Rat Zapper Ultra Rat Trap - 8 Traps

If you're looking to get rid of one rat or several large rats, the Rat Zapper Ultra will deliver years of dependable service. This electronic rat trap is humane, safe, and easy to use. From set-up and use through cleaning and maintenance, each zap will be a snap thanks to clear step-by-step instructions. Once the target enters the Ultra, two plates deliver a total of 8,000 volts for two minutes, ensuring high kill rates. And the "no touch" feature makes disposal a truly hands-off experience. 8 traps.

How It Works

The Rat Zapper Ultra is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when the rodent enters the trap. Once the rodent is inside, the rat steps onto the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a quick, humane 8,000 volt shock. Since rats have the ability to restart their hearts, the shock is applied for 2 minutes ensuring a high kill rate. Each time the trap catches a rat, the light on top of the trap flashes red to indicate a kill. You can "zap" 60 rats with one set of 4 “D” batteries, which makes it a truly effective rat trap.

Features

Easy to Use

How easy are they to use? Very--and that's just one reason why they're so popular--just insert batteries, bait, place, turn it on and relax. First, insert 4 “D” batteries into the battery compartment. Using the entrance, bait the trap along the back wall using a small amount of peanut butter, dry pet food or nuts. Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. Turn on the Rat Zapper Ultra. A red light will blink once indicating the trap is working properly.

Simple Setup

"Yuck"-Free Cleanup

The hands-free, "no touch, no view" disposal reduces the "yuck" factor of a common mouse and rat trap. Clean-up is easy and it can be reused indefinitely--your friends and family will want to borrow it for safe, humane rat elimination.

Safe and Sanitary

The Rat Zapper Ultra is safe for use anywhere in the home. Built with high-quality electronics, recycled plastics, and recycled packaging, the Rat Zapper Ultra is both effective and environmentally friendly. It is ideal for attics, garages, basements and sheds. While it's always wise to use caution around children and pets, there is no blood, mess, chemicals, or poisons with the Rat Zapper Ultra.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really does work Having a rat problem in the crawlspace at my office (which is in a 150 year old house). Managed to get one with an old Victor snap trap but scared the heck out of me setting them. Exterminator wanted $1000 to set poison (bad idea, I don't want to smell decaying rat for months) and set a bunch of traps. Decided to spring for $100 to get three of the ultras. Took a few weeks to get one and the traps kept getting tripped by bugs climbing in to take a look around. Then several months with nothing. I read website again and saw the suggestion to use gloves when setting the traps so they don't smell people on the traps. One week after switching to gloves....three dead rats, two little and one monster. It's a bit creepy dumping dead rats out, but that much less creepy than live rats beneath my feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than a cat!!! Had one of these for years, it's deadly, in fact, it's better than a cat. I just needed another one. I've never cleaned it or maintained it in any fashion, just fed it batteries and baited it with dog food. No muss no fuss!!! I should have put notches on it like the old gunslingers use ta do. Whoever invented this, is a genius!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought more I was skeptical. However this trap was highly recommended by a friend. It's great! 9 nights out, 10 rats zapped dead. Highly recommending to my friends now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design but malfunction problem I like the design of the rat zapper. Had bought three of the smaller units previously and had problems with rats getting wedged in the trap after being electrocuted. This design is far superior for the rats I have been trying to eliminate. I rat tail is a excellent innovation - prevents me from climbing into my attic space each day to inspect. I have had a nagging problem with two of the four units I purchased after a few kills. The units appear to be working fine with green light lighting up as usual when turning the unit on. However units no longer kill the rats and rat tail lights up solid red and bait is eaten. Would like to know if this problem is repairable? What might have happened to cause this solid red light display? There is nothing like these units on the market - I think this is the most humane way to kill these pests - I like the concept. However I don't want to have to purchase a new unit every 4-6 rat kills. What can I do to avoid this problem?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got one first night! I received 3 Rat Zappers yesterday and zapped one rat last night already! I have been trying to live catch the rats, but they get the bait without tripping the door, so had to get serious! Highly Recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Very easy to use and they work great. Once they do their job its easy to dump out and start again. Really like that there is no poison involved so they are safe on he environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE!!! Rats/mice in this area have been terrible this year. Never had a rodent problem until my cat died. Nothing has worked...nothing....until the rat zapper. Thought I was going to have to get another cat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IT REALLY WORKS! I set up my Rat Sapper against the wall where a rat come through a drain in my pool area from outside. I put a little dry cat food in the back like it said. Pushed the button and green light came on. Came out this morning and red light was blinking. Worked like a charm! I don't like killing anything but there is more than one and they are in my attic, my grill, my fire pit, and my pool area and I had to do something humane, so that it would not suffer. I feel so good about this I am putting out all three of them tonight. It is sooo easy!

Q&A
FAQs

Rat Zapper Ultra Trap - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I place the trap?

A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. Rats are wary critters and they’ll initially avoid anything new in their environment. Good news is we’re smarter than they are! It may take a few days or nights for the first rat to enter your trap but be patient!

Q: How do I bait the trap?/What should I use to bait the trap?

A: To bait the Rat Zapper, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along or on the back wall of the trap. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. We’ve carefully researched dry pet food and found it an excellent lure. Other dried baits (nuts, dehydrated fruit, etc.) can also work well. Goopy Bait Note: Please don’t place moist or goopy bait in your Rat Zapper unless you place it in a plastic container, like a medium plastic bottle cap, and then slide it to the back of your Rat Zapper. (Otherwise you may goop the electronics and/or falsely trip the system.)

Q: What type of batteries do I need?

A: The Rat Zapper Ultra requires 4 “D” alkaline batteries which will provide approximately two years of stand-by power. Use high quality alkaline batteries to ensure the best results.
