Rat Zapper® Ultra - 2 Pack
If you're looking to get rid of one rat or several large rats, the Rat Zapper® Ultra will deliver years of dependable service. This electronic rat trap is humane, safe, and easy to use. From set-up and use through cleaning and maintenance, each zap will be a snap thanks to clear step-by-step instructions. Once the target enters the Ultra, two plates deliver a total of 8,000 volts for two minutes, ensuring high kill rates. And the "no touch" feature makes disposal a truly hands-off experience.
How It Works
The Rat Zapper® Ultra is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when the rodent enters the trap. Once the rodent is inside, the rat steps onto the metal plates, completing the circuit and the trap delivers a quick, humane 8,000 volt shock. Since rats have the ability to restart their hearts, the shock is applied for 2 minutes ensuring a high kill rate. Each time the trap catches a rat, the light on top of the trap flashes red to indicate a kill. You can "zap" 60 rats with one set of 4 “D” batteries, which makes it an effective rat trap.
Easy to Use
How easy are they to use? Very--and that's just one reason why they're so popular--just insert batteries, bait, place, turn it on and relax. First, insert 4 “D” batteries into the battery compartment. Using the entrance, bait the trap along the back wall using a small amount of peanut butter, dry pet food or nuts. Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. Turn on the Rat Zapper® Ultra. A green light will blink once indicating the trap is working properly.
The hands-free, "no touch, no view" disposal reduces the "yuck" factor of a common mouse and rat trap. Clean-up is easy and it can be reused indefinitely--your friends and family will want to borrow it for safe, humane rat elimination.
Safe and Sanitary
The Rat Zapper® Ultra is safe for use anywhere in the home. Built with high-quality electronics, recycled plastics, and recycled packaging, the Rat Zapper® Ultra is both effective and environmentally friendly. It is ideal for attics, garages, basements and sheds. While it's always wise to use caution around children and pets, there is no blood, mess, chemicals, or poisons with the Rat Zapper® Ultra.

Review RateLast a week or 2
I bought one 3 weeks ago to catch critters in my shed. It worked about 10 days then quit. All 4 batteries had 1.45v....should be enough but I tried 4 new ones with 1.60v....nothin! Returned it and got another. It lasted exactly 4 days. Same symptoms as the other one. On my 3rd one now. If it quits in a week or 2 I am going to return it for a refund.Response From Victor®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative

Bought this for a tenant with rat problem. He says rats prefer this trap to snap traps. Works like a charm with peanut butter on dry dog food. Running out of rats
Review RateBye bye rats
Excellent and humane way to eliminate rodents. I just installed 4 fresh Duracell D batteries and within a an half hour I caught 2 very large rats.
So far we have had the red light blinking but no rat. Once I even heard a Rucus and heard the rat scream in the trap under our sink but checked and the trap was empty. We have 3 traps and the score so far is rats 4. Traps zero. Getting ready to see if we can return them for a refund Not sure if our rats are too big or whatResponse From Victor®Jennifer : Consumer Relations Representative
We apologize for this experience. For the best results, we recommend baiting the back wall of the trap with a toothpick amount of peanut butter. This will force the rat to go all the way into the trap and come in contact with the metal plates for the full two minute shock.

Review RateWhen they work they work great!
Bought a trap it killed 10 rats than died. Second trap didn't work, third trap killed 3 and fourth was square and I have a video of the rat going in and nothing happening. When they work they work great but when they don't, waste of money.Response From Victor®Susan : Consumer Relations Representative
For best results, it is important that the metal plates be free of any dirt or debris. Because of this, we recommend cleaning the trap between each catch. To clean the trap, first turn it off and remove the batteries. The bottom plates can then be wiped with a damp cloth and allowed to air dry fully. Once the trap is dry, the batteries can be re-inserted.

Review RateWorks great!
Works great! Great way to kill rat without the yuck factor. It would be great if the product can be improved for outdoor use.
Review RateThey work great and hope they keep on working.
We live on a retirement ranch, and have a doggy door. Since getting the traps we catch something every night. We put 4 of them out in and outside the house. Nothing worse than finding mouse turds on your counters. We also have pack rats around and have caught/killed a few of them. Feel better now with the traps around.

Rat Zapper® Ultra Trap - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do I place the trap?
A: Place the trap along the wall where rodents primarily travel or where you have seen signs of rodent activity. Rats are wary critters and they’ll initially avoid anything new in their environment. Good news is we’re smarter than they are! It may take a few days or nights for the first rat to enter your trap but be patient!
Q: How do I bait the trap?/What should I use to bait the trap?
A: To bait the Rat Zapper®, first make sure the trap is turned off. Place the bait along or on the back wall of the trap. Be sure to use gloves or a tool to bait so your scent is not transferred onto the trap. We’ve carefully researched dry pet food and found it an excellent lure. Other dried baits (nuts, dehydrated fruit, etc.) can also work well. Goopy Bait Note: Please don’t place moist or goopy bait in your Rat Zapper® unless you place it in a plastic container, like a medium plastic bottle cap, and then slide it to the back of your Rat Zapper®. (Otherwise you may goop the electronics and/or falsely trip the system.)
Q: What type of batteries do I need?
A: The Rat Zapper® Ultra requires 4 “D” alkaline batteries which will provide approximately two years of stand-by power. Use high quality alkaline batteries to ensure the best results.
Q: What may affect the effectiveness of an electronic trap?
A: To ensure that your trap works when it is supposed to, keep the metal plates clean so the trap won’t trigger at the wrong time.
- Don’t over-bait, as excess food could drop onto the plates and activate the trap, after which any rodent may safely enter to remove the food.
- Make sure that the plates are clear of any debris, especially urine or hair from a recent kill that may interfere with the unit’s proper function. Remember, both plates need to be clean so that the electric circuit is made complete by the rodent stepping on both.
Q:What does it mean when the light blinks green? Red?
A: When you turn on the trap, the green light will stay on for 2 seconds to confirm the trap is on. Then the light is supposed to go off. The green light will also blink to indicate a successful kill; however, in order to conserve battery, it only flashes about every 7 seconds. A blinking red light indicates that the batteries are running low and will need to be replaced.
