienic and safe, no-touch, no-see disposal. The trap can either be reset or discarded. To reset, bait, place and turn the trap on for continued rodent control.
The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is easy to use. Simply insert batteries, bait, place, turn the trap on and empty! Open the battery compartment and insert 4 “AA” batteries. To bait, open the lid on top of the trap and place a small amount of peanut butter, chocolate, hazelnut spread or any of their favorite foods along the back wall of the trap in the bait trough provided. Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The trap should be placed lengthwise against the wall with the entrance hole nearest the wall. Turn on the trap. A green light will blink once showing the trap is working properly.
The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap features a built-in safety switch that automatically deactivates the trap whenever the kill chamber door is opened. The trap has no poisons or chemicals and is safe to use anywhere in the home. The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is extremely economical and can be used for years to ensure effective mouse control.
In the past two hours that I have placed this trap, I've had two kills, it's working great and I'm looking forward to buying the professional model.

The BEST mouse trap ever made!!!July 17, 2013
Because I live in a row home, I've had problems with mice. Well, let me just add I keep a VERY clean house. No matter how much I cleaned, mice were still present. I tried EVERYTHING!!! And I do mean everything, plus I wasted a lot of money on other traps. I even saw a mouse jump over one of those stupid flat glue traps! Yes, you heard me...JUMPED OVER!!! Anyway, I decided to invest in these electric traps, and let me just say, I am soooo happy I did! This is the best trap ever made. I purchased two of them. I placed one in my kitchen and one in my breakfast room. Typically, where is would see mice. First, they began catching mice within about 2 hours from my husband setting them. I said, "honey, did you hear that zap?" And yup there was the green light!!! I was like YEEESSSS! Second, because I am deathly afraid of mice and hate to even see them, these were the best thing. NO see, NO fuss, NO mess, and most of all NO annoying squeaking sound after they are caught. Green light, empty, then set again. Just as simple as that! I hate to say it because this will sound like we are not clean, BUT we have caught about 15 mice so far. I know, I know, but I would rather catch them than have them running around my house. Dig this, I asked my neighbor if they saw any mice lately. They said NO. And I'm thinking of course not because I'm catching them all!!! :) So, the bottom line is...GET RID OF ALL THOSE OTHER TRAPS AND BUY THESE...THEY REALLY WORK!!!
It simply worksDecember 27, 2012
Many product write-ups over-hype usefulness or the product's ability to work. Victor's write-up is spot on. The trap was easy to setup and quickly put in place (where the critter(s) had eaten "Santa's" gift of M&Ms) late in the evening. By morning we had our first (and hopefully only) mouse. The trap is now reset and ready to go.Thanks Victor! RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST JANUARY 02, 2013 Dear Aaron, Thank you for your online review of the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap (model M2524). We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that this trap worked so well and so quickly to help rid your home of this unwelcome holiday guest. Best mouse trip available!December 16, 2012
My wife and I purchased this trip after we discovered a mouse in our kitchen. We smeared a small amount of peanut butter, as directed, and honestly caught our first mouse within 20 minutes in daylight under our sink! Within the first 48 hours, we caught 4 additional mice. We had inactivity for about a week and just caught another now. I was in the kitchen at the time and actually heard it go off - I can verify that it is the most humane killing trap you can purchase - I heard two little quick charges and silence. Don't let the price deter you, this device will replace the necessity of an exterminator. Thank you, Victor. I will happily recommend this product to anyone. I bought this trap after a few unsuccessful attempts to catch the mouse with the basic spring trap. Don't be too hasty... they work.October 08, 2012
Don't know why they list this as a single mouse model. After sitting parallel to a garage wall for a week, (without any luck) I was frustrated and wrote this trap off as $20 wasted... then after nearly a week of ignoring it, I saw a blinking light. Opened it up and found FOUR little beasts zapped within! Two never even reached the metal plates. The greedy monsters died standing on other electrified mice! Great Mouse Trap!September 16, 2012
We recently discovered that we had a furry resident in our garage. We tried the Victor "Quick Set" plastic mouse traps baited with some peanut butter. We just found them in the morning moved, still set and the peanut butter gone!We decided that we needed to try something else. After doing some internet searching, we found this Victor electronic mouse trap and the reviews sounded positive. It was an expensive investment, but we decided to give it a try.My kids took turns putting some peanut butter at he back of the trap and I installed the 4 AA batteries (not included). The trap was set and placed in an area where we knew our furry friend was hanging out.We went to bed and woke up the next morning to find our critter friend caught in the trap! It was only about 6 hours from the time we set the trap to the time we found the mouse trapped. We popped open then door and tossed the mouse away.!This trap, though pricey, is highly recommended. The trap is apparently good for 100 + mice on one set of AA batteries. (Ger a FRESH set of batteries!!)We have reset the trap and we will see if we have any more visitors to the garage. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST SEPTEMBER 18, 2012 Thank you for reviewing the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap! Great ProductAugust 20, 2012
