Victor® Introduces New Ultra PestChaser® Ultrasonic Rodent Repellent

LITITZ, PA—April 29, 2013—Homeowners looking for a safe, humane and poison-free way to protect themselves from mice and rat invasions can now do so with the Ultra PestChaser®, a new rodent repeller fromfront with cord Victor®, a world leader in rodent control. The technologically advanced Ultra PestChaser emits ultrasound that is extremely irritating to rodents.  Though undetectable to humans and non-rodent pets, the high frequency ultrasound expose the rodents to intense auditory stress, encouraging them to quickly scurry away.

Featuring three speakers, the new Ultra PestChaser has triple the output for maximum coverage and protection compared to ordinary ultrasonic repellents, making it ideal for use in large indoor spaces like garages, attics and basements.  The PestChaser emits ultrasound at varying volumes (peaking at 100dB) and varying frequencies (ranging from 32 to 62 kHz). This prevents the rodents from becoming accustomed to the ultrasound.

“The Ultra PestChaser is exceptionally versatile and easy-to-use,” says Andrea Cober, Category Development Associate at Victor.  “The unit comes with a six-foot power cord giving you flexibility when it comes to placement.  To use the PestChaser, simply set the unit in an open area, plug it in and relax.  Since humans are unable to hear the ultrasound, a red LED indicator light mimics the ultrasound pulsating from the unit and lets you know the device is working properly. Within six to ten days, you should notice a reduction in rodent activity.”

Proper placement of the Ultra PestChaser rodent repeller is key. Because ultrasound cannot penetrate solid surfaces such as walls, floors and cabinets, the PestChaser should be placed in an open, unobstructed area. Depending on the particular space, it may be necessary to use multiple units.  After locating areas of rodent activity, place a PestChaser in each room where activity has been spotted and direct the unit towards the area’s entry points.

“For effective control of an established rodent infestation, it is important to point out that ultrasound rodent repellers should always be used in conjunction with other means of rodent control, such as traps or rodenticides,” advises Cober. “It’s also essential to keep the infested area clean and free of food particles.”

The efficacy of Victor’s Ultra PestChaser is backed by independent third party lab and field tests. The unit also meets the strict standards required for registration by the Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA.)
