1. How do I set the EasySet mouse trap? (The one with the cheese pedal?)
   1. Pull the bow (the spring loaded part) back, holding it down with the thumb of one hand. 2. With your other hand, take the locking bar (the long arm with the curve in the end that is attached to the back of the trap) and lay it in the center of the spring. Make sure that the curved or cupped part faces downward. 3. Begin to tilt the cheese pedal upward. As you do, you'll notice that the tip the locking bar will engage inside a little box-like opening on the back of the cheese pedal. 4. Slowly release your grip on the bow, the force of which should hold the locking bar inside that little box on the pedal. The trap is now set. 5. There is an "S" and an "F" imprinted on the pedal itself. If you wish the trap to be more sensitive, position the locking bar towards the "S" side of the little box by sliding it that direction. "F" stands for firm (less sensitive).

   For mice use peanut butter, cheese, oats, nesting materials, or chocolate. For live catch, use water. For rats use peanut butter, bacon, fruits, vegetables, cereals, or meats.

   Place traps perpendicular to the wall. Place traps out unset for a few days so rodents can become familiar with it. Place traps where rodent activity is seen (sign of chewing, droppings, runway, burrow).

   Remove small staple holding locking bar to wood base. Place bait inside curl found at end of bait pedal. Remove excess bait protruding from pedal . Pull back bow and hold down with thumb. With other hand, engage curved portion locking bar under small, V-shaped lip on bait pedal. Place trap against wall with bait pedal facing the wall. If trap bait draws ants, try using a small ball of cotton or strands of dental floss tied through hole in bait pedal curl.

7. How many of mice are born at once? How do I know that I've trapped them all?
   Mice reach reproductive maturity within 60 days of birth and can have litters of 4 to 7 as often as every 40 to 50 days. It's virtually impossible to tell when you've trapped them all. You should continue to trap as long as you see mice or notice signs of activity. After that, leave traps set in high traffic areas and inspect them periodically.

9. I used your mouse trap. The bait was completely eaten but I didn't catch the mouse. What can I do?
   The M130 Quick Set traps may be over-baited. Try to use the very least amount of bait possible in any style mouse trap you use. Strangely, the more bait you use, the easier it is for these nimble creatures to remove it without disturbing the traps. Try to make them struggle to get the bait, and in doing so, apply extra force to the trigger pedal with their nose/tongue to remove the bait. This technique alone will often result in a catch.

   Smear a thin layer of peanut butter over the end of the bait pedal, pressing it down into the "+" shaped hole. Remove the excess protruding through the bottom of the hole. With this thought in mind, another possible bait would be a small piece of a cotton ball attached to the pedal with short pieces of dental floss tied through the "+" shaped hole in the trigger. The mice will see this as possible nesting material and tug to free it from the trap which will result in it triggering.

10. I'm having trouble catching mice and/or rats with my traps. What can I do?
    Remember that rodents are nocturnal. They eat just about anything but especially love peanut butter. Rodents will travel the same pathways over & over. Those pathways are always along the base of a wall or similar vertical structures. Traps should always be placed in the pathways.

    Place the traps against the wall where rodents travel, orienting them so that the short side of the trap with the bait pedal, is against the wall. Pairs of traps may be employed since mice will often jump over obstructions in their normal path. Use two traps in the positioned mentioned above or place then length-wise, end-to-end (red "V's" on traps pointing towards each other) so that the bait pedal end will be encountered first as mice approach from either direction.

11. Will my pets be harmed if they eat mouse or rat poison?
    Rodenticides can be harmful if ingested by domestic pets or non-target wildlife. To prevent exposure use the following precautions: 1. Store product that is not in use in a location out of reach of pets. 2. Apply bait in locations that are out of reach of pets and other non-target wildlife. 3. Collect and dispose of any dead rodents and left over bait right away.

12. What is the best way to get glue from your glue traps off of our pet's paw?
    The glue from all our traps can be removed easily. Liberally coat the glue on the paw with vegetable oil. The oil will dissolve the glue within a short period of time. The oily residue can then be removed by washing with mild soap and warm water.

    Unfortunately, no. Typically voles will not enter this type of live catch trap. A better alternative is the Havahart Cage Trap. It's a cage-type trap designed for small rodents.

    1. Don't leave animals outside at night for long periods of time.
    2. Locate the nest, if possible, and begin to trap & remove the rats.

16. How do I keep my pets away from the mouse/rat traps?
    Place the trap inside a small cardboard box that has enough height to allow the trap to snap. Some shoe boxes work for this). Cut a 3" x 3 opening on two opposite sides of the box. Place the box with a baited trap in a known rat path so that the rats will be able to enter the box as they travel on their path.

    This should prevent your pet from being snapped by the trap.

17. Does a glue trap need to be baited?
    No. Mousetraps of any kind simply need to be placed in known mice pathways. The mice will then encounter and rapidly explore the traps.

    Rats are social animals. If they detect the scent, they will shy away from the trap. I recommend purchasing a new trap to catch another rat.

    There should not be any danger involved with this. You should always wear gloves when disposing of the dead mouse to prevent the spread of germs or disease. You can also disinfect the area with a household cleaner if you are concerned that there is a possible threat on your health.