We were having mice problems in our camper trailer. While parked at home no signs of mice, but while on our camping trips mice would get in and keep us up at night chewing at things. We bought this electronic mouse trap when we got home from our latest trip and set it up. Within 30 hours of it inside a cupboard, it caught 2 mice. This unit will work great on our trips also, as it operates on batteries while some of our camping is without hydro hookups. Now I just have to find where the mice are getting in from the outside and stop that from happening. This unit is well worth the money. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST AUGUST 22, 2012 Dear Tom, Thank you for submitting your online review of the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap (model M2524). Works Like a Charm!March 08, 2012
Purchased this product based on good reviews here and elsewhere. Took it home, put some batteries and peanut butter in per the directions and set it against a wall in the garage. Not 24 hours later, it had caught its first mouse. Cleanup is just as easy as it said. Highly recommended!
LOVE THIS TRAP!February 17, 2012
Used 5 of these traps about 10 yrs ago, placing them in locations @ which the dachshunds were going nuts. Got about 3 dozen in the summertime,no less, before they disappeared. Just adopted 2 mini-doxies & the 1st day, the 7.5 lb one went right to work, telling us the mice were back. After trying the plastic snappers, in which I caught a few mice but couldn't reset them, I've decided to buy new electric ones (forgot to remove the batteries from original traps), & give her, and our ears a break! RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST MARCH 1, 2012 Thank you for taking the time to submit an online review! Best mouse trap I have ever usedNovember 01, 2011
This is the best mouse trap that I have found. It kills the mouse quickly and completely. There is no half dead and bleeding mouse caught on the wrong part of his body or a mouse stuck to a glue pad to die a slow agonizing death. It is easy to set, safe around kids and pets and easy to empty the dead mouse without having to handle it. It cost more than standard traps but well worth it and can be used over and over.
Modern MarvelSeptember 08, 2011
The greatest invention of all time, super clean and I garantee this will catch them all over a short
Great product!June 28, 2011
I had my 1st infestation over 5 years ago. This trap caught about 12 mice. It has been sitting turned off and idle with the batteries inserted (stupidly) for the intervening 5 years. I just discovered traces of another infestation so I cleaned it out and added fresh peanut butter bait. It still works like a charm. I highly recommend this product.
It Works!May 16, 2011
This trap works! Bought it when I moved into a new house and found out that we had a unwanted visitor in the house. Caught the unwanted guest in a day or two. Put it away until I needed it at my office, we noticed that we have mice running around the building and leaving little droppings. Left it in an area where we had seen droppings (the glue trap caught nothing but dust) and caught one. Great product and best of all, no touching of rodents.
Work's WondersApril 02, 2011
I purchased my trap in 2008 and stopped an infestation. It was incredible and very surprising because all the other methods did not work. Now that I've moved I'm sad to find that I must have misplaced my trap in the move. I will be purchasing a new trap as soon as possible.
Eventually gets even the crafty ones...March 11, 2011
I have to say I'm still impressed with this item, which I purchased over two years ago and is still on its first set of batteries - going strong! It just got another mouse this morning. I inadvertently broke one of the plastic hinge pins off the cover a couple of months back and our little intruder had figured out how to access the peanut butter and cheese on that side of the device without following the path over the electrodes. So, last night I taped the lid shut and ensured that he had no other access to edibles, then I waited. About an hour later I heard him trying to get into the trap, banging it against the cabinet and trying to chew at the tape. I quietly opened the cabinet door, sized him up and confirmed he couldn't get into the trap, closed it again and went to bed. This morning the green flashing LED confirmed that the trap had successfully accomplished its mission and I quickly disposed of the mouse. Kill number 7 in two years on the job and it is set again for number 8, just waiting silently in the back of my cabinet, armed and ready...These are very easy to use and extremely effective, humane, safe, and sanitary. I would say that if you have the extra couple bucks, spring for the new PRO model with the third electrode. If I'd had that, I think I'd have been rid of this pest before now.Great job to Victor for building a better mouse trap...
