Gopher trapping can be done at any time of year, but generally is easiest and most effective during Spring & Fall. Once gopher activity is detected it is important to move quickly as pregnant females can be caught before giving birth to her family.
Traps are most effective when properly placed in the gopher tunnel to snare the unsuspecting gopher in the spring-triggered loop. The hole should be covered up with dirt so that it appears as if the trap is part of the runway.
When used correctly, traps produce a catch within 48 hours. It is best to move the trap to another location in the runway if you do not catch a gopher in this timeframe.

WE HAVE BEEN INVADED BY GOPHERS AND TRIED EVERTHING. WE TRIED POISON PELLETS, OTHER BAITS, SWEENEYS WIRE TRAPS, FLOODING THEM OUT. DOGS OCCASIONALLY GET ONE, EVEN JUICY FRUIT CHEWING GUM AND NOTHING WORKED! FINALLY I SAW "THE BLACK BOX GOPHER TRAP" AND ALTHOUGH A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE, I BOUGHT ONE. MY HUSBAND SET IT LAST WEEK AND WE FORGOT TO CHECK IT THE NEXT DAY, BUT WHEN WE CHECKED IT ON THE 2ND DAY, THERE WAS A BIG FAT GOPHER IN IT! WE HAVE BEEN CATCHING ONE A DAY EVER SINCE. WE HAVE GOTTEN 4 GOPHERS JUST THIS WEEK! I ACTUALLY WENT AND BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE AND WE FOUND ONE IN THERE LAST NIGHT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE TRAPS! 5 STARS!!!!!

I used to trap alot of gophers and today I got this trap. In one hour I had the bigest gopher I can recall. Great product. Thanks Victor. What I did is put a baby carrot in his tunnel before I put the trap, then also put one sticking into the trap through thte small hole, then covered whole set up with a metal garbage lid, seal with dirt as needed, put a rock on top and go to bed .......
