How many times have you checked a trap to find no mouse…and no bait? With Quick-Kill®, this frustrating exercise is over for good. The Quick-Kill® trap is equipped with a covered bait trough that can hold a mouse’s favorite foods or nesting materials while eliminating any chance of bait theft.
Once the trap is baited, simply lift the kill bar until it clicks into position, and then place it against the wall where mice are known to travel. The Quick-Kill® trap is perfect for setting along favorite runways close to walls where mice love to travel, or wherever you’ve seen evidence of mouse activity.
When a mouse lifts the bait cover to access the bait, the kill bar is immediately released with Precision Strike Technology™ that ensures perfect placement for a quick, humane kill. After the mouse is caught, simply lift up on the red kill bar handle to dispose of the dead rodent. So when you need a mouse trap that effectively kills a mouse, look no further than the Victor® Quick-Kill® Mouse Trap.
The Victor® Quick-Kill® Mouse Trap can be used anywhere in the home, indoors or out. The trap contains no chemicals or poisons—making it ideal for households with children or pets, but please use with caution.
The Quick-Kill® is easy-to-set and poses no threat to fingers. Here’s how:
Lift the bait cover.
Using a Q-tip, toothpick or other tool to mask your scent, bait the trap by placing peanut butter or anything high in protein like chocolate or hazelnut spread in the bait trough.
Close the bait cover.
Lift the red handle on the kill bar until it clicks and locks into place.
Place the trap wherever you’ve seen signs of rodent activity, or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap with the bait cover/trough should be placed flush against the wall.
After the mouse is caught, simply lift the red handle on the kill bar to dispose of the dead rodent.

This Victor Quick-Kill Mouse Trap is way better than the traditional wooden ones. Very easy and safe installation. Just put some peanut butter under the bait cover then pull the red latch back until it clicks! I caught a mouse the first night I put it out. For me I don't reuse mouse traps because I think its unsanitary. Quick and easy throw away. Will definitely purchase more!

Effective and easy to use. Seems less intimidating than the standard trap. I realize that this is a new mousetrap and that the fundamental mechanism is the same, but for some reason it seems a lot easier to use and is less intimidating than the "regular" mousetrap. I find it easier to use and therefore I set it more often ... which is good. Overall, I am very happy with it and will buy more .

Victor mouse traps are excellent. We live in the country and have barns so we have to keep several places baited at all times. The Victor traps have been superior to other brands of traps that we have tried. There are a few places that we just cannot keep an eye on constantly like under buildings so in those places we do use poisons. They definitely work but we do not feel like those are as humane as just setting out a quick-kill trap. They aren't exactly painless but they are quick, it's over in just a second for sure with this Victor Quick-kill trap with precision strike technology. This trap is a new way of baiting and catching the mouse. You place the bait into the container and then lift the striking bar. The bar activates and strikes when the mouse noses into the bait container so you don't have to worry about getting your hands in the trap or accidentally triggering it as you walk by. Also since it is not designed to be triggered by the weight of the mouse but by him getting into the bait, you don't have to worry about the tension so no more stolen peanut butter but no mice.

We never really had a problem with mice until my sister started collecting fabric in the garage. Then we started getting some signs of night visitors. I received two kinds of Victor mouse traps to try, and this one is the better of the two. There's no danger of having it accidentally snap down on your fingers while you're setting it. The photos at the top of this product page show you step by step how it is set.
I like all of the mouse traps that allow you to dispose of the mouse without touching it, but I usually just end up wastefully throwing away the whole trap with the mouse, because there's a big gross-out factor for me. However, if we start to get a larger number of mice, I'll have to rethink that strategy, and these traps are re-usable. They are plastic, so you can easily disinfect them after disposing of the mouse, and save money and resources.
I like the quick kill idea with these traps, especially after having once seen a mouse writhing in its death throes immediately after being caught in a different kind of trap. Much as I hate having the little monsters in my house, I'd rather they didn't suffer. I definitely recommend these traps. Great design, great price.