Now I have five!March 06, 2011
It has been a month since my first review. I bought two more of these traps, so now I have 5! They have eliminated 14 mice so far. I did have one mouse who actually ate all the peanut butter and turned around in the trap before getting zapped and another who expired right outside the trap. I know he had been zapped because the little yellow light was flashing. My dogs have even given up spending half their day searching the laundry room for these little pests, so I am taking that as a sign that I am winning the battle. I would recommend these to everyone!
Best Mouse Trap I've usedFebruary 20, 2011
I have used multiple Mouse traps in the past to catch mice in my house during the winter months and always would catch 1 or 2 a season. I never felt that the standard traps or glue paper worked well. I would have them out for 2 weeks or more before catching a mouse. This was always also a difficult task due to having 2 dogs so i had to find places that they wouldn't be able to bother the trap. With the Victor Mousetrap I know it's safe and i can set it somewhere and not have to worry about my 2 dogs getting hurt by it. I came across this mouse trap online and saw these positive reviews. I was a little skeptical at first but I figured $25 dollars was worth the shot. Within the first 24 hours I ended up catching 2 mice in the trap. I was impressed with how quick this mouse trap has worked. I'm planning on buying another one to use upstairs and a Victor multi-kill mouse trap and keep that in the basement which should keep my house pretty much mouse free. Thanks for a Great Product
THE BEST ON THE MARKETFebruary 11, 2011
This device works every time! It's easy, humane, and you don't have to touch the mouse. Just dump critter in the garbage or outside. I began finding mice in my kitchen a couple of years ago when my cats starting showing an awful lot of interest in something under my stove and dishwasher. I first used the old-fashioned wooden snap traps but feared a curious cat might suffer a broken paw or leg. So I switched to this and have never looked back. Now I have three of them and they all function perfectly. I hope Victor never stops manufacturing them. The only drawback is my disappointed kitties - they don't have any mice to chase anymore!!! If you have a mouse problem, don't mess about, just go buy a couple of these.
A BETTER MOUSE TRAP YOU WILL NOT FIND!February 08, 2011
Reviewer: Chris from Oxford
This trap is simply the best. It kills mice almost instantly and blinks when one has been killed so you know it is time to empty. A quick tip of the trap and the mouse is out; I hardly have to add new bait. I think it is as humane as it gets for trapping mice, so much better than the “snap traps” you would think the mouse is sleeping as there are no signs that it has been shocked. I doubt they feel a thing. While it cost significantly more than other traps, it lasts for years. Just don’t forget to rotate your batteries out, I had a set leak and it ruined the trap.
Best Traps EverFebruary 01, 2011
I bought 3 of these because glue traps, snap traps, and live capture traps just weren't doing the job. In 18 hours I had caught 5 mice! These are easy to use, easy to bait, and easy disposal of the dead mice!
Trap your mice, ease your conscienceJanuary 28, 2011
I've never had to deal with mice before until we purchased a home. We initially did not see signs of a mice until I went into the garage one day and seen one scamper. I went and purchased the inexpensive "snap" traps and assumed all would be okay, until I caught one. I was mortified because of the brutality because it was not a clean kill. This bothered me far more than I anticipated so I searched for a more humane option because live trapping wasn't a viable alternative. I purchased this trap and I cannot imagine finding a better option. It's human, quick and efficient. Also, it's safe as it cannot discharge with the lid open should you forget to turn it off. It works as advertised and I'm recommending it to anyone with a mouse problem and a understanding that if you have to terminate that there is a humane option.
Best Trap Ever!January 03, 2011
After repeated failed attempts to eradicate a family with other traps, this one is by far the most successful. The traditional snap traps, they just eat the bait and manage to escape. Glue traps...they first managed to escape and since have learned to avoid. The electronic trap... 7 mice and counting in 24 hours. Just bait with some peanut butter.Well worth the price!
Awesome ProductDecember 17, 2010
Reviewer: Rodent Hater
I have had this model for sometime and recently put it in my basement. I had a green blinking light the other day and one dead *$%@ing mouse. What an awesome product with no mess or pinched fingers. It's set for another kill. Thanks Victor for this awesome mouse trap.
Works Great!December 14, 2010
I have used these devices for the past 2 years and they work great! We tried regular snap traps and glue strips with bad and messy results. Just check the light and dump as needed ... its that easy. I am looking to buy a 3 mouse model for the garage now.
