Rat Zapper Ultra Rat Trap - 8 Traps

If you're looking to get rid of one rat or several large rats, the Rat Zapper Ultra will deliver years of dependable service. This electronic rat trap is humane, safe, and easy to use. From set-up and use through cleaning and maintenance, each zap will be a snap thanks to clear step-by-step instructions. Once the target enters the Ultra, two plates deliver a total of 8,000 volts for two minutes, ensuring high kill rates. And the "no touch" feature makes disposal a truly hands-off experience. 8 traps.

How It Works

The Rat Zapper Ultra is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when the rodent enters the trap. Once the rodent is inside, the rat steps onto the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a quick, humane 8,000 volt shock. Since rats have the ability to restart their hearts, the shock is applied for 2 minutes ensuring a high kill rate. Each time the trap catches a rat, the light on top of the trap flashes red to indicate a kill. You can "zap" 60 rats with one set of 4 “D” batteries, which makes it a truly effective rat trap.

Features

Easy to Use

How easy are they to use? Very--and that's just one reason why they're so popular--just insert batteries, bait, place, turn it on and relax. First, insert 4 “D” batteries into the battery compartment. Using the entrance, bait the trap along the back wall using a small amount of peanut butter, dry pet food or nuts. Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. Turn on the Rat Zapper Ultra. A red light will blink once indicating the trap is working properly.

Simple Setup

"Yuck"-Free Cleanup

The hands-free, "no touch, no view" disposal reduces the "yuck" factor of a common mouse and rat trap. Clean-up is easy and it can be reused indefinitely--your friends and family will want to borrow it for safe, humane rat elimination.

Safe and Sanitary

The Rat Zapper Ultra is safe for use anywhere in the home. Built with high-quality electronics, recycled plastics, and recycled packaging, the Rat Zapper Ultra is both effective and environmentally friendly. It is ideal for attics, garages, basements and sheds. While it's always wise to use caution around children and pets, there is no blood, mess, chemicals, or poisons with the Rat Zapper Ultra.

Rat Zapper Ultra Rat Trap is rated 4.5506 out of 5 by 89.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ultra is the King! Yesterday, I wrote in a brief description of my difficulties with trying to get the "C" battery model to work correctly. I had originally purchased form the Home Hardware Mega Store with the Big Blue label and was told that this model was returned a lot. But the guy over a Wally-Mart said that the Victor Ultra was the king. He basically sold me on it with his story of trying several different methods of rodent abatement until finding that the Ultra had the power to take care of his Rats. So, as my next step was to get a cat, I thought okay, let's try it one more time. Well, long story short the Ultra "D" battery model worked the first time out of the box and I woke up this morning to find my first rat in the trap. I re-baited with a little dab of super chunky peanut butter and put it back in the garage. I arrived home tonight to find another rat in the Ultra. I was pretty sure I only had the 2 rats but my wife insisted that I set it up again just to be sure. This morning there was another rat. And when I arrived home from work there was another rat in the unit. (That's 4 rats in my garage, so far...!) So I am sorry for the bad review I did earlier about the "C" battery model and would definitely recommend the Ultra model. I would like to note that I rigged the peanut butter by drilling two tiny holes into a soda cap. Then strung a sandwich bag twisty-tie through the holes. I then filled the cap about half full of super crunchy Skippy and wired that cap to the back wall. Then I placed the back of the unit against a brick, in a high traffic spot, right next to some rat feces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No better way to eliminate rats I've had a couple of these for several years. I didn't have attic access but I had a family of rats right above our bedroom :( I did have a speaker mounted in the ceiling so I pulled the speaker out and put the Rat Zapper in through the hole and replaced the speaker. I left the rat tale hanging down. First night I got one. Second night another and by the 5th night I had zapped 6 rats and had no more problems for a couple of years. Last week another was running around (we had left a bag a flour in our garage). Took a little longer but I got him also. I use dry cat food for bait. These are great because unlike the other traps there is no way the rat will run to where you can't get them. Believe me if you don't get them out when they're dead within a few days they start smelling pretty bad. Don't hesitate to buy this. It may take more than a few days depending on the rat but eventually they get hungry and will be zapped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rat Zapper does just that Just moved into this cottage few months ago . 2 weeks have noticed pellets on the ground and was wondering if I had rats or mice. Did not take me long to actually see the critter. I am still not sure if it was a small rat or large mouse but it taunted me. I would says " I see you!" it would look at me and take off running. Right in the kitchen floor. I layed down the snap traps but never worked. I ordered Rat Zapper on the 25th and got it on 27th ( thanksgiving kind of ruined the next day delivery ><) . It came today and I went to walmart to get D batteries and pick up some dog food and hamster/gerbil food ( in case the dog food trick didn't work) I bought kibble and bits small bag , i put the batteries in and put it against the wall near where I found the fecal matter. I put one kibble at the entrance of the trap to lure it in, the rest in the back of the trap. 30 mins later i could hear the zapper going off. It zapped that critter for good 2 mins. I turned it off took it outside to the dumpster and sure enough a mouse had enter the trap to it's doom. I re-baited and put it back again and am waiting to see if I get more. I am a little concerned I may have more since that one didn't seem to look like the one i saw in the kitchen. I may have a clever one that might not fall for it but Ill keep trying. The product works and surprising fast. I may try the gerbil bait to see if that lures them even more. I recommend you buy this product. I have a terminix subscription so monday he will be coming over going to see about him trying to help me find their entrance locations and help me seal off the house. I dont not recommend using poison. ( they can die in your walls and they might be small but they can really stink of the house being dead)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended, does the trick We live in Arizona, have pack rats, after trying glue traps, and "regular" spring traps, decided to purchase these (great deal, buy 2, get 1 free).....we are using 2 traps outside...and are catching mice every night in at least one trap.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Purchased 3 and I set two on the back porch. Within the first few hours I caught a pack rat that was after my outdoor furniture. In a day or so I also caught a mole that must have been migrating at night to the flower beds. Zapped them! I love looking to see if the red light is flashing. Easy to set, easy to get rid of critter. I highly recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your $ Bought 3 Rat Zapper Ultras. All three quit working within a month (at different times). Did the clean/soak method. The top never got wet. 3 of 3 will not turn on. Replaced the batteries. Pretty cheap! Wouldn't recommend, wish I could give it a zero star rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for mice too These zappers work great---they flash a red light when mouse has been zapper--just dump the the mouse out and reset---I use a kennel of dog food in the trap

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smart mice foiled my plan I was so happy to catch a rat and a mouse the first night but sadly none since. I think they figured it out and now give the traps wide berth. Will keep trying though.

FAQs

Rat Zapper Ultra Trap - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I place the trap?

A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. Rats are wary critters and they’ll initially avoid anything new in their environment. Good news is we’re smarter than they are! It may take a few days or nights for the first rat to enter your trap but be patient!

Q: How do I bait the trap?/What should I use to bait the trap?

A: To bait the Rat Zapper, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along or on the back wall of the trap. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. We’ve carefully researched dry pet food and found it an excellent lure. Other dried baits (nuts, dehydrated fruit, etc.) can also work well. Goopy Bait Note: Please don’t place moist or goopy bait in your Rat Zapper unless you place it in a plastic container, like a medium plastic bottle cap, and then slide it to the back of your Rat Zapper. (Otherwise you may goop the electronics and/or falsely trip the system.)

Q: What type of batteries do I need?

A: The Rat Zapper Ultra requires 4 “D” alkaline batteries which will provide approximately two years of stand-by power. Use high quality alkaline batteries to ensure the best results.