I hate dealing with mice and especially dislike having to dispose of them. But after trying several different mouse traps the Victor M140S has turned out to be a good choice for me. The trap is easy to bait and set yet difficult to set off by mistake. While I prefer not to look at the dead mouse, any decent trap will be too cost prohibitive for one-time use and this trap at least makes it easy to dispose of the mouse quickly without having to touch the carcass. I did try the Kill and Seal trap, which touts easy removal of the mouse if you choose to reuse it. But those never worked properly for me and because it seals in the mouse, it was actually hard to tell sometimes if something had even been caught (I had a lot of false positives). At least with the Victor M140S Quick Kill trap, whether it is working or not is obvious. No one likes dealing with mice, especially dead ones, but the Victor M140S makes the process as painless as possible for both the hunter and the prey.

So far, I have been really pleased with this mouse trap. It is the easiest of all traps to set that I have tried. It catches mice! Even on those nights when the mice don't set it off (there have been a few), they don't manage to steal the bait. In other words, if they get to the bait, the trap catches them. Every catch has been a quick kill, which is very important. I found a different type of trap the other morning with a mouse caught in it -- by the tail. That mouse was still very much alive. Without the assistance of my hen, I would've had a problem. But back to this trap. It is truly "a better mouse trap" -- the best I've ever used. I recommend it highly.

I tried to avoid the old tired euphemism about building a better mousetrap, but I just couldn't avoid it. This *is* a better mousetrap, in my view.
The molded plastic base seems quite durable. It's very easy to set. Obviously, you're going to want to keep your fingers away from the target strike area, just in case.
Setting the trap requires very little strength. Just place food under the bait cover and pull the red handle back until it locks into place, again...watching your fingers just in case.
This is a superior design to the traditional wooden mousetrap, in my view. I also feel that it's well-priced for 2 traps. 5 stars.

Victor is THE name in rodent traps, and if anyone could come with the so-called better mouse trap, Victor would be the ones to do it. It seems they've actually pulled off such a feat too, as this is an incredibly effective mouse trap. The bait trough is easy to fill and it is virtually impossible for mice of any size to steal the bait; they will get trapped die a quick death in the process of trying.
This mouse trap is very easy to bait and set, and the innovative design makes worrying about snapped fingers while setting it a thing of the past. Because of the excellent design, no matter what angle the mouse approaches the bait trough from, when they hit the trigger mechanism they will be trapped. I've yet to have a tripped trap with no kill.

They always said you couldn't build a better mousetrap, but that seems to be untrue here. It starts by taking them out of the package, which doesn't require a scissors and stabbing to open, instead you just simply pull it open, genius.
Setting the traps are super easy, the bar is easy to lift up and set, easily clicking into place, no setting a small hard to manage piece while holding something about to pinch your fingers. The food area has a nice protective cover that when flipped up slams the trap down. They are also quite easy to see from a distance wether they have been triggered or not. Compared to standard mousetraps these are great.

I had a feeling I might have a mouse out in my garage so set up a pair of these in the spots where I noticed some mouse damage, using peanut butter to bait them and a couple of days later, it had snagged him. I feel these types of traps are the most humane as they kill the mouse instantly by breaking its neck, versus glue traps or poison which both seem unnecessarily cruel and slow, if they even work at all. The design of this trap is particularly accurate in making a quick kill. I'd definitely use them again.

This trap snaps hard and fast for a humane kill. We use one of the garages as an office and craft space. Unwanted critters find the heat irresistible in the fall, and it being a garage, it's easy for them to get in. It caught a mouse in only 2 days after being baited with peanut butter.
If you aren't too squeamish the trap can be reused.
No more hurt fingers!October 03, 2014
This is the easiest to set trap I have ever used! I always used to buy the old fashioned kind--- tried & true, right? But then I kept putting off setting them because I was always getting my fingers snapped! These are so easy and killed 2 mice the very first night. As suggested, I used a small amount of peanut butter and smeared it on the bottom of the bait tray, so the mouse actually had to stick its head in to get at it.