Simply AmazingOctober 27, 2010
This trap did what the rest on the market could not. Tried glue and snap traps first but the mice just ate the food off the trap. Bought this set it and had a mouse within the hour. Perfect design, humane, and clean. I recommend a cracker with some peanut butter on it to keep the trap clean. Don't think twice buy one!
best pest investment I ever madeOctober 10, 2010
I bought this item, a few years back when I had a virtual mouse INVASION in an apartment I lived in above a restaurant... I initially thought the price was a bit steep, but after trying the no kill (they work but are kinda hit and miss) the old-fashioned cheapies (oh the carnage!) this trap was a delight to use!you just bait it and leave it, when you catch a mouse, you just open the door and drop it into the garbage and then it's ready to catch again! I hate to think of the number of poor lil mousies I've killed, but this trap has come to the rescue again and again... with a fast humane kill. just took it out again tonight, and I'm sure I'll have trapped by morning...the only con (if there is one) is that I sometimes missed the "alert" light. but no fuss, no muss - I've recommended it many times over.
msOctober 07, 2010
I LOVE the electronic mouse trap. I had some success with the snap traps as well, but I have to hide them from my dog and that makes them less effective. I can place the zappers anywhere, including drawers and closets, without worrying about an accidental triggering. Easy to empty, too.
IT REALLY WORKS!October 01, 2010
We've lived in our house for over 4 years and never saw any evidence of mice until few weeks ago. We call the exterminator and he put some traps in the basement that basically have "slow kill" poison that takes a few days to affect a mouse. The idea was that the mouse would ingest the poison and then finds its way outside our house and then die. It didn't appear to work as my wife and I on numerous occasions would walk into the basements rec room or our family room and see a mouse scurry away when we turn the lights on.I bought a trap and within 2 hours of leaving it in the basement in the dark I see the green light flashing. All I did was smear a miniscule amount of peanut butter on the outside of the trap and then a quarter of a teaspoon within. This technology is far more effective and much cheaper than using an exterminator. This is the kind of thing that could put more exterminators out of business if more people knew about it.
Electronic mouse trapSeptember 16, 2009
I purchased 2 units as all other methods so far have failed to rid this very old house of our problems. I put one unit in the recently cleared attic where we found a lot of droppings. No sign of activity there as yet. But, the unit I put in the cellar had a catch within 30 minutes of installing it last night. One drawback, which makes me put a (4) above, I could barely get this fat mouse out of the box. Thusly, I had to go find a convenient wooden chopstick to pry the creature out. I think that, had I known about the other units (via this website) I may have gone for the model that has the drop down bottom. However, the hardware store only had this one version, and I need deal with the problem now as I am hoping to sell this house very soon. All in all, a very good device!!
Victor M252 Works!August 02, 2009
I bought M252 which they had at Walmart, not M252M. Still takes 4 AA batteries which where Not included in version I got. I had gotten 3 kinds. 1) thie Victor model, 2) a round D-Con version, and 3) a rectangular semi-see-thru version. All state "gets in but can't get out". HURRAY! All suggest P'nut butter for bait. READ DIRECTIONS! Don't want to touch the thing. However, although Victor M252 version offered a "kind" kill option. AFTER 4 DAYS ONLY THE VICTOR m252 HAS CAUGHT ANYTHING! 2 down - hope there are not any/many to go. When caught/dead, a green light will blink. I double-up some brown bags, open the lid, and dump it in and straight to trash. Neighbors had said the streets were infested with rats" along our street - maybe but looks like little mice to me. Else I've only found the little ones?? The other 2 types of traps I bought have not caught anything even though I had placed them by droppings. I dunno, but going to other places to see if I can get more of Victor M252 models in lieu of any others. Thanks!

MHB1967April 13, 2013
I have purchased several of these traps. When they operate correctly they are great. BUT most of them have failed after a few months. I put new batteries in them and they no longer work, or after I press the activation switch they start to buzz after the green light goes out. The quality of these traps needs to be improved significantly. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST APRIL 18, 2013 Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap (model M2524). While we are pleased to hear that these traps initially worked well, we apologize that you have not continued to see the desired results. With this trap, it is very important that the metal plates be clean of any debris. We recommend using just a small amount of peanut butter on the back wall of the trap. This will help ensure that bait does not get on the metal plates which will adversely affect the performance of the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap. To clean your trap: • Remove the batteries. • Wipe the plates of your trap with a damp cloth – water only, no soaps or detergents (soaps and detergents will repel rodents). • Allow trap to air dry. • Replace the batteries (make sure they are fully charged) We hope this information helps. If you have tried cleaning your trap and still have problems please do not hesitate to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867). Not sure if this even works?May 20, 2013
I've caught zero mice with this trap, not sure if it even works? I put it along the wall where mice activity is highest, used fresh batteries, and followed all recommendations and guides on how to place properly and the proper bait to use. Still no mouse. Either this doesn't work or the mouse is too smart for this trap. Disappointing. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST MAY 23, 2013 Dear Steve, Thank you for your review! We are very sorry to learn that the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap (model 2524) has yet to catch a mouse. From your description your placement is ideal as mice travel along the walls. With electronic traps, it is very important to ensure that the metal plates are clear of any debris. You may want to consider cleaning the inside of the trap. I have brought M2524 electronic mouse trap and had no success. The green lights was on and I was so happy that this electronic trap works. When I opened the door , there were no mouse!!! Worked like a little mouse resturantOctober 19, 2012
I expected this to work but have become disillusioned. I put in the peanut butter, turned on the switch, and placed it on a mouse highway. Waited several weeks with no light. Just opened it up an found nothing but mouse poop. The peanut butter was all cleaned up. The batteries are still good and when I turn it on the led lights momentarily just like it is supposed to. RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST OCTOBER 22, 2012 Dear Ken, Thank you for contacting us! We are sorry to hear you did not have success using the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap (model M2524). When baiting your trap it is very important to smear just a small amount of peanut butter (about the size of a pea) inside the back wall of the trap, not the metal plates on the floor of the trap. This is because the trap activates when it senses resistance, or weight on the plates. Bait or any type of debris will cause a “false resistance” which can result in the trap thinking it has a catch when it doesn’t. This will cause your trap to misfire, allowing a rodent to enter, eat and escape. In most cases all that is needed to get your trap working is to clean it. To clean your trap: • Remove the batteries. • Wipe the plates of your trap with a damp cloth – water only, (soaps and detergents will repel rodents). • Allow trap to air dry. • Replace the batteries (make sure the batteries are fresh!) We hope you find this information to be helpful. If you have tried cleaning your trap and still have problems please let us know at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) so we can assist you. Didn't kill it...October 01, 2012
We have the occasional mouse find its way into our home. I bought one of these units and placed it in our pantry. Within a few hours we found the green light blinking. I picked it up, opened it and the mouse looked up at me then jumped out, scared my wife (big time) then ran away and hid.Not sure if it is a tough mouse or a defective or weak unit. I sure hope it works better in the future.Greg RESPONSE FROM VICTOR PEST OCTOBER 03, 2012 Dear Greg, Thank you for taking the time to submit your online review of the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap (model M2524). We are sorry to hear that the trap has not yet been successful in catching the mouse. With this trap it is important to ensure that all of the metal plates are clear of any debris. To ensure this is the case, we recommend wiping the metal plates with a damp cloth (no soap or cleaning materials). Allow the trap to air dry, then reinsert the fully charged batteries. We hope this information helps, if you have any questions or continue to have problems with the trap, please do not hesitate to contact our Consumer Relations Team at 1-855-5-VICTOR (1-855-584-2867) for further assistance. Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. For example, if you have a mouse in your house (super small droppings as compared to rat droppings, which are about the size of half a raisin).
How do I bait it?/What should I use to bait it?
To bait the Electronic Mouse Trap, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along the back wall of the trap in the bait trough provided. We’ve carefully researched and recommend baiting with anything high in protein like peanut butter or hazelnut spread. Place a small amount of bait (the size of a pea) against the back wall of the kill chamber. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. Please don’t place the bait or any other material directly on the metal plates as this will falsely trip the system.
How do I clean the trap?
Through repeat use and baiting, dust and debris can settle on the metal plates inside the trap, so we recommend that you clean your trap between each use. To clean the trap: • Turn the unit to the off position and remove the batteries • Wipe the metal plates with a damp cloth (water or unscented dish detergent only) • Allow the Electronic Mouse Trap to air dry completely • Replace the batteries and turn the unit back on.
Is the buzzing/clicking normal?
The buzzing and slight clicking sound with the Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is normal during the start-up of the trap. When you first turn the trap on, the green light will blink momentarily and then you will hear the buzzing or a slight clicking sound indicating that you trap is working properly and starting up.
Is it reusable?
The Victor® Electronic Mouse Trap is reusable. These traps are able to kill up to 100 mice per set of batteries.