One of the most amazing things about this mouse trap isn't the way it works, it is the way it doesn't break your fingers setting it.
You set your bait inside of the small hole. Then you lift up the bar until it clicks. The mouse is killed when it tries to get the bait by nosing under the bait cover. The key part of this is that it doesn't count on the weight of the mouse to set it off, a problem I have sometimes had no matter how sensitive the trap.
Five stars, no more captured fingers.

Down on the farm, mice flourish unless we do something about it. The last trap we received is the Victor M140S Quick Kill Mouse Trap, 2-Pack which seems to do just as well as the Victor M142S Power Kill Mouse Trap, 2-Pack, maybe even better because the mouse must lift a cover to access the bait so that the kill bar can be released. It looks less like a traditional mouse trap but sets in a similar fashion with the addition of the protective bait cover. One thing I had not thought about that was in the instructions was to use something like a cotton swab to insert the bait so your scent isn't transferred, but I wonder about your scent being on the other parts of the trap anyway. I try to use disposable gloves when setting traps, so I didn't think it would be a problem to just use a gloved finger for the peanut butter. The negative for us is that for some reason, the dogs are attracted to this mouse trap whereas they do not pay attention to any of the others. These cost a little bit more, but if you're able to comfortably dispose of the mouse remains and reuse the trap, it's a wash in the long run. We have had to put these in the trailer where the dogs don't go and feel that with the bait stations outside, we're off to a good start on the property.

This trap works really well. One of the main problems I've had with the old fashioned mouse traps is the mouse gets away with the bait. This trap solves that problem because the bait area is covered and they have to put their heads inside to get the bait. I use peanut butter which mice can't seem to resist. I smear just a little bit as far inside the bait area as possible. It doesn't take much because they can smell peanut butter a mile away. I put this trap along the wall in my garage as shown in the instructions. At this time of year, mice want to come inside my garage for the winter so I had a mouse the next morning when I checked the trap. I did not see the trap in action, but I assume it killed the mouse quickly/humanely since there was no sign of struggle. This trap has a good, hard snap.
It is fairly easy to dispose of the mouse. I always wear disposable gloves when doing this & make sure the mouse is dead. I hate this part of the process (guilt) but it has to be done.

Previously, my cats were my mouse traps. Unfortunately, they are getting on in age and so I have to find a different way to catch any wayward mice. I chose this type because it is 1) easy to set, 2) quick kill, and 3) can be used repeatedly. I found it to be very easy to set and used peanut butter to bait the trap. I haven't caught any mice yet but will update this once I do. I really liked that I didn't have to risk snapping my fingertips like the old-fashioned traps were prone to do.

Does what it is supposed to do and can be reused. As quick a death for the rodent as possible, though you will see the creature when you empty the trap.

This Victor M140S Quick Kill Mouse Trap is by far the easiest trap to bait and set that I have ever seen. We have used both Victor and Tomcat traps in the past, both with occasional mixed results, but his trap is fairly close to the being perfect.
Baiting the trap is as easy as lifting the little lid and filling the molded cavity with your bait of choice (we use peanut butter). To set the trap, simply raise the bar to 90-degrees and it is ready. The trap is sprung when the lid is lifted by a critter trying to get t the bait.
My only concern is the fairy weak spring that I'm not 100% positive will deliver a quick kill if it doesn't hit exactly right. Still, this is a good design that will at least catch and hold a mouse until I can finish the job.
Not the Best for Tiny MouseJanuary 02, 2015
I know the trap works well for larger mice and even in the middle of the room. Caught two mice in one day. Once the mice were disposed of, the two traps were laid down again closer to the walls but unfortunately, the peanut butter was gone from both traps. The lids didn't even lift up. Now, I'm tempted to buy the electronic units instead.

When testing the traps with a pencil or something similar, do they close as designed? If they do, we would recommend placing just a small amount of bait at the far end of the bait trough, as this will ensure that the mice are opening the lid to the bait fully, setting off the trap.
